After today, would you guys wait for Windows Phone 8 if all of you were to not yet experience Metro on cell phones?
i still haven't gotten a wp7 yet. i am prob gonna get it as soon as mango drops. also isn't wp8 just an update for wp7. like iOS#

Seeing how easy it is to convert apps to run between WP and W8, I really hope we see more apps. But really, other than Whatsapp, there's nothing that I really think is necessary and the most things that's still missing are the lack of regional support of the core features in most countries.

I want to see the 'contracts' in WP8/Apollo/whatever microsoft is calling it. It looks like a decent idea for the file system.

Yeah, for making apps work together more seamlessly, but what does it do for a file system?

Also now it seems more like WP is made to be a test run for W8, I wonder if they had this in consideration when they started to design the mobile OS.

I'd say it's confirmed.

joebelfiore: This made me smile. :) RT @whatsapp Did you know that mangoes account for approximately half of all tropical fruits produced worldwide?

Thank you, Mangod.

Posting from new Optimus 7 :D
Congrats! How do you like it?

Only played around for half an hour, it's charging now...but it's a really smooth user experience. Actually nicer than iOS.
The phone looks & feels like quality, seeing how i only paid 160 euros for it no contract that's quite a deal.

It would be cool to see some games get cross platform support between WP and W8.

They're showing it right now at build. I take what I said earlier back, I want my damn multiplayer games on WP.

Actually, isn't the basis for this already in Mango? I thought this was how apps are communicating?

Mango has a basic implementation of it via bing integration (apps can register to handle certain data types) and also hub integration. Doesn't seem as well developed as Windows 8 though.

Being as I'm ignorant, what's the significance of WhatsApp?

What are the advantages of Whatsapp over Kik is what I'd like to know. Oh, and to anyone who uses Kik on Mango, do the notifications actually work this time?

So what are the chances of Mango dropping tomorrow?

Couple suggestive Tweets from the last few minutes:

BrandonWatson

"I keep getting asked about when to submit your Mango apps...*cough* now *cough*"

joebelfiore

"Hey devs- we'd love you to get your apps updated to V7.1 and in marketplace *quite soon*! Just rebuild to enable MT"

billcox

"OK @windowsphone developers, let's see your Mango apps!"

Kik isn't on BlackBerry killing off a somewhat significant portion of my friends. Going to depend on the popularity of the platform in your areas.

C'mon AT&T, do it tomorrow. I guess I should restore my phone to NoDo, just in case.

Can't wait to flash the RTM tomorrow and then update my way back to Mango!

WhatsApp has more users?

I won't talk to Blackberry people anymore. WHAT YOUR PHONE DOES EMAIL!? THAT IS FASCINATING BRO!

Well, 10 minutes back to NoDo state and damn I miss Mango already. Watch AT&T make us wait a month for the update. For those of you who didn't try the Mango beta, you're gonna love the differences.

No one I know uses either. I don't care about Blackberry users either. I basically only use Kik with my girlfriend (across the ocean), and my brother (when I'm abroad, which happens fairly often). She's on iOS, he's on Android.

In terms of performance/features, is WA better?

Yeah, it may not be as well developed as the upcoming implementations ... just saying you don't need to wait for Apollo to get a taste of it.

As for the functionality itself ... I commented about it previously when it was first announced for Mango. I think it's going to be pretty huge. The fact it will only improve and a more developed implementation will be in Win8 is going to be amazing.

I think it's one of the best new concepts out there and will be huge for developers and consumers. For example, think of a home theater 10 foot UI and other media software. How awesome is it gonna be once devs put out stuff like scrapers, aggregators, etc. Not having to reinvent the wheel to put together things like that will be AMAZING. Faster development, less bugs, there's no downside really.

I don't trust at&t. I'll wait until its announced before going back to nodo. Can't be without mango at this point.

Count me in this camp. I don't expect to be rolling back anytime soon to get the update. Get back to me in October sometime.

A decent free GPS app.

Augmented reality apps.

More free games.

Layar was one of the apps demoed when Mango was announced I believe, so should be out soon.

What would be nice to have is Pandora, lol. Wonder if that will come now that we background audio APIs. I wouldn't personally use it, but it seems like its one of those "It doesn't have XXX? No Thanks" kind of apps
