BTW, the character designer/animation director for Blossom is Sunao Chikaoka. He(she?) did a lot of animation work for Idolmaster, so that would explain some of the stylistic similarities.

I swear, these villains have major short-term memory issues. How have they not prepared for Pretty Cure Marble Screw yet? And moreover, why don't they just unleash that attack once they're done transforming? I'm not a magical girl expert, but at least in Sailor Moon, they had to actually subdue the enemy or knock it down or off guard before Sailor Moon could finish it off. Here they just unleash it whenever and it ALWAYS works.

They almost always pound on an enemy for a minute or two before unleashing the finisher. In this it's not so much about exploiting a single moment of weakness as it is just softening the monster up for a finishing blow, although granted the show almost never makes an effort to depict enemies accumulating damage over the course of a fight so I can see how it may look like all of the fighting is for nothing.

Okay, I get that. But Poisony was acting all like she was still in control and had them cornered, and she asked them "What are you going to do?", or something along those lines. How could she not see that attack coming?

I have to agree with Vincent here. These are some terribly weak candidates if they shake in their seats with fright at driving on the highway at 90mph.

The training seems to be getting pretty interesting though.

Oh, sure, when stuff like that happens it's pretty much bullshit.

If I had to justify it, though, like absolutely had to no matter how insane a stretch it is, I guess my argument would be that Cures can't use their finishers if they're demoralized because they're the incarnations of optimism and hope and love and finishers usually occur after they've reaffirmed whatever virtue that the villains have tried to break their faith in in any given episode. Villains just chronically underestimate the Cures' ability to overcome the moral conflicts and temptations that they're confronted with, and so they get repeatedly owned.

But yeah, it's really just bullshit, and Futari wa is worse than later seasons about there being no logical segue from combat to finisher. Battles just end when they need them to end.

The Hanasaku Iroha movie (Hanasaku Iroha HOME SWEET HOME) opened in 4 theaters in Ishikawa Prefecture this weekend ahead of Kanto (Tokyo) or anywhere else in the country. If you're wondering, the setting is based on a place in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture and that's apparently why they got first dibs.

Man, anime otaku are nuts. There are reports of some dudes watching all 4 showings of the movie on Saturday. Yes, that's actually a train that has a HanaIro theme painted on it.

Also, since I decided to look it up, apparently the station that Yunosagi was based off of, Nishigishi, has been renamed to... Yunosagi Station. WTF PA Works. You got a city to change the name of a place because of anime... :lol

Haha at Poisony just hiding in the drawer and being discovered by Nagisa and Honoka. But what the hell? What do you mean "That wasn't Poisony, right?" Of course it was her. Just look at her, it's obvious. Get yo' guns!

This episode actually had one of the better fight scenes so far imo. I guess it kinda did end with deus ex machina, but at least it was deus ex machina that the episode set up. They didn't just go "oh wait we just use marble screw lol" like they're prone to doing.

What was with Nagisa's dad's freakout there near the end? And Nagisa's brother is a bit of a wiener, but at least he has good taste in girls.

Are you going to see it?

Well, wasn't he cutting in and out of traffic? That would definitely be a bit nerve-wracking. Although that one guy was definitely overreacting some.

No one can deny the power of Hanasaku Iroha.

Inferno Cop Fact File 11: "3rd Destroy Finale"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuPfTcp-GHU

Tomorrow, the dramatic season finale continues with "Condemn the Evil, Part 2".
I'm pretty sure this was confirmed for 13 eps.

THE PEAK OF MANKIND HAS BEEN REACHED

REAL TITLE OF A REAL MANGA
Looks like the Mayans were off by a year.

Veteran voice actor Goro Naya -- perhaps best known as the voice of Inspector Zenigata for almost thirty years -- has sadly passed away at the age of 83.
RIP
