Tamako Market 06:

Super cute as usual! :D The characters in this show continue to warm my heart with their incredible sincerity! Though it is about time we got a Kanna centered episode, but it seems next week will focus elsewhere.

Jojo 16 -17: These episodes got me thunderstruck. And I'm not staying that because they focus on ACDC.
Mech Strotheim is back! Unexpected but so badass
That stupid Jojo has a crush on the wrong girl. If Lisa Lisa dies, I'm gonna fill a complaint to the author so he can rewrites that part. Who cares about ugly Suzy Q?

She is a woman who will fuck whenever, where-ever if it's with the right person.

Sounds like a normal plot for anime.

You'd be about 20+ years late for that complaint.

I guess I lack something that makes me unable to enjoy or even find a purpose in these girls do mundane things for comedy anime. Just really bad and dull the whole first half of exploring what an impression is. Even random pop culture references couldnt salvage that mess. Reusing the same mecha scene though with changes was entertaining and one of them did make me laugh in the skit
she popped out the melon, and it sounded like the others finally laughed, but it was just so awkward how she was dancing in the melon...

Sazae-san Episode 5,762 or "Hair Growth: Majiku de!"

This episode has Wakame wanting to look like the girls in the magazine she reads with their long flowing black hair. Cue joke about how Namihei is bald headed and can't have a new hairstyle.

Katsuo then has the genius idea of how to give his sister the hair she wants. Unfortunately he could only give her the hair by drawing on a photograph of her. Katsuo gets scalded for scribbling on his sister's photo. Norisuke luckily has a poster made of the unedited picture. Everyone is happy. The end.

So.. when are they going to climb the mountain?

Awesome backgrounds as usual. I want Yuusuke Matsuo back to KA though, maybe he's busy with the IM@S movie.

Haven't you seen Haganai?

No. I'm only mildly familiar with it through doujinshi. I tend to not watch ecchi series because I just find them to be a giant cock tease. It's like, oh great, I saw your butt and your crotch and now you're going away? Are you gonna actually do something for me, or *insert next gag* Maybe I'm missing the point. But I can't help the fact that even the slightest bit of ecchi causes me to become incredibly aroused like some kind of boy. In the end, it's kind of like doing 24 minutes of male kegals, but with erections involved.

She is a woman who will fuck whenever, where-ever if it's with the right person.

Hmmm...

Rika from Haganai. Read the superior manga.

Thanks for the suggestion. I might do this - I could absorb the story and characters in a fraction of the time...

Really? No seriously?

If so... I may just have to take a punt on one. Not sure which considering how expensive their BDs are (with shipping) but I'd love to be able to watch one on the PS3.
For example, here's the Yesasia link for the Code Geass Akito OVA:
http://www.yesasia.com/us/コードギアス-亡国のアキト-第1章-blu-raydisc-cd付初回限定盤-日本版/1031547344-0-0-0-en/info.html
It says "Blu-ray Region A" like all of their Japanese BD entries.

But if we look at the product description on Amazon Japan:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0098SCWH4/
There's an English product description after the Japanese:

Product Description
The side story takes place in 2017 a.t.b., around the time Lelouch took on the alter-ego “Zero”…

[Limited Edition]
<Bonus>
Drama CD, 24-page booklet, Ending illustration cards, audio commentary and more!

*Volume 1 includes Episode 1.
*This product comes with a sleeve case illustrated by Character Designer Takahiro Kimura and a jacket illustrated by general Director of Animation Shuichi Shimamura.
*This Blu-ray Disc is region-free and includes English subtitles.

(I don't mean to imply that Amazon is a better source of info on region locking; it's not. Amazon Japan listings generally also have "Region A" on everything even though it's wrong, just like Yesasia. Every now and then there's one that's actually properly labeled region-free, like Akito, so I just used it as an example.)

I think most Japanese publishers simply don't think about region coding at all, and have their discs pressed with default options (which is apparently "region free" for BDs and "region 2-only" for DVDs), and since the publishers aren't thinking about it, they don't inform the retailers, so the retailers don't have the info and mark everything "A" just in case.

Wow Sharkkan is easily the best new character since Judar. Sure not on Judar's level but still really entertaining and fun. I hope he maintains a significant presence this arc. I didnt catch the other character at the end there
on the boat with what seemed like a face scar, whoever he is also has potential to be good character I think. Though with my record, I bet he's bound to be a losing antagonist like Judar :(

Al Sarmen is a good antagonist but with I guess with only nine episodes left and hundreds of chapters of source material, this plot point wont be fully developed, explored, and concluded within the time frame :( So I guess no more Judar moments nor conquering dungeons.

The musical track during the introduction of the generals (most are atrocious, a dragonman...really?) was really good. The vocals (english) made it one of the best songs on the OST and the singer sounds familiar. I wonder when the ost releases.

Pretty much, everything from the art to the humor and pacing is way better.

