Smile's EDs were very good as well. It's only a matter of time before Precure becomes the future of anime.
Best part is that they don't seem to be using motion capturing; it's all manual animation.

I tried to tell you guys. Dokidoki is Heartcatch for having human-based monsters in the same way that Glass Fleet is like Cowboy Bebop for having spaceships.

You should learn to take his hype like duckroll hype. Invert expectations! Will improve your enjoyment.
And the fact that it's really well done. Quality speaks for itself.
Even if you view it as a designated "show for girls", those moments that you highlight are relatively few and far between. I managed to get past them.

More than a "porn artist". PERESTROIKA's Kiyoshirō Inoue is his 'dōjin' creator pen-name... he is the animator Yoshihiro Nakamura.
We should be calling a lot more of the people in that industry porn artists otherwise!
It is really impressive, but just a thought... aren't they using a lot of 'CG animators' to achieve that for such a short fragment?

Quite a lewd episode.
It was ok. Had potential with all the gags but the delivery wasn't there or I just wasn't that interested. Probably didn't help they were chucking infodumps in between the gags so they were drowned by WORDS.

Don't kill my pipe dream. I'm aware making a minute and a half short is different from making a fifty episode show.
Nah, the one friend I admitted to liking Sailor Moon to IRL mocked me for it mercilessly until I had to stop talking to him.
Is ToonamiGAF going to be comfortable with the fact that Soul Eater has a female protagonist? Seems like the kind of thing that would elicit a GIT DIS MOE SHIT OUT MAH MANIME response in some people.
The OP and the ED are both pretty bad.
I was joking around. It is kinda funny though how Yoshida had to do the adaptating as he's fairly conservative in regards to design for the most part. That said, Adette was the only one with that ridiculous design and it's only been shown so far in the first episode.
That one can be explained that more weight = slower buggy, I don't know the logistics of that with them being in zero gravity though.

I disagree about the ED. The song is catchy (p-p-p-purikyua~) and the visuals aren't bad at all. They somehow managed to make the designs look not hideous too.

That's because the character designs translate startlingly well to creepy CG butterface anyway. I just wasn't impressed, but good if anyone else is.

How come we didn't get any actual spanking action, imagined or otherwise, in Kotoura-san episode 4? Damn show can't properly choose when to be lewd or not. We get the grandfathers fantasy but no spanking? No swollen behind rubbing?
That is amazing.

I don't mean it doesn't appeal to girls, I can't argue against that nor would I, I'm saying they didn't actively search out to grab the younger female audience in the way something like Precure or MLP does. The fact that those kinds of scenes are few and far between is mainly based on how the manga is, rather than them just trying to tone it down. Though those scenes are toned down a bit from manga.
That has nothing to do with their dirty thoughts.
Apparently spanking is one step too far, even if they talked about eating her out last week.

THis was almost painful to watch now that I've caught up on the manga. Not even non-megane Rika could stop me from dropping this half way through the second part. I mean, literally everything about it is so much better than this it's not even funny. The art, the humor, the characterizations, the pacing, even the chuuni and index clone are likeable characters in it!
I can't agree, but I think this is dependent on what you want out of it.
Buriki's beautiful character illustrations are the life of Haganai to me, so I want the TV series to show me those characters walking and talking.
The manga adaptation is well-drawn and expressive, but the characters aren't pretty.
(And Kobato is more than lovable in the anime!)
Toonami has shown Sailor Moon, Powerpuff Girls, Cardcaptors, (naming this anime spoils a plot twist in it)

Everyone knows Touka was the reason to watch the show. Too bad she was so underused.
Space Brothers
I monitored the impressions and waited until it appeared the arc was over. I watched episodes 39-43 in one sitting and it was some the of the best anime I have seen in awhile. I voted the show #1 for 2012 and it is already on pace to be #1 for 2013. Episode 43 was the third time Space Brothers has made me cry.

So I went and watched Dokidoki Precure 1 because people were saying it was good and similar to Heartcatch, and because I saw Umakoshi in the credits.
I had never seen any Precure episode that wasn't from HC, and my first impression is that I respect Umakoshi even more now; the aesthetics of this are horrible, and unlike HC's cartoony approach they can't compensate for the low budget Toei uses per episode.
That said, the CG ending is insane.

Kind of completely missed this, but apparently Mai Mai Miracle is running a limited tour of the UK as part of the Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme over the next couple of months.
Unfortunately, the sole London screening as, errr, five hours ago. Guess I'll catch it when it plays locally, though.

You know, listen here, Kotoura-san being pure is exactly the reason spanking works, no, exactly the reason why it's necessary.

It wasn't as good as I thought it might be but it certainly wasn't bad. As an adaptation of the TV stuff, it surprised me in just how complete it felt. If anything, I should have given this some time rather than hitting it directly after the tv eps.
- Shinensgumi inclusion in the movie itself seemed like a weird bit of unnecessary fanwank
- I liked how they handled the flashbacks earlier to give a better sense of progression rather than leaving it mostly as hooks for later TV stuff.
- Final action scene was so hot and really gave a sense of just who Katsura & Gintoki used to be rather than the usual hinting.
- extra violence was a nice touch
- fuckin' :lol @ the bookends

You know those old 60's cartoons that are so bad they are awesome? Rocket Robin Hood ranks high on the list. Sadly many do not know of this Canadian classic. Watchers of the 60's Spiderman cartoon may recognize Dementia 5. The Spiderman animation team reused material they had previously drawn for this episode of RRH.
If your looking for a quick diversion from anime then walk no farther. RRH is awesomely campy, this episode especially trippy. Enter the realm of Infinata, Dementia 5.

Would I ever recommend a show and not be upfront about it being terrible? Vampire Princess Miyu TV comes at the standard magical girl tropes and formula from a new angle and it's a genuinely great show. Admittedly it's come at the genre from a horror angle but that's a perfectly legitimate angle. It's got an awesome soundtrack, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0hZ3vbjFWY

Nice to look at, but not as good as the original. The ending lacked the same punch. They would have been better off cutting it short by a few minutes so the comparison with the original couldn't be made. Insert song wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, but I doubt it'll catch on.
