1. Those aren't mechs.

2. The quality is less than stellar since I only just saw the conversation about good CG and wanted to post the clip on short notice.

3. There's tons of more great CG in Majin Bone and it's a legit great show that you should watch.

the Girls Und Panzer series came to my mind. There were some scenes in the movie that was breathtaking to look at, and it wouldn't have been possible without the usage of 3DCG.

As hosanna said, Fafner Exodus has some good usages of 3D for quicker movements, and 2D for closeups and effects. Not completely seamless, but it works out pretty well.

I felt Kuromukuro does a pretty good job of it, though it pretty clearly separates the 2D animation and 3D action scenes, so I'm not sure if that's exactly what you mean. There's also, I believe, a segment of Me!Me!Me! that switches to 3D for a bit and it looks pretty good.

One one hand, I like how serious the situation is in this series. Like sometimes the hero's get a new power up and it still isn't enough to take the bad guy down because they are simply just that outclassed, or how sometimes even stopping a major catastrophe like the 12 guardian's did here was all part of the villains plan. Love that deviousness

But they have got to stop teasing us with the kiss and confession thing. The episode title was about them kissing and we didn't get that!

Like they where nearly lip locked and Rokuro has to pull back to finally tell Benio what he was going to say to that girl that confessed to him a few epsiodes ago that she'd been angesting over only to be interrupted by the villian's master plan.

Like just kiss her you fool, sometimes actions are more powerful then words.

In a season without actual good comedies like Konosuba and Kobayashi, I might have watched this. Considering it does have good comedies, though, about the only thing this show has going for it is the amusingly vulgar humor. Sadly, even repeatedly calling the female lead a slut couldn't carry the second episode, and they left the funny side characters behind in episode 1. Dropped.

Now they formed a light music club, because surprise, the girl that loves listening to music wants to now make music.

i mean the animation was gorgeous but i actually kinda think maybe the v/o was higher tier sometimes. and the writing. and reigen. jesus, reigen.

i was a bit dispirited that for an episode or two it became kinda like the bit in OPM manga where they're just kinda running through corridors and fighting guys but it led to a really great climax so i'm happy about it.

I get it tbh. This really isn't the type of show that your average anime viewer would like. Although it may just be a joke, and not trying to offend anyone since I am watching it too, I wonder if the bolded is the reason why it is resonating with some of us here lol. I wouldn't exactly say "scum" but maybe "jaded" folks when it comes to relationships/dating in this day and age.

Honestly, Scum's Wish is appealing to me because it handles topics in a way most anime don't. Even if it stumbles, I will always appreciate a work of art trying something new/doing something different over something that does something regular very well.
