Tamako Market 01

This show is precious. Several of the girls remind me of K-on characters. a good thing to be sure. Even the Azu-nyan clone isn't bad. The bird (a cockatiel of some sort) is a total asshole but I like him. He's an adorable jerk. Tamako is nuclear moe. The show overall has a weird vibe to it but I like it thus far. As much as Chuunibyo? Well that time will tell. So far not quite as much. But its really adorable still.

That's a far better description than I could have ever come up with ;). Of course now I want to see some figures.

Is the Gintama anime any good?
I mean, is there a point in watching it if you're already reading the manga?

Best part of gintama is reading the subs, the worst part is having to listen to the same annoying 2-3 music tracks over and over and over for who knows when it gets new music.

Voice performances are okay it's hard to notice it being special when the characters are intended to be so monotone.

I would say the manga is better since there's no sound in a manga

Yes. The anime is so much better than the manga.

Not sure how, but when does the anime gets some new music tracks am sick of listening to the same 2-3 :(

Speaking of bad CGI. I have been trying to do a intro for a short Youtube thing i was doing in Sony Vegas (...Vegas is EASY to learn, even easer than photoshop if that is even fucking possible and I have used Photoshop for 8 fucking years on and off - i was up and running in Vegas in 6 hours. 6 HOURS. and Sony does EVERYTHING video related with this...EVERY DAMN THING)

So back to the bad CGI - so i did my reseach on this...Trokia, the other folks in H-Wood uses C4D (and i remember back when i was in the artist site shadowness that one of my crushes was using C4D) so i said, its just 17 seconds, what could hurt? Demo runs. Cant save. Locked to 640X480 (which fucks up my vid because its in 1080p outside a few clips) tried to export logo from photoshop so i can try and rig the thing. "sorry, give maxxon 3,000 bucks for 17 seconds of trying to look GOOD)- then brainstorm... still working on my masters... student version! tried that - one problem. Nobody has worked in C4D in the university. Out of luck.

So did a little more reseach. Many of the Japanese CGI houses uses a mixture of autodesk maya, 3ds and C4D but none of it is good because of lack of support language and money wise. They even use their own CGI programs in house and you can see the results.

Same here. and nice avatar! Tamako is sooooo cute! :D

Agreed. Tamako is adorable! I smile whenever I see my avatar.

Well, since I'm participating in backlog season, I might as well talk about Windy Tales episode 1.

The sun glare effect in Windy Tales is kinda annoying. Not a fan. I'm also not sure what to think of the designs, but they do lend themselves to some interesting animation every now and then.

I thought the pacing was good. For a low-energy anime, a lot happened in this episode and a lot of information was given. I think the episode managed to pull this off due to the amount of montages and flashbacks it had. They did a good job of conveying what needed to be conveyed, while leaving enough time for the dialogue in the show to be comfortably paced. Props to the director for his good sense in picking and choosing. It was a very smooth experience.

As far as the story goes, the show does a good job keeping your interest by giving you an arc for the episode. Starting with the mystery of the cat, it builds up with the suicide discussion (in which the protagonist tries to understand what happened and we get a better sense of who the protagonist is) and with the search. Finally, the mystery is resolved and we have a clear understanding on where the anime plans to go afterward.

It's definitely an interesting anime. There are still some things I find questionable, like how the protagonist asks Ryoko if Ryoko is in love with Taichi-sensei (why include that?), overlaying the text on the screen, and the sun glare, but those are just minor nitpickings.

Huh? It's hard to tell if this is a troll or not. I find the voice work to be one of the best aspects of Gintama as they really bring the subtitles to life.

As for the music, I'll admit there certain tracks which are used quite often but isn't this the same with any long running anime? Over the course of the show there has been plenty of new music added. Have you watched the entire series yet?

Edit:

Ahhhh.

I do remember the music being more repetitive during the beginning of Gintama. Hmm, forget exactly when more tracks are introduced. If memory serves me correctly any mid to major arc after the first 100 episodes adds new tracks.

While I am well aware that the anime compresses the storyline I don't really have any desire to visit the original source material. I don't really want to experience the work without hearing the music. I know that doesn't make any sense because of course the original source material doesn't have audio but it's not a prospect that appeals to me. The story may be more satisfying in an uncompressed format but for whatever reason I don't feel like revisiting it. I'm good.

I can certainly understand that. And although it's clear to see that the series definitely benefited from being having that complement of music, I was also sufficiently interested in the characters and the setting (as well as the era). So I'm curious to see whether or not the manga leverage's those points more effectively.

I don't think I would have had nearly the same interest in it (the manga) based on premise alone, so at least have the anime to thank for that.

Fucksuen no Tempfuck - Episode 13

Fuck this show. Fuck it.

I'll take that as everyone died in episode 12, THE END.

