I had a weird situation where it showed I had like 3% battery even though it was plugged in for hours, but a reboot fixed that and it showed 100%.

Mine does this sometimes. But it's a bit different. I'll get low on my battery, plug it in and the bar will move up but it will never move past a certain point without a restart. It will hit like halfway and stay there even though it's fully charged.

Brazil is getting a custom version of the HTC Titan, named HTC Ultimate.

Same specs (1,5Ghz CPU, 512 RAM, 8MP rear camera and 1,3MP frontal camera, 4,7” screen and battery 1600mhA) but without HDMI out.

It just got their approval in our Telecommunications Board. I have pictures and its manual (pdfs) but no place to upload them.

Originally when I experimented with this it also increased the sound notifications as well as the ringer and in-call volume. However, since I've installed Mango, I haven't had this complaint. Although I'm not sure if its just my ears getting used to the loud notifications or whether or not they are now tolerable.

Here is how to do it

I would recommend you note down the original settings before you change them, in case you want to revert back.
Unless I'm misunderstanding ... isn't this still universal volume (well you can separate handle speaker versus headphone)? It doesn't allow you to separately control volume of specific items such as ringer relative to talk, music player, texts, etc?

Basically it's just boosting the gain of the phone.

Also iirc (I've read similar instructions a while back) ... this is basically a debug mode setting. Rebooting the phone goes back to default?

Regarding the battery server mode, does anyone know at what percentage 'low' is set to when you turn on 'Always turn on Battery Saver when battery is low'?

That seems reasonable.

I just wouldn't want to turn on the feature if they're being really aggressive - say 40% - 50%.

I'm curious though, when it states 'apps won't run in the background' ... does it still allow quick resume?

Pretty sure that just means that background agents won't run.. things like background audio won't be allowed, etc.

Basically it disables all unnecessary processes and data usage (no email push.. manual check only) in the interest of keeping your phone alive as long as possible.

Yep, it is 20%. The phone can still receive calls and SMS messages, but it will disable other push services. You can still use data but you have to refresh manually.

I just signed up for the Zune Music Pass (Canada). Is there a way to enable it on your phone for streaming or can you only download songs in the zune software then transfer them?

Speaking of the new zune pass.... anybody start getting the music videos yet? It's still not showing music videos for me (or was this feature not supposed to go live today).

It is under the videos section for me in the Zune softare. Seems like some of the videos are not available to stream yet for some reason. Only lists preview and buy.

Are you seeing music in the Zune software? I signed up for the pass and can now stream music from the website but the software is still only showing Videos and Apps in the Marketplace.

EDIT: No it looks like I was wrong, I can't play albums on the website, those were just samples. I just saw play options and thought that was to listen to full songs/albums.

My software shows music as well. Initially it didn't, but earlier I opened the Zune software and it said new features have been added and told me restart Zune.

Edit: Using the xbox streaming right now and I love it.

Hmm, not happening for me, I even checked for updates. I'll try reinstalling.

Where do you live? Marketplace content depends (sadly, and stupidly) on your location - or your account's location to be clear.

I got it working. Seems in my old attempts to cheat and get the US Zune pass I had set my location in my email to be United States. After talking to someone at support I set it back to Canada and about 5 mins later I restarted the Zune software and got the same message about new features. Everything seems to be there now :)

Thats good. I want the marketplace to work on my phone now.

I still don't care about battery percentage and I don't know why I should.

Admittedly its a small convenience. But when you're down to the wire on battery life, knowing the moment (my iPhone always kicked it minutes after 3%) you're phone is about to die was always nice. At least I know I can double check in the settings now. Hmm, come to think of it, there's gotta be apps out there that track battery usage. Anyone out there know any app that can Live tile battery percentage? Would love that.

From the Windows Phone support tweets the music marketplace should be ready for the phone soon.

I think they should change the ... menu to bring up metro like tiles instead of text. There are seven lines of text in IE with Mango and you need to scroll to see 'settings' and the other half of 'pin to start'.

Seems to me they could fit three or four small tiles in a row instead of this text and use more horizontal space and less vertical space.

Small nitpick, but I think it would be an improvement.

After reading about how they've opened up the spigot to 50% of the phones now, I've gotta say, they deserve some serious kudos for the mango rollout compared to NoDo. For all the flack they've gotten, scrubby underdog as they are in smartphone world, they've managed to update a ton of different phones across every US carrier + all the rest of the world carriers, without much of a hitch, NINJA EDIT: nearly at the same time, PLUS conveniently had a small little VIP linecutter method for anyone (sans MAC owners :( ) who wanted the update early. Props MS.

Now its time to start bitching about more new features.

Decrease due to resolution?

n9 is 854*480.
Hmm. the original 'rumor' was they were using the extra pixels for three buttons, back, windows and search (not sure how well that would work though).

What? No. They initially did that because the rest of the phone wasn't ready. That's why Elop didn't show the lower part of the phone when he turned it on. He didn't want to give false impressions. A later leak of the phone showed that it has capacitive buttons.

aww shucks. the n9 is such a beautiful object, and functional too.

I missed out on signing up for Zune Pass.

Does anyone know where I can find a 12-month pre-paid subscription card? Where are they sold?

this battery saver thing realy has me thrown for a loop. i've been doing some messing around today and notice that the battery % you see is never really accurate. two times during the day today i would check the % then reboot my phone only to see the number drop 6% the first time, than 8% the next.

You can't sign up for it? Or did you want the old plan?

I think Best Buy had them at some point. Speaking of Zune, looks like that 4 device limit was strictly just for downloads. You can stream with as many devices as you want.

If the Nokia Ace looks anything like that then I'll be up for it. The only thing holding me back on the sea ray is the 3.7" screen.

I'm really mystified by some of the differences between the US and Canadian Zune features. Although I do like the service a lot why is it that the Canadian accounts can't see sub-genres? On a US account I can click Rock and see Classic Rock, Punk, Metal etc. You don't see those options on a Canadian account. Plus we still don't see artist pictures and info while music is playing. Also no access to Podcasts still.

I don't see how licensing issues could be responsible for these differences (except the podcasts). Really weird :/ Hopefully it's something that will be added later.

Anyway, sorry, I know this isn't strictly WP7 related.

The new version of TuneIn is fantastic! I now have the Giant Bombast tile on my homescreen and can stream the newest version with a simple press. :D
