So it's not really '4G'? How many of the 4G phones out there are actually LTE capable?

4G doesn't mean anything since the people who define the Gs decided it doesn't mean anything.

Use speed ratings to decide if something is worthwhile.

4 devices, all on Verizon. The HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Droid Charge, LG Revolution and the newly released Motorola Droid Bionic. Relatively speaking, not a ton of devices, so those beating up MS for their not being an LTE device are kinda trolling, whether they realize it or not.

Also the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE coming to Rogers later this year. I assume the US will get it at some point too. But yeah, not many LTE devices yet.

Then I don't have that in my marketpalce or something, I just get Feed Reader in the title screen with the big rss logo.
Maybe he removed it on a later update or something. I'm sure you're using the right application.

While you lose the 10 songs to keep per month, it is 5 dollars cheaper. Personally I didn't really care about the 10 songs per month and it's more like a hassle for me to decide what 10 songs I want to keep per month. Although of course, people will always want to have their own copies of stuff.

So this statement by Nokia from September 23rd says they're still confident about releasing their first Win 7.5 phone this year. I wonder if that will be in the U.S. too and I wonder if it'll be Sea Ray http://www.cnbc.com/id/44637934
I'm sure this has already been posted.

It's has already said that the US has been pencilled in for 2012.

I'm thinking that a new Nokia will release this year (sabre?).

My phone provider (Orange, in France) seems to take ages to release Mango for my Omnia7.

Can I install a sure version of Mango by myself and be done with it?

I flashed my Omnia7 a while ago to the Mango updated build (touch to focus) I think it's the german frw.

How do I roll it back to my T-mobile pre-nodo? (I'd like pre-nodo so I can re-unlock my phone)

Anyone found a fix for the marketplace not showing app updates without going to the specific app?

It is working for me since the second day I switched to Mango.

On the first 24h using Mango (Tuesday/Wednesday) the marketplace did not showed any updated for me. I mannualy entered like 6 or 7 applications I knew that new Mango versions exists and forced the updated. Later Wednesday night I started getting marketplace notifications, received 14 in one shot.

Bing music search is amazing. I don't know about the size of its catalog but I can say that it recognizes songs far better than shazam. I was searching a song in a movie that had background chatter and Bing still found the song. shazam requires absolutely zero background noise to work correctly.

Yeah, more colors would be great.

Would this accent color be the background color of the multitasking view as well?

Okay thanks, I'll turn 3G on and see if that helps

I'm like the one tech nerd that doesn't care about 4G. Hell I only pay for the 200 meg AT&T 3G plan. I don't use mass transit though, and I'm the driver when I'm in a car like 90% of the time. So virtually everywhere I use my phone has wifi. It's just sort of a non issue for me. Granted not saying public wifi is always speedy, but it works well enough outside of streaming video. That's not something I gonna sit and do in public really anyways.

Hell I just have my 3g turned off like 99% of the time, and just turn it on when I send or receive a picture MMS.

Of course, it's just another accent color.
I wish you could change the background color to black independent of the accent color. The solid bold colors are nice accents for the tiles and OS but very distracting when glancing at the app screens.

How do I get the text to speach feature to work? I got a text and an email but it was not read aloud.

Settings -> Speech -> Enable Speech Confirmation

Choose when to enable it (always, bluetooth, etc). I have noticed that it only works for me when the phone is locked. It also doesn't work for email, just messaging

Internal Beta users:

I was on the MS internal and I plugged into Zune this morning and was walked through a no fuss upgrade process smoovely. In case you guys are wondering if you need to roll back first. I did not.

I just have to say that bing search is just amazing. I was out shopping and found this battery extender on clearance for $20.00. I know very little about it so I just scan the barcode and bing pick up right away and give me the list of prices and review. It's like magic!!

So far release version is definitely more "refine" than the beta. Everything is just a tad better.

The iPhone is yesterday's smartphone, and though it was fascinating when it came out, Apple has been surpassed by faster-moving and/or more innovative smartphone firms. Including, yes, Microsoft with Windows Phone. Deal with it.

Mango is good, I don't know if it's good enough to relegate iOS to second-rate status, lol. I think iOS needs a revamp (which I've heard it'll get next year), because after 18 months of using it, I was completely over that interface.

Just wish there was a metro skin for the Neogaf webapp. Looks so weird having iStuff buttons.

One of Chris Kohler's (NeoGAF web app dev) best friends carries a Windows Phone, and bugs him on a regular basis for a metro theme. It's now finally picqued his curiosity, so maybe we'll see one soon!

A metro theme would be so awesome. It's just so much sexier. I appreciate the site in its current form, but having it in metro would be hot.

Just listened to the Engadget podcast, man these guys are awful. They actually made the statement that the majority of nerd arguments on the internet take place on Engadget.

The dude also thought the biggest addition to Mango was the unified inbox. And also thought the max system specs were an issue.

TiMN is generally fair, but since none of them use Windows Phone as their main phone, and Topolsky's positive review of the Focus was a year ago, they really can't be faulted for not getting all the details right. I think they would all agree that Windows Phone is a top rate platform, but since it has no marketplace momentum right now, the coverage they give it is commensurate.

It's the vexing problem of Windows Phone 7: Everyone likes it, but no one's actually buying it.

edit: whoa, that sounds a lot like WebOS. :(

I have been using neogaf web app since Windows Phone came out and I never knew there was a setting option. @_@

Thanks man.
Haha I've been using it since the iPhone 3G on that, an HTC Desire HD, and numerous BlackBerrys and didn't know. This would have been nice for the higher res phones I used to be on. Icons were blurry and nasty looking.

Wow, Mango is getting seriously glowing reviews. Slate: You Should Get a Windows Phone. Really.

Edit: But like I pointed out above, it doesn't matter how much people seem to like it, nobody wants to buy one. The author says he's not getting one, even though he thinks you should. lol.
Sad but true. My friends and colleagues are all like "Windows Phone? LOL!" .. and then I browse the web faster and find stuff in half the time they do on their "modified" Andrioid phones and the look bummed out.

How do I do this exactly? I am using secondapps and have the page pinned to my home screen. Assume I am an idiot.
TURN ON PHONE
WITH BROWSER GO TO SECONDAPPS.COM/NEOGAF
PRESS SETTINGS BUTTON AT THE TOP RIGHT CORNER
FIND SHOW INTERFACE GFX ON PAGE
PRESS BUTTON

Edit: wrong side of screen.

On the main screen(the one with gaming, off topic, ect) click "settings" in the upper right of the screen. In the settings menu click "show interface gfx" to off.

Edit: gah, slow.
