Beyblade, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh are great kids series. Honestly it would bedificult for me to compare actual kids show whit kids show from when I was kid, because my vision changed, but objectively, digimon weren't better. It would be your usual kid show, nothing more, nothing less.

Man, even as a kid I thought Digimon Adventures 01 and 02 were on a separate tier than the shows you just named.

I have to wonder how much of that was down to the dub differences. But man, that Tokyo Arc in Adventures 01. So fucking awesome.

Why is Digimon getting so much talk now, anyway? Seems like an odd point of discussion. I mean, not that I'll complain. It was a formative part of my anime development as a child/adolescent, but it's not something I'd really think to bring up.

Bro, this is how conversation flows

You really want to be on the same side as someone who sees nothing wrong with this?

No. Seriously, no.

Digimon Tamers was so far beyond what 'kids series' were at the time, that it's laughable to claim that any of those other shows come close. This is why Digimon still gets so much discussion even all these years later.

Look at what Konaka and the other people working on Digimon Tamers were able to achieve on that show. It should be required viewing.

I'm sorry, as someone who grew up on it, that show is pretty close to garbage after a point. It started great. Through Duelist Kingdom and that battle city arc, it was a fantastic kids show. After that, it's the worst drivel imaginable. The sequel shows are even worse.

Well nobody claimed that Digimon was good all the way down. Whywould YuGiOh have to?

Which arc is the one with Devilmon? Because, honestly, no other kids show blew my mind as much as that arc in Digimon. Holy crap, those were an awesome few saturdays waiting for the next episode.

Things are happening now. I almost forgot all about Haruka. lol
The episodes so far have been mostly episodic in nature, so it will be interesting to see how the next episode pans out. I don't really have much to say about this episode since it's basically more Yukiho and Yayoi self depreciating episode that we already had. I'm more interested in seeing what's gonna happen with Mikki in the next episode.
Takane episode when?

The Karma Saiyuki

Finally, a fun and semi-interesting hentai! At least I am not completely bored off my rocker this time...Here we have a re-telling of the classic Journey to the West tale from ancient China. In The Karma Saiyui, Sun Wukong / Son Goku and company are re-envisioned as sexy and endowed female warriors. They are accompanied on some sort of journey by a perverted and helpless monk. During their travels they stop at a village to find a meal, whereabouts all of the robotic maids and attendants of the adjoined brothel go nuts and want to fight / rape everybody. It's up to Mayuko (our monkey queen), to stop them. I think there is more at hand than this, but they never bother elaborating.

There is a lot of sex in this (which made it difficult to find good captures), and very little explanation. While the content is good and well animated (there are even some brief sakuga fights), it still baffles me how straight up UGLY animators seem to be intent on drawing genitalia. You know, just because it looks like roast beef doesn't mean you have to draw it that way...However, the visuals are not bad elsewhere, and the show seems to be an homage to an older era. I think it looks pretty nice, to be honest. Several of the classic hentai staples make an appearance.

Overall this was a fun and entertaining watch, and exactly how I like it. My only complaint is that it's only one episode when it should have been at least a few. Some interesting scenes are thrown around but they are not given enough treatment for us to care about them. I can't help but feel there was a larger story planned here than what we have been given. (The intro scene shows our cast in the modern era working as technicians who give fellatio to inanimate objects to repair them for example. What's this about?) Anyways, if you like sex, girls, and robots, this is certainly worth a spin. It's sexy and it's cute, and it doesn't make you feel like some sort of degenerate for watching it - making it easy to watch with a girlfriend or sibling.

Did they all die from the massive explosion that started in the lower right hand side?

Yes. No.
they are already dead anyway

No. Seriously, no.

I didn't go as far as tamers. I'll give it shot, since there seems to be a consensus here. But it is far in my backlog priority. I'll answer you on that though, even if it has to be next year.

Devimon? The very first island arc?

Yeah, devimon. The one that revolved around 666 and all that. That arc was insanity.

EDIT:Just looked it up. It's not Devimon, I just transposed him into it. It's the one with the Seven Demon Lords. Dang, those were some good times.

I like how you interject an argument like "fuck this. Heres porn"
This is why you rule.

There was a point a couple threads ago where we all tried analyzing what was happening in those Angel Beats screenshots. My favorite was the sniper rifle one. I think we all concluded that it was all just a bad dream and Angel Beats didn't really happen.

I actually haven't watched beyond bits of Tamers, to be honest. I never found Frontier that interesting.

spice and wolf 2 1

woah not sure what is different, but shit looks better, not great, but noticeably better. Holo is still super adorable and fluffy and sly. Peddler (the fuck is his name again?) looking older and older.

Frontier was garbage. I like to pretend it doesn't exist (kind of the same attitude I take with the English dubs of Digimon shows).

Tamers and Savers are the ones worth watching, in addition to Adventure and its movies, obviously.

You like it because you always try to shut down any discussion of anime aesthetics with your hyouka_manga_club.jpg ways.

Seeing as I was still on break when that aired, I want to say that bit totally bothered me. Like, there was absolutely no way that crazy person was correct but everyone was just like "uh huh".

Unfortunately my experiences on animesuki and the like have convinced me a large number of anime/manga fans actually subscribe to that anti-intellectual position.

I don't really think it was so much that everyone was in agreement (well, those outside of her clique of vocaloids) but more of they were too intimidated to start anything with her over it (mayaka :bow :bow). Then again, I may be remembering things wrong.

How can I shut down discussion about art preference? PREFERENCE. As in you choose which art style you like BETTER. I like different art styles than you do. There is no right answer to it. Especially not when both shows have completely different art styles.
You guys are the ones trying to strong arm people into liking what you like by ridiculing any dissenting opinion. I dont ridicule your opinions. If you like something, thats fine. Its your choice. enjoy it all you want. I like what I like and youre not going to change what I like by shoehorning pictures of this that or the other in my face and telling me its bad or good. thats not how fandom works. You cannot just say X is superior to y therefore you cannot like y better. Thats not how opinions work and thats not how people work. We all have our reasons for liking what we like. Thats all there is to it.

don't hate on Angel Beats guys. This show was a fun. And it was a comedy.

Hence it was a good show since comedies aim to be fun.

End of discussion.

Plus the art ain't bad.

I got it wrong again, ugh, the arc I was thinking of was the eighth child arc of Adventure. With Myotismon. It was the premier of Angewoman as well. Very few shows stick out like that moment has done to me. Part of it is because they aired it in like two large marathons. It was made out to be a huge event and that was awesome.

Frontier was garbage. I like to pretend it doesn't exist (kind of the same attitude I take with the English dubs of Digimon shows).

Yeah, Frontier is terrible. Like "what were they thinking" levels of bad. Awful character, awful story. The "humans becoming digimon idea" was the worst thing they've done. I despise that show.

I get that the others might have been afraid to speak up because she was an upperclassman but the whole thing was framed as some kind of great debate about manga quality and I was sitting there confused. There's absolutely no question which side is correct. To take the other side is taking forced "objectivity" to an absurd level.

Everyone has reasons for liking what they like but some reasons are more valid and informed than others.

The art is angel Beats isnt very good but thats not the point. the point is I enjoyed that ugly show for different reasons than the artwork. Like simoun is butt fucking ugly to look at but I enjoyed it immensely for the characters and story in it. Theres more than one way to enjoy a work. there are different levels to enjoy a work.

And yet here we are, having the same argument in the thread for the zillionth time.

Art is less subjective than you think.
