Juuou Mujin no Fafnir 1 (Unlimited Fafnir) - This incredibly generic harem action show is so uninteresting that no one has bothered to say anything about it since the first episode aired outside of that one haiku post. And it's easy to see why, there's nothing original or interesting to be found here, just generic garbage harem idiocy. Warning: spoilers about what happens in the first episode. If anyone actually cares.
In this world, giant monsters called dragons or "D" have appeared on Earth, and destroy things. But after their appearance, people, almost all female, with the power of "D" (dragons) have also appeared. These girls and the male MC are being trained at a special school to be able to fight the dragons. At the end of the first episode, though, we learn that actually the people with dragon powers can BECOME dragons if they get too close to the matching dragon. There's lots of potential for grimdark stuff here, since the dragons of course must be destroyed and apparently there's no known way to turn a dragon back into a human, but I'm going to guess the series won't go down that road, or at least not much. Other than that element this feels more like something like the other shows in its genre, not that dark stuff, but we'll see.
So, the main character is the only guy in a school of otherwise all girls. This is now a very common and popular setting for this kind of series. Naturally, he is the only guy who has the power of dragons; all of the others with the power of D (lol) are girls. Currently he is weak, but I am sure that in notime he'll be stronger than all the girls because he's male and they aren't and this kind of anime is usually very sexist (it's magic, so "men are stronger in real life" doesn't apply!).
As is also expected in many of these "one guy in a school of all girls" series, the series starts with the guy seeing one of the girls naked. Seriously, I've seen this plot point in at least a half dozen of these things already, it's getting very old! This time, though, the girl doesn't react as much as some do; she's not tsundere, and her magic never works anyway so her attempt to attack him fails. So yeah, the main girl is the cute-failure type. I wonder if she ever gets competent.
As for other girls, there's one princess type who reminds me a lot of Cecelia in IS (with wind magic), another girl, and the MC's sister. One of those two has ice magic, I forget the other. Naturally, the MC's sister is curt with him in this episode and is the student council president, but he tells cute-failure girl that his sister used to be like her, so I guess she's worked hard to better herself all so she can prove herself to onii-sama, or some idiotic garbage like that. I'm just guessing, but this series hasn't missed any other opportunities to regurgitate a stupid trope, and his sister IS one of the girls, so it's got to have some kind of idiotic incest element to it.
So, after the requisite sees-girl-naked scene and then his introduction to campus, they have class and then do some combat practice. Cute-failure girl fails as always, while the other three girls show their powers. MC guy currently can't do much, but as I said, no way will that stay the same. This series is terribly written generic garbage, not something with some actual quality like Trinity Seven (and yes I mean that). Then at the end MC and cute-failure girl have another scene, the end.

Overall, this is a completely awful show. Don't watch it unless you like making yourself suffer by watching bad anime. 
And if the characters DID start dying off, at this point I wouldn't care much; the show has done nothing to get me to care about them one bit. I just watched the episode yesterday, but already can't remember even one character's name. The characters are bland and boring, none of them are interesting at all, and everything proceeds entirely according to formula. Animes are usually unoriginal, but this is a textbook case of how bad that can get. And finally... I wonder if the writers have any idea how silly the "girls and a guy with the power of 'D'" thing sounds in English...

The series description also mentions him promising "I'll be the one to kill you" to her, which hasn't happened yet, but I presume it'd be about 'if you turn into a dragon', since as this episode says the "D" people can turn into dragons if the matching dragon type finds them.

Though not an all together surprising turn of events the revelation in episode 8 really sparks the shit hitting the fan all over the place. Now the attention taken by the series to highlight specific moments of development for the characters makes a bit of sense as the payoff of these episodes is amplified that much more. Before this point the series was a mildly entertaining magical girl show with some light and fluffy character development and sprinkles of poorly choreographed fights. After this point I feel like the show found a way to really "define" itself. And though that's sort of a vague and roundabout way of saying that the show found a way to really hook me after this point I really think it sort of solidified itself in these moments as something more than just a generic Magical Girl show in a post-Madoka world.
Red Ranger is best.

