i'm going to flash my Trophy to the leaked (official) mango firmware tonight. i don't have a load of apps, or conversations i need to keep, so it should be pretty painless.

currently, you have to save the vid on your PC via Zune then post on fb from there. mango update allows you to post your bids directly to fb.A27 Tawpgun said:Question: How do I get videos on my phone onto facebook/internet?

anyone on t-mo USA getting really strange/slow service today? I smell the upgrade.

It's lookin like that for me too. If the iPhone 5 rumors are true and it's the same size with just a 8mp camera and the A5 processor then it's samsung focus s time baby.Klocker said:Samsung Focus S
SOLD!
So is the Focus S using the 8X55T but under clocked to 1.4 Ghz?NotTarts said:I'm really happy with the possibility of hardware variation with the new Mango phones
Before Mango:
- QSD8X50 (1Ghz, Adreno 200)
With Mango:
- MSM7X30 (800Mhz, Adreno 205)
- MSM8X55 (1Ghz, Adreno 205)
- MSM8X55T (1.5Ghz, Adreno 205)
Hopefully we'll see a wider range of price points this time around.
Qualcomm's page says 'up to 1.4Ghz' so it's possible the HTC Titan has just been overclocked to 1.5Ghz.hwalker84 said:So is the Focus S using the 8X55T but under clocked to 1.4 Ghz?

I think the one thing that would hold me back is how seamless iCloud will be. I'd mostly enjoy putting a new calendar date/contact into my phone and have it pushed automatically to my other devices. Anything similar to WP7?
It's a shame all these indie games go unnoticed just because they aren't Xbox Live-enabled...Gaspode_T said:I have Vizati on XBLIG, it's great. The Platformance games are stellar too (I think he has some sort of Bunker Buster game too that was pretty fun...ah, here it is: http://wp7.apphab.com/bunker-buster-by-magiko-gaming/ )

Customs ringtones and uploading video to Facebook is in MangoA27 Tawpgun said:Man this phone feels so unfinished... Can I add custom sounds/ringtones yet?
I had a sync it with my computer, burn my video on a disc, and then upload it to facebook. ffs.
Uh, what? Why did you burn it to a disc?A27 Tawpgun said:Man this phone feels so unfinished... Can I add custom sounds/ringtones yet?

That's what you usually do, when you announce some lame feature phones.Totakeke said:Are there no official pictures of the new Samsung phones yet? What kind of unveiling it is when you announce phones and don't give the press any photos?! Third tier platform indeed.

Please advise on what apps/games are must haves.
Get appflow and look through the recommendations. I found many an app from appflow!Speedymanic said:WP7 owners, I am now one of you...

MobileTechWorld: Oohhhh snap... little voice told me #Nokia Sea Ray (or whatever the name is) is coming out mid-otcober #wp7 #mango #microsoft
WhatsApp: Did you know that mangoes account for approximately half of all tropical fruits produced worldwide?
MCD said:OK. My friend has a very silly ringer bug (or is it a feature?) on his HTC HD7 (T-Mobile) that I cannot find anyone on the internet with the same problem.
Here is how it happens: if the phone is on a table and the phone rings, holding it will turn the ringer volume down gradually till you can barely hear it.
Only happens when it is sitting on a surface.
What error message do you get?Speedymanic said:Thanks for the tips, but I've hit a brick wall.
I can't seem to install Zune. It keeps throwing up access denied errors when it comes to installing and there's very little usable info on the net. Anyone have any tips/advice?
Is it possible to just connect the phone to my PC and copy files over without going through Zune?

talkinghead said:No you need Zune. Try running the installer as administrator...what windows are you running?
OH MY GOD.VanMardigan said:It's an HTC specific functionality. Check the HTC apps installed on the phone. One of them will have the setting to turn that off.
So does the facebook calendar. Everything was so easy. I flashed the phone. Forgetting all my contacts etc. It all synced up without me doing shit.Disaster averted.catmincer said:Works for me between my work outlook account, hotmail account and phone. Everything syncs.
You don't have admin rights/ownership of c:/program files. Do you have another OS on you computer?Speedymanic said:"Can't create folder in C:/program files/Zune; access denied"
I've tried changing the folder/creating a new folder, but it doesn't work.
I am the admin, it keeps saying access denied. Windows XP: SP3.
Jadedx said:You don't have admin rights/ownership of c:/program files. Do you have another OS on you computer?
Speedymanic said:Nope, just Windows XP. Hmm, I'm logged in as admin, is it possible to be logged in as admin and still not have admin rights? I don't have a virus/spyware, do I?![]()
Anyway, I've just started a Windows driver update, hopefully that will help.
I disagree.NotTarts said:I would be happy to do a clean wipe when Mango comes out (I'd actually prefer this, honestly), but there's no way to back up application data :/ Zune is the worst part about Windows Phone at the moment.
It gets bloated, if you store your media on your windows home server (like 0,0001% of the WP users).Raistlin said:I disagree.
Is it missing features? Sure (though I'd prefer online backup ala Kin anyway) ... but it isn't a bloated hog like some other solutions.

There's a bug that WHS users can get. If your media is stored on a WHS and you try to play a song, Zune can take up to 1.7 GB of RAM and 100% of your CPU (25% here, that's one entire core on my machine). That is pretty annoying, 'cus I have to restart the software every time that happens.Totakeke said:Eh? It works fine for me and I use WHS. A bit slow to access files maybe, but that's just the nature of the home server. At least WP has the Zune software, Android has zilch!
Sooo, September 15th, yes?tomwarren: Testing for Windows Phone Mango firmware update has been completed and approved. Awaiting deployment from Microsoft - says Vodafone AU
If you have tons of media, obviously your server is 'bloated' in that regard regardless of what SW you use to index it (or even if you aren't using any SW to index it).brotkasten said:It gets bloated, if you store your media on your windows home server (like 0,0001% of the WP users).![]()
Ahh ... this. Luckily I haven't run into it. Though as you said, it's a bug ... not a design choicebrotkasten said:There's a bug that WHS users can get.