This is technically correct, but it also means you miss out on Misato Fuuken reciting mecha-on-mecha doujinshi action.
There's always the unaired 13th episode for that and youtube for the rest of the weird outbursts.

First of all, this is an excellent show to watch after finishing a route in a VN. The entire lively atmosphere build by the character cast is extremely infectious.

Loved today's episode, lots of Kanna time. A haunted house in the summer looks like odd timing to me, but what do I know.

Sazae-san Episode 5,925 or "If it ain't broke..."

Katsuo goes to Ikura's place to push his little tricycle around. Suddenly his arm is broken and in bandages. This is all an elaborate ploy by Katsuo to trick Tamao for some reason. The plan fails because Katsuo put the bandage on the other arm later on which Tamao noticed.

Sazae then goes to the shops with Tamao and he almost gets run over by a bicycle. Namihei then goes to the bicycle shop to buy a bicycle for Tamao. Namihei may be on the titlecard but he hardly does anything in this episode.

I like Cham now despite her pants apparently being skin tone so she flies around looked like she's bareass.

For some reason, when the episode opens with the phrase "Fortunate are those that remember the tale of Byston Well," I think of madpierrot.

I wish there were more good hentai anime, instead of just ecchi. To Love-Ru Darkness received such a high level of polish and care, and yet I recently watched a hentai based off of an Asaki Takayuki manga and it was just garbage. I'm not saying I expect TLRD quality, but the types of shows that are released are simply horrible. Shiwasu No Okina has an OVA (now at 5 episodes) and it's decent enough to look at it, but it the animation is so stiff that it's actually closer to a picture book than an animation. They're also far less erotic than the source material (despite looking almost identical in some scenes), and have absolutely zero humor. Where's my modern-era Cream Lemon series? :/

I'm gonna hate-watch the next episode of Lolita Anime.

I'm still mad that Swing Out Sisters' second episode will never release since the company went under. It was too good for the modern vanilla hentai anime scene.

Holy fuck, given how this has been a shitheap so far, I wasn't expecting an animation showcase on this level as well as a good ep. Pure mechaporn and delicious mechanical animation that exceeds what one would expect from an OVA episode.

Boy, this sure is slow, boring, and meaningless. I'm not really sure what I was even supposed to get out of this episode. I would imagine there's a shift coming with the next episode, so at least there will be that.

It sort of just came to me again that this show is set in the past. They really don't do a lot with that...

Speaking of the Precurists making their own OT, where's the Extollere Hentai thread?

Christmas party episode that honestly wasn't quite as enjoyable as I thought it'd be. Maybe it's because Miki has hit it big when she's one of the worst ones. Come on. How is Makoto not "new idol of the year" or whatever. Or Takane, or Azusa, or Chihaya? They're so much better.

Anyway, Makoto kind of casts a cloud on the party when she speculates that this may be the last time they're ever able to do something like this together. Kind of fits that the show is nearing a close on her comment, because the girls just aren't going to be able to get together nearly as much when they're so busy.

Good to see you back!

Didn't really understand why they made it out that being an X-Rounder is a bad thing, after all of what happened in Gen 2 with Asemu wanting to be an X-Rounder so badly, it really doesn't make any sense. Although none of this story is written well so...

Yep the story is a giant convulted mess and none of the things make sense from one gen to another.

NATSUME BOOK OF FRIENDS ( NISA EDITION ) ( rewatch - seasons 1 & 2)

You guys remember the superb box set for the season 1 & 2 of natsune book of friends i showed when i got it a while back ?
I just got a little time to watch it ( i already watched the Tv version countless times & i already have the mangas at home )

I'm not gonna talk about the story itself , just a quick reminder that this anime is really well done , doesn't have much action but has a well presented protagonist and a enjoyable casting.
The theme is very "light" at times but can become dark very fast because everything's not white or black in the youkai world. Yes we follow the adventure of natsume , a boy who can see "youkai" or demons and the repercution this had on his life past and present.
It's a very well done anime so watch it if you haven't already.
About this release.
This set comes from NISA with a nice set in form of a book. 4 dvds in total for the 2 seasons.
There are 4 season so far and NISA seems like they will release them all.
This also comes with a nice artbook in the same shape than in the protagonist book of friends, again a nice touch if you like Collectible. the quality paper is quite nice( much above average , if not great ).

Each dvd comes with only Subs with the option to add subtitles or not. Also included are the options to have the "clean" version of the opening and ending.

The image quality is quite nice, but there is the white filter on top of it .. i always thought this was because of the TV version , but here it seems to still be there. this is trully the only thing to say about the graphical quality of this show. the animation is good and the various effects when there is a need for one are there too.
Is it because this show's old ? is it because it's in 480i ? I hope this white filter disapear once season 3 hit in the blu ray version.

The translation is adequate. I saw nothing that bothered me.. the youkai names are correct , the locations are right too. Everything's seems to flow properly .. This is good work. There is even translated lyrics during the opening/ending if you wish to sing it.

On that aspect it's good work.

Overall i have no regrets. the package is good, and everything's in place.