I let my feelings for the finale stew for a bit after completing the series but I can't help but feel unsatisfied about how things ended up playing themselves out.
But blah, a fumbled ending with a fumbled excuse to have
isn't the most grievous of things I suppose. I enjoyed watching this series and would probably recommend it to someone who wanted to watch a pretty decent magical girl show. This is probably gonna show up somewhere on my AOTY list.

Ahhh, now this is the Parasyte I know and love. As others have said, this show is markedly better when the love interests aren't competing with actual important happenings for screen time.

There's really no satisfactory explanation for how EVERYONE got their bodies back. Yuki did absolutely nothing exceptional with respect to using her Mankai in the way that she did and to see the world somehow bend over backwards to put her specific act on a pedestal is disappointing. Every magical girl in this series who used their Mankai after having found out the truth about the mechanic was using it in just as heroic a fashion and the way the finale was handled sort of retroactively goes back and makes those specific acts "less" as a whole. Even if we accept the contrivance that somehow Yuki somehow shouldered the burdened of every crippled magical girl there's still no further explanation for how she specifically was able to get "back" from her coma state. This series desperately needed an OVA to fill in some of the blanks for the world as a whole.

Hey man if Marvel comics has taught me anything about phoenixes its that I'd better gear up for long, long periods of disappointment
First half was the "ecchi" portion which was mostly dialogue with some heavy innuendo. Second half of the ep was like historical fantasy anime before the two intersected with some neat results.
Ecchi was there but was tame by anime standards at least for the first episode. Certainly "smarter" than the typical harem supernatural demon/angel/alien trash. Takes place during some alt history version of the Hundred Years War so the setting is interesting. I really like Maria's character design and it seems like the premise has some promise. Give it a shot.

I'm not qualified to be any type of art critic (or anime critic!) but the art style in this episode was simply incredible. The episode started with same style as every other episode with some glaring standouts. Herr doktor's ship has taken on an abstract shape that somewhat resembles how it appeared in previous episodes. After an event in the episode the episode loses color and takes on a monochrome appearance.
The space ships and environments look very hand drawn with a pencil or paint brush like texture over them. A stark contrast to the typical animation style with hard colours with various shades to represent shadows.
Nearing the end of the episode the space ships start to look even more abstract, barely resembling what they originally looked like.
Overall a very good episode. The art style does wonders to enhance what would otherwise be a typical episode or alien hunting. However, I don't want to undervalue the story of the episode which was very good as well! However, rather than trying to describe why it works well with the artstyle I think it's best this episode be experienced in person.

Remove the DTB title card and the 3 seconds of Hiei and the cop girl from the original series and you wouldn't even think those videos were related at all.
I do like the idea of Hiei and/or a more experienced contractor losing their powers and having to escort a younger/weaker contract who's still adjusting to their abilities, this is just a complete bungling of that idea though.

Watching out of order because I mixed up which episode I'm on... It actually worked out because the contrast of this episode and 11's was even more impactful. While Dandy11's use (or lack) of colours was done phenomenally the use of vibrant colours and shapes in this episode was also well done. In each scene the use of one colour as the main visual set the tone. Sometimes the dialogue didn't match what is usually expected from that colour tone but for the most part it worked. The creature design was spot on as everything felt organic and I could immediately tell they were of some plant like origin. Another good episode, keep it up Dandy!

Just finish Iria: Zeiram the Animation. Love this old sci-fi show. Tons of action fighting scene and good pacing. Kinda wish it was a bit longer and maybe develop more of the characters but from what I see, it was good enough. Kinda miss those old anime from the past. Going to watch Battle Angel next after this.

This episode goes no where and everywhere all at once. One one had it's a story of wanting to leave home and make your family proud. On the other it's time travel anime in a nutshell.
The exploration of Meow's character and the world he grew up in was welcome. The relationship between his father and him could be described as friendly. However, once Meow returns home he feels that he has done nothing of accomplishment to impress his family. His father doesn't seem to care yet it eats away at Meow. Yet despite this desire to impress, Meow does not strive for better once he leaves as he reverts to the lazy slob he usually is.
The humor in this episode is some of Dandy's best. Meow's alien cat culture could be described as a mix of 70s America and modern Japan. For an alien species it doesn't make any sense but given the already established tone of most episodes it works in a weird way. Good episode, one of the better ones.
