I guess one criticism that can be levied against it in that context is that it lacks a clear focus in what kind of story it's trying to say. But then again this was an establishing episode. I am sure this will change very quickly in the episodes that are to follow as the show shifts from trying to establish the world and tries to establish a narrative. (or not, it's not like there is a written law somewhere that dictates that all shows need to have an overarching story arc, then again, I would say the bird looking for the bride is probably going to be it and the implication was there)
