Gintama 28 -Norio Wakamoto Saves the day +gorilla boy is alright

Hey this episode was actually good and didn't suck, haven't seen one these since ep25, it works wonders for your show when you have an episode not based on gintoki's Ultra lame boring job(dude sure makes me glad I don't have his job).

Norio Wakamoto you beautiful majestic man thank you for taking me away from gintoki & his chores.

+when gorilla boy got makunouchi ippo-ed, it was a pretty cool goody to see as an ippo fan, I don't think the sub team even notice the ippo references.
+fist of the north star reference was nice as well.

Never watched this in high resolution. Tame fanservice is great. Less is more.

And it was nice to see these characters again.

A challenger appears.

This was kind of nice as Gabu was sort of indisposed due to pack responsibilities and Mei had to fill in as the mature half of the episode whereas the deer took her usual role.

One Piece Episode of Luffy: Adventure on Hand Island

Disappointing.

After watching the Episode of Nami special, I was expecting this to be at least somewhat enjoyable to watch.

Sadly no, instead I basically wasted over an hour viewing a special that had me yawning nearly the entire time.

The main plot itself wasn't anything to brag about.

The episode mainly deals with the Strawhats accidently visiting Hand Island. They find out that Hand Island is troubled because of a Commodore Bilic's weapon firing giant cannonballs towards them, that was built by the Artisan's from the island; who are themselves held hostage by Bilic. Luffy eventually meets a wax maker whose son left to join Bilic initially thinking it was a good idea, but of course that was a mistake. Luffy goes to deliver a gift from the old man to the son whom they manage to save after he got imprisoned. Afterwards, they decide to destroy the cannon, which they promptly do and Luffy manages to beat up Bilic. With the cannon succesfully destroyed, the Straw Hats sail off to their next adventure. We also had an appearance of the newly appointed Captain Coby and Lieutenant Commander Helmeppo throughtout the episode.

Still I did have some hope that the Luffy and Coby flashback's were going to be entertaining, but they just ended up disappointing me as well. While I did appreciate seeing the Red Haired pirates again, the scenes themselves didn't really grab my attention. I do admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Luffy's backstory so that probably had something to do with it. Also in hindsight, I really shouldn't have expected it but I was still sadden that they didn't show the scene of Luffy stabbing himself to get the scar or Lucky killing the bandit (didn't think this one was going to be shown at all). Coby's flashback wasn't anything remarkable either.

The only bright spots this episode had were honestly: Nami and Robin showing off their new outfits, seeing some old faces again like Shanks and Beckman, and Zoro being a utter badass against the cannonballs and him getting lost again.

In conclusion: Would not watch again.

The Idolm@ster Episode 3

God, people were not kidding about this episode. It was a colossal waste of time. Just... bad. If I were watching this as it aired, it'd be the nail in the coffin for the three episode rule. Yukiho is frustrating to watch, annoying to listen to, and a juvenile focal point with irritating, incredibly simplistically portrayed problems. I said way back around episode one that I could guess Yukiho's character arc just from what they revealed, and I was a bit wrong there. If anything, I gave her character too much credit. Some similar characters have handled it in slightly less childish ways. And her hole-digging gimmick isn't endearing or funny, it's just aggravating.

The best part about this episode was Miki's hat. That's the highest praise I can give.

I give this three small dogs out of ten shovels.

Jexhius, thanks for going back through Mouryou no Hako. I thought I kept decent tabs on some of the thematic stuff in episode 1, but I began to focus on it less when I didn't see the show doing obvious, anime-ish things with its symbolism. Good to know that's not fruitless.

Keeping those thematic things in mind, the exact manner of
Kanako's sudden disappearance from the hospital
in Episode 3 takes on a lot more symbolic significance.

Psycho-Pass 14

So this is how they plan on escalating things. Okay, I'm down. This show knows how to deliver some uncomfortable violence when the time calls for it.

It seems like
while Makishima may not know everything about the Sybil System, he knows guys who do. The helmets are a pretty impressive achievement, and they have to come from someone working inside the system. Finding out who's supplying them could lead to some more interesting places. Honestly, Shougo's motivations feel kinda trite to me, basically because they're sorta expected.

If the plot heats up like this, it won't matter that the characters are a little underwhelming. I wonder if they can maintain this momentum.

Also, the new OP is a huge, huge step above their placeholder shit. Thank god.

I was under the impression that enforcers were people who had regained some level of control. If they are walking around with numbers shooting off the charts that seems kind of nonsensical even by the standards of this show.

Enforcers can't go outside without being escorted by an Inspector, so they rarely leave the building unless they're doing a job. The scanners also seem to be able to determine identity without too much trouble, as long as relevant details aren't obscured. I don't think this is much of a problem.

Jojo 16

Amazing. Fabulous poses and more Sugita awesomeness are always welcome. I'm glad the training arc isn't going to drag on.
Lisa Lisa
is pretty damn cool as well. It's good to have a female character that doesn't look hideously manly. I don't know if was just me, but this episode looked a lot better than the last few weeks. Anyway, I can't wait for next week since it looks like shit is about to get real.

Fucking snow. Had a mishap on the road, and now my car is in the shop. What a shitty day.

My point is they need a better song. That's why I used the word "bombastic".

Is nothing sacred anymore? That song is a classic.

Eureka Seven 28

There is no God of Mecha Anime. All that is good is now dead, and all that is horrible, namely Eureka's children, survive. There is no justice. I should've stopped watching this show 4 episodes ago and lived happily ever after.

