Soooo is there still no way of not having the phone sync your entire Messenger contacts list from Live Contacts when setting that account as primary? =/

The restore option on my zune software just one day disappear ... I will have to tinker with the save file and see if I can get to pop back up.

Is there a way to downgrade the beta Zune? I am thinking the last update is what causing the version not match error when you try to restore, using batch file.

Samsung Omnia W

Meet the Samsung Omnia W. The latest handset from the Korean electronics giant comes running Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) and features a smaller 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display compared with its predecessor, the Omnia 7. The handset does, however, pack a much faster single-core 1.4GHz processor and has 512MB of RAM.

Design-wise, the Omnia W looks slightly different with its rounded edges compared with the rectangular shape of the Omnia 7. It's also slightly thinner at 10.9mm and weighs in at just 115.3g compared with the 11mm and 138g of the latter. The weight difference is owed to the smaller 3.7-inch display--the Omnia 7 sports a 4-inch screen.

Not bad I must say if it's priced cheap (no Super AMOLED Plus). Meh to capacitive buttons though.

I really wish companies would stop putting their logos above the screen. Really ruins the look of a phone.

Anyone get the mango update yet for friends and family?

Argh, we really need an IPS, S-LCD, or SAMOLED+ Windows Phone with a 1.4Ghz processor. I'm never going to upgrade until there's one available.

I'm on Beta 7712 and I haven't received an update notice.

One has to understand Samsungs logic. Faster, more ram, but smaller screen without samoled plus...

I don't know why they said smaller screen considering it's still 3.7" compared to Omnia 7. It's also the same screen type as Omnia 7. Having cheaper phones run Windows Phone is a no brainer though, no other platform can compete with it in terms of performance at that space.

Omnia 7 is 4".

It's meant to be a mid-range phone for €300/$400 off-contract and it doesn't have more RAM.

7720 RTM and no notification.

Samsung Focus S fits the bill although I think most people posting at this time are probably in Europe.

I should go to bed =[

Well that's very disappointing, and seeing as we probably won't see a variant of that Focus S over here seems a new Samsung WP is off the cards, the Titan and whatever Nokia bring seem to be the only potential good ones.

What makes you say that there wont be a EU version of the focus S?

My guess would be that this would be their mid-range phone, which could sell well at <£300 unlocked/PAYG or free on 12 month contracts.

k...not getting that phone then. thanks for the quick answers and examples
Meh, the pen tile stuff bothers some more than others. I have no problems with it and I've been using my Focus for almost a year now. I'd say check it out in a store when it launches to see if it bothers you. Those blown up shots are not representative of what you actually experience as a user.

i agree, hurts some more than others. i'm 'used to it' or not bothered by it at all.

Depends. I can see it clearly.

Anyone got that notification? I rolled back to NoDo anyway.

Whichever gets me official Mango for my phone first is what I'll go with. I didn't get this notification today, and if AT&T rolls out Mango tomorrow for the Focus, then I'll roll back and update rather than wait for this notification. I'm updating phones next month anyway, and Zune won't keep my texts and game data backed up.

I rolled back anyway, and wow, the animations are so slow. Not laggy, just really drawn out. I can't believe I never noticed it before.

I don't see none of that on the omnia 7, I think the screen is glorious.

I see it but it doesn't bother me. I am more worry with Samsung always mess around with parts and spec and cause the phone to not be able to update.

Microsoft and Samsung wouldn't do the same mistake twice, right?

So we know supposedly MS is rolling out an update to get people from the Dev RTM to the real deal, but has their been any confirmation of people actually getting this in the wild? (I haven't checked XDA yet :P )
