Fate Stay Night 01-06
.... was me during this. Fell asleep through basically all of episode 3, a bit of 4, and could not pay attention to 5. This is a pretty boring show, why is it so popular again? Terrible character animations and music as well.
Was the original script a porn and thats why it has fans or something? cause... I'm not getting the appeal at all.

Its a bit too lewd for my liking but its Ikuhara and thats to be expected.
I just want something unique and he always delivers.
Also I love the Penguindrum singer and the random bits of French. Reminds me a lot of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tapxIZECoqo from Moonphase.
Its probably going to be very difficult to screencap here.

If you have somehow missed the previews then you must go back and watch them.

bwhahaha. Welp figures. hilarious link too. Figured, has that same kinda "something here feels off" in a half assed change kinda way. Same feeling I had watching the first few episodes of Muv Luv Alternative. I did not want to out myself too much but hell Fate Stay's animation seems on the same level of most hentai in the first place haha.
Oh well, moving on to the next "been on my harddrive for years and need to make room so I better watch this and see if I want to keep it" show.

I really, really liked Fate/Stay Zero, but I really, really disliked Fate/Stay Night (UBW) and dropped it at about the same point you're at.
I fully agree. At least PenguinDrum wasnt afraid to be different, try new things. It didnt play it safe. AT ALL. For all the ambition I think it held together pretty well consistently and thats pretty difficult to do when a show isnt just following the formulas.
You know, that might be the most perfect comparison for this that I have ever seen.
Origin is garbaggio.
The drama is heavy. The cuteness level is through the roof!
Youve done a great thing. One of the best series of the last 5 years.

I might look into that, the general concept is interesting enough I guess but yeah Night did nothing for me. Skimmed through episode 7-9 and decided to drop it.

Mazinkaiser is a pretty good OVA series. It's nothing thought-provoking by any means but it's a fun Super Robot show. Hope you enjoy it.

I think you need to watch that again then. The first episode I actually thought it was pretty good, then as it kept going there were random nuances in it that were pretty terrible. The first episode had some nice animation on hair and what not, and the quick few seconds of action were well animated as well, but then none of that was used again. The CoD style "you got hit take cover" strawberry jelly on the screen to indicate blood, the bland ass spells being thrown out...
when the spear guy comes after the main character is what really stood out, right before Sabre is summoned. Swings 3 times and misses then it literally stops with him staring off screen at the spear guy for about a full 2-4 seconds before the next hit comes instantly sending him through the door. It was so awkward it stood out in my mind that much.
I guess I need to add this to my ever growing list of things I might never see in my lifetime.

This is very true. The situation has to be daunting as there are literally thousands of shows and wading through them to find the gems is very tricky.

I actually didnt realize that when I first saw it but a bit of research soon showed it to be the case. but I actually like the premise of the holy grail wars and the servants/master system. It made for a pretty interesting series. Back then I also didnt care much that Deen made it nor was I really aware of the quality of different studios. It was a simpler anime watching time, and I miss it.

Yep, this is creation being supervised by Ikuhara alright, I certainly was not bored but I am unsure if I am on board with this show. I am wondering if I am supposed to be sympathizing with the bear people because I don't right now. Indeed, there are many questions I have that do not pertain to the dense symbolism like how did the bears get over the wall and what do they eat outside of humans and why is that sinful? So many questions, few answers right now.

Enjoyable first episode.
It certainly is a visual spectacle but I've come to expect that out of Silver Link considering the very colorful other anime they've done in the past.

There's certainly a lot of lesbian sexual imagery and plays on wording as well. The most obvious being when the bears are talking about eating humans and it turns out they spiritually eat Kureha in a very sexually suggestive way while on the other hand they actually eat Sumika. I assume their complaints about being hungry could or will always have a double meaning from now on.
It certainly is a visual spectacle but I've come to expect that out of Silver Link considering the very colorful other anime they've done in the past.
I'm very curious about what this Extinction Court. What exactly is the function? Beauty Bear seemed to be defending their 'right' to eat humans and came off as their lawyer whereas the Cool Bear was like the prosecutor with Sexy Bear acting as judge.

Because I did not/have not followed the series (which is kinda apparent by the questions in the post lol) so... I take it there is another animated version of it or and updated one or something? None of the anime sites have a listing stating any differences, just a bunch of random stuff in the franchise listed that does not help non fans like me.
This one's better in pretty much every department, take my advice and drop the one you're watching and watch this instead if you're still interested in the series: http://www.crunchyroll.com/fatestay-night

So is that the same story just updated? cause thats what I'm most confused about.
The first two episodes of the new one are an expanded version of what happens in the first two episodes of what you've seen. After that though the story changes completely.

Opening: First new OP of the year I've heard and its great. I expect nothing less from ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D.
Ending: It's alright. Can't say its one of my favorites nor is it better than the previous one though.

Not really. F/SN is a visual novel with 3 different main routes, which diverge pretty quickly. The old DEEN anime adapts the first route and the current Ufotable one is about the second.
You don't need to watch the old one to understand UBW but they follow differents paths on the story line.
basically, each route has a different main waifu for your enjoyment

The start kinda threw me for a bit. Perhaps because there's next to no preamble with much background.
I find the designs interesting in comparison to modern day equivalents; there's a sense of utilitarianism in the designs rather than over the top sharp edges and angles everywhere. I especially like the pilot suit they all wear.

Wouldn't be surprised if this were truth! I'm trying to talk a friend into finishing it - he dropped the series, pretty upset, after episode 12 back when it was airing.

Rei's episode was really nice. Usagi did get the "kill" in a way, but no actual death was needed.
The first of these two episodes was alright, but the reminder of how much they're drawing out the breakup made it not quite as easy to go down as I would've liked. This mini-arc they're doing with the sisters looks pretty exciting.

No Wolf Girls or Black Princes but I really dig this show. Can always get into a romance series that doesn't take itself way too seriously, along the lines of a KaichoMaid or Tonari and the comedy in this is a nice touch. Needs more of MC's best friend though.

I'll keep that in mind, the animation is way better, if the pace is as well then I'm in.
Aniplex probably didn't think it was worth it.
