FINAL FANTASY XIII-2
It's like playing an anime. Even more so than FFXIII, if for no other reason than LOL ADVENT CHILDREN PHYSICS.
Its still a fun game.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
I've been putting off watching this for years but I finally had the chance to sit down and watch this today. I thought it was a very heartwarming, funny, and bittersweet film. Makoto is a very likable protagonist and I enjoyed her character a lot. She's a goof and the way she treats the whole thing is pretty humorous. The other characters were pretty likable as well, despite her being the main focus of the film. There always seems to be a lesson when screwing around with time travel and I think the film did an awesome job capturing that. I'd already watched Summer Wars before seeing this (I enjoyed that as well) and I honestly don't think I can prefer one over the other. Both just feel like extremely different movies despite both being directed by Hosoda and such.
There's a few nitpicky things I didn't like such as the character animation and a few scenes () but I'd definitely recommend this film to almost anyone. I probably need to let a few days go by to let it settle into my head but I think it's pretty close to being one of my favorite anime in a long time.i felt like the last time leap didn't really accomplish that much but it wasn't too bad

Fairly average first episode. There was very little animation but everything else was decent I guess. Not sure if I want to watch more.
I also refuse to watch Desert Punk in Japanese because the dub is so much fun.
It lacks a certain...MARU
You should definitely watch episode 2 !!! And the soundtrack is pretty awesome, loved the action in that series.

I'll check it out, but how many episodes do I have to endure before the bloodletting starts?

The less professor the better.

Polyphonica is pretty Hnnnng. Some of you might enjoy that.
I think it takes like three for people to start gushing blood. It's only gruesome in very short bursts though.
Moribito Episode 12
Holy shit, when is the plot going to pick back up? Dont get me wrong this was a good episode but lets get this ball moving.
Well I don't know that it's their fault entirely that they have no budget. I'm sure they would make things that were much more consistent if they had the money.
Black Lion OVA dub
ahhahahahaa oh my god this shit was fucking INCREDIBLE.
Go Nagai![]()
I will gladly accept Jex's evaluation of Lagrange as average so long as he also admits Nise is below average. Otherwise fuck that hypocritical bullshit right in the ear.
It's really the fault of consumers for continuously buying SHAFT's poorly animated shows. That means SHAFT have no good argument for demanding more budget, because clearly they don't need one to make money!
My mouth spit FIRE!Do you want to be bait? IT'S DANGEROUS.
Regardless I think most studios can do a great job. I even appreciate shows by Deen and Bee Train. Doesnt really matter much what the studio is.
It's amazing how worked up this forum gets given that we are all watching a bunch of Japanese cartoons.
I mean seriously, think about it for a second.
Even the best animated stuff outside of maybe Miyazaki's work gets blown the fuck away by Disney cartoons. Anime was never really about the animation itself. Thats the strict definition of it, but its basically manga in color with sound and music and SOME movement.
Anime is about the characters and stories, and the experience of watching it. The ANIMATION part of it is laughable.
I can't really accept that 'most studios' do a great job, when the difference in quality between a Deen and a KyoAni is several orders of magnitude. They're on completely different levels.
Oh, well, I see.
But they are.
Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. That's SHAFT for you.
I'm meh about the Cowboy Bebop dub. It's not terrible but it sounds like any other dub from an anime lol.
But then again I watched it subbed first so I could be biased ;x
what the fuck happened to their facesIt also has the greatest car chase of all time

And Kanna's VA in Ano Natsu de Matteru voices Madoka in Rinne.

Theyre on different levels of funding.
Any studio is capable of producing what kyoani does.

You say that as if money is the only determiner of animation quality. Every animator does not have the same level of talent.
True but every STUDIO has plenty of talent.
Put your money where your mouth is. I want you to fund Studio DEEN to do a full, high quality adaptation of Fruits Basket.Theyre on different levels of funding.

Did everyone jump ship after Gurren Lagann?Nah. Some don't have any talent left at all, like Gainax.
At the very least, the English dialogue in Cowboy Bebop is simply on another level from the vast majority of anime. Now maybe that's true in the original as well, but good dialogue in one language is never guaranteed to be just as good once translated.
Lets not forget the overall bonus of not having to read subtitles, therefore allowing your eyes to interpret the image as the director originally intended!
That's certainly an advantage for dubs that isn't really mentioned often enough. Of course it only works when the dub is competently produced, as otherwise the benefit of viewing the work as intended is outweighed by the detriment of an audio track that fails to complement the visuals. Subs are the lesser evil in that scenario, unless they're like bright pink or have a stupid font.
Yellow is nature's color!
