Durara S2 1

A fun romp, if very by the numbers, in the same style as previous Drrr! with the camera jumping from character to character showing the "chaotic city" they live in. Some fanservice put here and there.
There is also a "serial killer" plot which could be taken from any numbers of LNs, a token dangerous mystery for the characters.

I think the best thing I can say for the new DRRR ep is it feels like the show never ended, which is basically what I wanted. So glad to hear this song again.

Izaya need more involvement but I like him commenting on things back there.

I am going to stop watching Full Metal Panic Fumoffu as of now (just finish Episode 6) and jump into Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid. Not saying Fumoffu is bad but like to watch the last 6 episodes after finish watching the second raid.

From the 1st half of Fumoffu, I can say it's a fun and funny show which poke fun the comedy side of Full Metal Panic for the people who like that part from the serious side. This is fine but Full Metal Panic for me is the mix of the two and how both the pacing of it match quite well in my opinion (enough serious part to make the show interesting but at the same time some slap stick comedy so, the audience don't get too depress in the story). From other Gaffer, The Second Raid will be more serious which will be interesting to see when I join in to watch it.

Me for two and a half years.

Considering the last two first-episodes of the franchise were setup episodes this was pretty standard affair. I'm a bit worried about said setup since it seems to be leading to evil-dark-demon-things that season 1's endgame was all about. Whether the staff can pull off such things this time around after S2's fluffiness is yet to be determined but I'm just glad there's THREE MORE MONTHS OF MOFUS.

RIVALS

Everything about Haru and that other guy friend of hers is so terrible and boring. The show is terrible at world building and only good at throwing its random terms around. For a story so far that was about traveling there is zero sense of geography and progression through the land. It looks same all the time, Sentan Island scenes are completely terrible. All the characters there just suck, very amateurish. The attack on the ship was ok though that's about it. I'm guessing this show must have bombed really hard.

So basically it goes like this after watching and reading through posts....

-Wife's friends talk about Matchy.
-Husband overheard the conversation and misunderstood it thinking Matchy is the wife.
-Husband because of this grew distrustful,suspicious,hateful and distant.
-Which leads to the wife feeling neglected and lonely thus she cheats but felt regrets/guilty.
-Wife got pregnant with husband's child therefore she decides to cut off the fling which explains the flashback where she doesn't want to answer the fling's call while in the car.
-Car crashes.
-Start of Death Parade ep 1 where it plays out.
-Wife did confess she cheated but at the same time add a lie about she is Matchy to make her husband feel better.

Now I can see where you are coming from but I disagree. Directors have a number of tools to convey important information to the audience such as shot length, composition, editing etc.

With regards to the namecard they hold on that shot for a whole 7 seconds. If that wasn't enough, the framing ensures that namecard is the card of the show (thus communicating that it's key focus of the shot) and the camera is positioned fairly close to the namecard further ensuring that we realise it's importance. That's the most a director can do to tell you its improtant beyond having the letters be made into a flashing neon sign. By not translating this all Funi do is rob the shot of it's meaning that would be obvious to anyone who reads Japanese.

I completely agree, this was a huge fuck up on Funimation's part. For a series like this, they need to be more aware and translate every possible thing.

Holy shit there is actually a character who's a Chinese gold farming bot, and stuck somewhere between NPC and PC. That alone is far more interesting then anything SAO tried to do. And she fights using two shields!

Plot seems to be speeding up now. I still don't really get what's going on with Kureha though.

Love it.

Wan Days is back and I am glad for it. The reason I like this opening episode is because we get another taste of what the world outside of the three kingdom is like and get to see some of the wildlife there as well. Also get some reference towards the demons that were a thing in the beginning of the series but hardly got referenced again. I look forward to more!

I mean, I am not alluding that the director didn't wish to draw attention to the card, even though there were a lot of misses in the episode, I'm just playing devil's advocate saying that it's not necessarily the way the director would have wanted it presented. Ultimately you will never get to the director's original vision with any translation and you are better off learning Japanese!

Dialogue wise, it's just one short, VN oriented conversation so far. + The usual visual references. I think the Mahouka door is there to stay though.

Fafner itself is one of the best mecha, both the series and the movie. Great designs, great premise and action, and entertaining characters. One of the best duo in all anime is here. Watch it, for its in the holy trinity of mecha of all time.

Aldnoah Zero 2-1

I'm happy it's back as I always enjoy the strategic takedowns (grenades to create heat in the space in order to approach? that shit is awesome). But I have to say... I can accept Sauzbaum, who was only shot in the chest (iirc). I can accept the princess, because she is seemingly in a coma. I can accept Slaine turning because I have a feeling he's still sworn to the princess, just playing along to keep her alive.

But Inaho Aldnoah magic is bullshit. I mean, I guess Aldnoah has to have some way to transfer other than via birthline (how else would they have inherited it in the first place) but until I get a better explanation, bullshit.

Story is kind of incomprehensible now, but bottom line is that it feels like what Kill la Kill might be minus the fan service and with a better budget. I'm so down for this.
