It's weird how every single week since the show started, people have been dropping Guilty Crown, and yet there are STILL people who remain. How many people started watching the show to begin with? Everyone? What a horrifying thought. :)

I will stay the course.

I'm still watching it because I think it's legitimately good and is building up to something awesome.
Both writers worked on Code Geass... I find that highly implausible. Unless, you thought Code Geass had good writing!?

Well, taking into account the kind of scenes we saw from each, I think your breakdown here is pretty clear. Very convincing argument indeed... thanks for the information!

One thing I forgot to mention is that the head of Sanzigen made a very interesting comment on the NHK World program. He said that in a way BRS TV was both an experiment and a marketing showcase of sorts for Ultra Super Pictures, and the contribution from Sanzigen as one of the major stakeholders is that they want to use the show to showcase that Sanzigen as a studio can provide CG animation which rivals hand drawn animation while looking very close to hand drawn anime at the same time. He says that if it is successful, he hopes that it leads to more people considering it as an alternative.

This comment leads me to believe that BRS TV is more than just something they are making just artistically, but also a project that Sanzigen in particular is trying to use as a showcase to convince producers and other studios that if they need someone to animate an action scene or they want to use CG in an integrated way, they should consider looking towards Ultra Super Picture, and in particular Sanzigen. They're basically looking for more work in the future, to expand their mind share on the market.

That might be why they're putting so much effort into making a substantial part of the series CG instead of Ordet simply looking for good action animators.

Black ★ Rock Shooter 01

Not as good as the OVA overall, pretty much what duck said. BUT I must say, the CG has got to be hands down THE most impressive feat of imitating the look/feel of hand drawn anime. Holy. Fucking. Shit! o_O

One Piece

Finally started watching One Piece. I've never read the manga either.

Holy shit, it's so much better than Naruto and Bleach combined.

I'm at episode 50. Really looking forward to the next 500.

With so little time after their establishment it would be difficult, but I guess TRIGGER Inc. people (credited as staff member) would have also been there maybe in charge of some episode (I think they will show on this project at least handling assistance) if it wasn't for that. There's always Mr. Imaishi as their definitive showcase, though.

Just so you know, you're approaching the first filler arc which is pretty crap. I think it's 54-60 or something. You can skip it if you want. I'd also recommend using an episode guide in general. I don't want to pull up one right now since I'm on my iPhone, but I can later.

Garzey's Wing 2

The selected quotes of Lord Chris:

"You certainly got sexy!"

"Why can't you do something for us mister Yamato-takeru-nomikoto?!"

"I'm just half. I can't act like an ancient japanese man. Oh no, damn you. You bastard!"

"Shit! Then can you make a gun?"

oh god ahahhaha at the weaponised cocaine. "If you taste it or smoke it, you get happy and do crazy things."

Which show is most responsible for your neverending avatar tears?
all of them

I didn't fall for all of those whimsical promises of greatness. Part of me still wants to watch the trainwreck but the other part of me is glad I avoided it.

Nah. I've dealt with Naruto's and Bleach's fillers arcs, I'm sure I can handle One Piece's.

I just love all the characters, and each backstory was better than the last one. The colorful visuals also really clicked with me, and I like how the fights are more than numerical face-offs. They're actual fights.

Trigger is already credited on the show as Production Assistance, so you're right about that. Both Imaishi and Amemiya are credited with Animation Layout for the CG parts of Ep1, Imaishi co-storyboarded Ep1, and Imaishi directed and storyboarded the OP. Trigger staff are definitely working very closely with Sanzigen on this project even though the actual animation production for those scenes are all Sanzigen.

Dame I envy you so much

You have tons and tons and tons of incredible moments ahead of you, it's only keeps getting better with every arc.

5 Centimeters Per Second

GAF does it again. Great movie. If it had gone a little bit further and I didn't have such trouble figuring out who was who in the ending montage, the bitch tears would have broken out. I'm definitely glad I went with the dub. Trying to juggle the visuals with the subs would have been a huge disservice to the movie.

It was really weird going from lengthy media(video games, TV series, etc) to a movie that's only an hour long. Part of me wants to complain that it was too short, but another part of me wants to say "stfu and dealwithit.gif."

After Takaki says that he quit his job, I started steeling myself for him to commit suicide. So I was totally caught off guard when he smiled at the very end. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Congrats on enjoying it. I became a crippling mental wreck for a week after I watched it.

Guilty Crown 15

Jesus Christ. Who didn't see that coming?
Hare death, accompanied by some very deleberate rape imagery when Shu forcibly takes Inori's void. Naturally, Hare's sacrifice so that Shu would be a kind king goes the complete opposite way. All this will lead to FORCED MELODRAMA.

Prepare yourselves, we're in full trainwreck mode now.

Predictions for the ending:
Shu becomes asshole, but gets results.
Saves sizable amount of students at first.
New attitude will alienate him from the rest of the crew, including Inori.
Melodrama.
Cat girl will die, probably more of his groupies too.
Inori will be separated(forcibly or willingly) and the apocalypse will once again arrive.
Will save the world.
Shuu will realize what he has become, will kill more people and possibly himself or Inori to remove the kings power.
Self sacrifice to redeem himself as a "kind king, adorned with the guilty crown"
Queue bittersweet ending, and Otakus/weaboos clamoring how amazing it is.

If I'm entertained, I consider it good. So yes, I think Geass has good writing.
ಠ_ಠ While Code Geass may have the occasional good bit of writing, primarily in the first season, the writing as whole is mediocre to bad. You need better standards.
Ugh. The PV for Gyo looks pretty bad.
What the fuck did I just watch? It's like if Syfy made an anime. Regardless, I feel like I just watched the whole thing.

Just needed some open ended prospect for a season 2, no way something this popular ends with only 22 episodes.

So late, but kind of a boring episode. Saizo is really good but always held back by the terrible and useless Isanami. Fighting was good but isnt it getting a bit too routine with how it is carried out with Saizo.
Cool attack, take tons of damage and blood, like Bleach's Kenpachi, cue rock music, miraculously win?

Oh well, Yuri makes things awesome, never get tired-please stay in all episodes!

Damn, lotta people ITT need to read Gyo. The brilliance of Ito knows no bounds.

Nobody believed me when I said the landsharks were coming. Well, whose laughing now? Nobody, because we're all dead.
we should've listened to Kawamori before it was too late...

Problem is I feel like I've seen everything thanks to that trailer. It's like Hollywood movie trailers are infecting Japan. D:
They seem to have messed around with the plot quite a bit if the PV is anything to go by so you should still check it out. Trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet!

BRS 1

1st half which was mostly retreading stuff from the OVA was weak. 2nd half with the scenes from Yomi's house and such were much better. All the BRS world stuff was pretty cool, I was pretty impressed with the cg.

I get it. She has the feelings.

Besides that, overall fun episode. Light on the emotions and more on exploring the side cast and pretty much introducing them all which I found really enjoyable. Just focus on the comedy and I would enjoy this show much more.