But now? Now I will forever remember that
Charles and Ray
died, and that Eureka's goddamn parasites were permitted continued existence. Everyone who should have lived is dead, and everyone who is alive should have died.

It hits you right in the gut. I thought I was prepared for it, but I really wasn't.

Hello Kind People of AnimeGaf, I was wondering if there is a list of : Before You Die YOU MUST watch this anime

Anime have most amazing story lines/characters in the universe like
  • cowboy bepop
  • fullmetal alchemist
  • evangelion series
  • Death Note
and I am hearing some buzz about Psycho Pass, anyone has some recommendations for MUST watch anime? (any genre)

Must watch:
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
One Piece
Utena
Penguindrum
Ookiku Furikabutte
Mobile Suit Gundam
Zeta Gundam
Castle in the Sky
Paranoia Agent
Samurai Champloo
Fate/Zero
Casshern Sins
Wandering Son
Cardcaptor Sakura
Yu Yu Hakusho
Patlabor
NANA
Bunny Drop
Baccano
Paradise Kiss
Martian Successor Nadesico
Digimon Tamers (Japanese)
Oh! Edo Rocket
Fist of the North Star
Digimon Savers (Japanese)

A lot more shit, too, but that stuff is good to start out with.

Gundam AGE 6-7 or "Flit e la Mafia"

So Flit gets down with the Mafia and they're fighting against some poncy, young aristocrats. They need the Mafia to give warships to beat the UE, who are still not explained yet oddly, I think this crucial bit of information may be needed soon.

gAGEep7.png

Of course not Flit, none of this makes sense.

There is one thing in Gundam AGE I quite like and that's the opening, the song's quite nice, not as good as Turn A Turn but nice all the same.

Hoping for some true Yuusha x Onna Kishi action next. Hmmm, yeah. That'd be nice.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT 1-3

I'm not sure if they downplay Sena's flaws on purpose or not, given the current events in the LN. I still can't stand her personality, since her otaku-bait tends to overpower most scenes she is involved in.

Other than that, over all enjoyable.

Girls und Panzer 01:

God, that CG sequence in the beginning was nauseating. The girls are super cute though. Is walking into a post really that common? No of course not, it's an anime thing.

So is this like, a better version of Valkyria Chronicles 2?

The propaganda video was hilarious though.

lol at the creep playing against Sumire, and, oh this episode is about to end-- OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

I pre-ordered Yuno because HidaSketch. Then Goodsmile made Miyako, my favorite Hidamari. Now they've done Girls und Panzer and it (unsurprisingly) looks good.

I can't hold all these nendoroids.

Dammit. This, Yuno and Miyako are possibly going to make me start falling down the figure slippery slope.

Each time I think there'll be no more I'll ever care to get, I learn the hard way that

Once you get one, there's no turning back.

JJBA 16

Lisa Lisa didnt live up to the hype at all. Pretty dull character overall and boring. It seemed as if she could only sport one expression no matter if she was trying to be tough or even funny. Thankfully so much focus on Josephs and Cesears training to keep her in the background. For them, I love their kind of faith in each other and growing bond as they do this training to get prepared, learning or being amazed from each other was a good start, or even worrying about each other.

One of the better training episodes in the genre, though did have a few dull parts. Didnt like how they handled the ending and end theme.

huh? what background music???

?? I sure don't watch gintama for background music.

Edit:

Not 100% sure it's directed at me anyways good Music can do wonders for Scenes andvisual medium as a whole.

But I would not bother watching something if it had great music and the story wasn't any good, I mainly watch stuff for the story, yes I watch stuff for the "Story".

Another giant infodump to start. That really eats my enthusiasm down.

And for a third time I finish the episode shaking my head asking myself WTF am I watching.

I haven't dropped it so I guess I'm enjoying it. But I really can't tell.

I think I will to. I had originally postponed it because of other shows I was watching, and then I heard the last episodes were delayed so I was waiting. But I decided no longer to. ^^;

They showed more of it last season so far, but really they have moved so fast they haven't had much time. Not that I dislike Sena, I like her more than Yozora personality wise. Even if Sena has her own flaws of note.

GINTAMA 223
it's birthday !
Father day .. but more importantly Hostage time !

Gintama%20-%20223_01.jpg

The "destroyer" going to rescue everyone , flower in the right hand, gift in the left hand and bazzoka on his back !

Very good episode i'm starting however to be very annoyed by the "sick" jokes regarding "feces" ..but still the episode was great mostly because katsura antics were funny and the general badassery of the "destroyer" voiced by norio wakamoto.

Gintama%20-%20223_02.jpg

What a lovely way to .....

VERDICT : VERY GOOD

Azusa continues to prove why she's one of the top girls on my list. Was kinda surprised at the special guests that dropped by to wish them luck. And last but not least, Makoto continues to be godlike as fuck.

Oh forgot to say that I felt bad for Yayoi. The girls from the rival team were complete assholes. But one of them turned lesbian so she is forgiven. lol!
Yeah, the race scene with L・O・B・M playing was probably one of the best moments of the series.

Chihayafuru 2 3:
Nothing like Chihayafuru to cheer you up after a shitty day.

The karuta matches were fun, and we got a lot of good character moments. Komano steps up and shows how cool he is by
giving some great analysis of their opponents, and giving Tsukuba perfect advice
, and we get to see the new characters have some nice moments. I also really liked the scene with the Empress. Her
defending Chihaya and showing her faith in the karuta club
was really nice to see. Plus,
Arata and Shinobu!

Both seasons toned down her antics. Looks like they're cutting a lot of content this season too, from all indications this single season will cover the last 5 LNs.