Or does curiosity get the better of me.

Ai Mai Mi - 02

I absolutely completely forgot what this was, but I knew I had watched the first one.

I don't think anything good that can come out of being curious about half a recap episode. :(

- No new OP
- Half a recap episode
- The other half is just equally bad shit
- New ED sucks

The Light of El Cantare
Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman 1

Seriously though, those gold coins were terrible as was the scene after Roman rescued the chicken and the emblem on his jacket didn't move like it was floating over the rest of the jacket that did. Toothless dog is fucking creepy too.

I'm surprised that no one else who watched the episode mentioned what I think is the most amusing piece of QUALITY art.

Look at this anatomical model--whoever drew it started the skeleton half, did the skull, got to the neck, said "fuck it, drawing a skeleton's too hard" and just drew muscle from there down. Just look at that attempt at a rib cage :lol

Rich Man, Poor Woman 5

Poor Hyuga.
He never asked for this.

There is an anime for this show? I was watching the drama which came out last season.

Also, I need suggestions as to what to watch from this season. I would like something that starts fresh, as in not Season 2 or a show that requires I watch the prior season before hand to be up to date.
Any genres are welcome, but nothing too exaggerated i.e. tooo cute, too bloody, tooo perverted, etc.

Thank you.

I didn't say the voice work was bad just it's hard to notice when the characters are intended by the creator the manga author to be monotone(lazy laid back attitude) , yes the voice working is really fitting and natural to a point you don't think about it and the exaggerated monuments are done really well, that's when you notice how good it is.

The music sound track for a shounen up to the point I seen episode 27, is very poor and very lacking by shounen average standards, am not comparing it whole runs but shounens up to that same point.

For example toriko started with 20-30+ nearly or all awesome tracks but continued to surprise me with even more out of nowhere epic tracks to accompany the great set piece moments, very early on.

Another example rurouni kenshin started off with a similar problem as gintama when it abused thesame 2 to 3 tracks but that changed with each canon arc with more tracks being add(the problem was only short lived), by episode 18 I was rocking to completely different set of mortal kombat sounding tracks.

It's been 27 episode with gintam it's long long over overdue for some godamn new music something good please so far it brings great shame to shounen everywhere.

Am not even joking every single episode so far have used the exact same music for each episode.

Episode 1 of TTGL is an encapsulation of the entire story in itself and absolutely amazing.
They also ended up working on that first episode for almost a year, practically more time than they spent working on the later half of the series as a whole!

No one is a good SHAFT fan until they've seen Natsu no Arashi.
And are also able to recognize all the references of old Japanese artists on it (http://teleani.blog62.fc2.com/blog-entry-440.html).

Also I can't picture that damn bird as anyone other than Kayneth....

... which I find hilarious!
'Fast Wheels' spirit lives on... through an obese parrot, or similar bird-resemblant... thing.

Here are some photos of the actual market that Tamako Market is based off of.

Well, some might want to piece the timeline together by themselves...
There is always the ever present (and requited) one already made:

Get to the Kyoto arc yet? Kenshin's soundtrack turns amazing there.

Geez, you guys severely overcomplicate the criteria for being Shaft fans.

No need to go through all that trouble to identify yourself, just don't be a SHAFT fan!

I miss my old sammie flip-phone. If I am ever gonna give up my iPhone and go back to flip, this is the only one I want...

It looks futuristic 'n all, but it also looks like it would slip out of your hand easily. :(

Well Isshiki is better than half the girls, so why not really.

Realest ranks:

Nibutani > Dekomori > Touka > the Mom > Utah's sister > Utah's other sister > Rikka's mom > the Grandmother > Rikka > Kumin

I almost agree with this list. I just think that it should be: the Grandmother > Dog > Rikka > Kumin

Wounded Man 2

So the rapist gets his backstory told while the raped girl follows him around lamenting how she can never be in his heart. She also recognizes him as a pro football player by his running stance. wtf

Backstory is pretty bad too what with the young lovers who just met going to such extreme lengths for one another when he refuses a small fortune to perform in the porno and she's all about protecting his virtue against the villainous filmmakers. Back in the present in Brazil, he hires a female shipwright to build him a ship and she just so happens to want his dick too. The raped girl that loved him gets killed while shileding him from gunfire when the mafia fucking shows up. Later, when a river patrol stops them, the shipwright strips naked and proceed to argue with rapistguy to create the illusion of quarreling lovers. She finally gets that dick she wanted for her troubles while their boat gets inspected. The things you do for revenge.

This shit is so terrible. The whole male power fantasy is taken to such an extreme that Sword Art Online looks tame in comparison.

This sounds like madness. Almost piques my interest enough to watch it.

Was this posted already? Sasami-san pv3.

Try not to go blind during the first 15 seconds.
