What is a good FREE news reader with live tiles and notifications?
Wonder reader works like a free version. The only options that are premium is pinning individual feeds to the homescreen and embedded youtube videos I think.
I might stick to that if I can't find feed reader 2.0 - can anyone provide me with the marketplace link? :)

If anyone is a Premier League fan, download the app 'Premier League +'. So awesome

No trial and was released half a year ago? Where does it get its live commentary from?

The Guardian. It's live updates (scorers, those who were carded) are pretty cool, even for games in other leagues. The dev intends to Mango it soon.

Guys, I have to apologize! I didn't post in this Thread for a long time because I didn't want to spoil the fun for others. I was not happy with my Windows Phone, I thought I had made the wrong decision and should have gone with the iPhone.

Now I have Mango and it's awesome. There are so many new things to discover it alsmost feels like a completely new phone. Microsoft did a really great job with this update. And the best thing for me is that YouTube now finally works without any problems or hacks. I'm 99% happy now. Time for my girlfriend to get a Windows phone as well. :o

Have you guys tried to subscribe to Podcasts via your phone? It only downloads when you're charging the phone, right? I can subscribe to them somehow and I don't know why. I can't access them through the Marketplace, though. I can only stream episodes for Podcasts I already have on my phone. Is that how it's for everyone or just because I'm in Germany?

The podcast situation didn't really change. Browsing and directly downloading on your phone is still U.S. exclusive and god knows why. However, you can subscribe podcasts you already synced from your PC to your phone.

Lets say you downloaded the first episode of the GiantBomb podcast and synced it to your phone. You can now subscribe the podcast on your phone and get the same subscription options you'd get on your PC.

Weird. That's fine, though. I usually don't browse Podcasts to find out what might interest me. I know what I want to listen to so the situation is better than expected. :)

I guess they treat podcasts like music on the phone marketpalce. But then aren't there other regions that have the music marketplace as well?

I think there's a bug, I try to download podcast today but it kept stuck at pending. Though it did let me stream it. I am going to try again and see if may be it's just problem with marketplace.

My replacement screen arrived! It seems that the screen surround is not only clipped on but glued too :/ I'm definitely not messing with that. Looks like a trip to the local repair shop, rubbish :*(

As an aside, Mango is pretty awesome except from one thing for me. After updating the to RTM last month my phone sometimes acts like I have no data connection even though it has a full signal with the H next to it (HSDPA?). I can still call/text etc but for a minute or 2 I can't do anything requiring a data connection. I was hoping the HTC radio update and legit Zune Mango would solve it but no dice. Has anyone had anything similar?

Finally got Mango installed. Love how snappy it is and most things are great.

I was told many times we would be able to connect to hidden wi fi networks. I do not see an option for this. Please tell me this is there and that I am just missing it.

Driver issue apparently. WPCentral had something on this I think.

Settings-->WiFi-->Advanced-->Add New

You can add up to 3 hidden networks. Why only 3 I have no idea.

LG Quantum and I do not have the option someone mentioned above.

I hope there is a way to get it to show on my phone, this was a BIG feature I was really looking forward to.

Edit. From wpcentral thanks MagniHarvald for the heads up on this.

On hidden SSID

This too is dependent on some drivers/chipset combo. Microsoft was a little fuzzy on the details on why it is device specific, but that was their explanation at the time.

Oh great so not every phone now will get every feature. This pretty much upsets me on an epic level to the point where I may look in another direction. I like my phone a lot but to not let us know well before that there perhaps is an issue with features on certain phones is a giant joke. Waited for nearly a year for this to be added and screwed at the last second.

I know many others wanted this feature. I hope they chose the correct phone back in the day.

What do you think of this?

Really liking Mango. Don't know why a lot of the updates aren't automatically detected, I have to keep going in and out of the app in the marketplace.

Looks good but I really would like the live radar to be on the back (or make it an option). The weather.com demo (I think) from a while back worked like that and it looked really useful.

wholly crap, i powered down the phone last night, powered on this morning and it just kept looping from the htc screen, to the t-mobile screen, and back. it never went to the windows phone screen and then to the home screen. battery pulls didn't work either. thankfully, i plugged the phone into my computer just now and it powered on just fine.

this is something we all need to look out for. if i were away from home, away from my computer, and i powered off my phone and it didn't come on i'd be in major trouble.

i did power off/on just fine before last night, it probably had something to do with all those apps it was updating.

Everyone needs to look out for your issue?

Does Windows Phone still hold the record as far as cold boot times are concerned? My Omnia 7 with Mango boots up in 20 seconds, which I thought was pretty impressive.

With no features, comes no boot times. /trolololo

i won't power down when not at home that's for sure. at least until i do more testing. again, this may have been an issue due to all the app updates.

If only they had Zune on OS X.. :(
You mean the Zune software? Boot camp or virtualize Windows. I own an iMac and have been enjoying the Zune software for years, even more so the Zune Pass. Also if you're big complaint about subscription services is loosing your music when you unsubscribe, now would be the time to grandfather yourself in. 10 credits is going away with new subscribers.

This would be amazing except for the part where you can only use the pass on 4 devices now instead of the old 6. Guess I'll stick to the old plan.
What do you use it on that needs more than 4?

zunepass w/o the 10 songs to keep is not nearly as good of a deal.... I'll probably end up keeping it but I'm going to look at the other services like spotify and rhapsody.... they are all the same price now but those other services are available on more devices (zune really should be on more platforms outside the ms ones)

New Zune Pass changes, opening to Canada, lower price $10, and includes music videos.

Once the new Zune Music Pass offering is available, the $14.99 plan with 10 monthly MP3 credits will no longer be available to new subscribers. However, current subscribers can stay on their existing Zune Music Pass plan if they choose and will also have access to streaming music videos.

Yikes. Does this mean we should hurry sign up for the current ZP before it goes away??? I always thought that was the feature that separated ZP from other FREE sub services.

just ordered a usb jig on ebay hopefully i wil get it this weekend or beginning next week.

Yes. The credits are what makes the Pass so good. Sad so many won't get to experience a subscription service done right. Hurry and subscribe now.

Fair enough. How easy is it change the devices that are linked? If the Zune devices are not connected when used then you might be able to get by with only one Zune device linked at a time... although if one of those Zunes is a Windows Phone (likely given the thread we are in) than it won't work I guess.

It's actually pretty easy to change the linked devices. The problem is, Microsoft only lets you change the devices once a month, so it's not that interchangeable.

Ok, well that kills my idea for you then. For me I might give it a try seeing as I would only need a PC/Zune HD/WP and leave one spot open for a different PC.
