Well yeah characters designs for secondary characters were rather poor mostly. Maybe it's just that because I loved SEED so much having same designs and same genre for this show gives me hope that I can get some kind of SEED fix from this (as the movie project for SEED has died... =( )

I liked SEED a whole lot. I had very few complaints with it. Destiny, on the other hand, I could not help but despise Shinn Asuka and Stellar Loser the whole way through.

I thought scryed and GS looked alright. These designs suck though.

This is not the first time in the last two months someone has mentioned S-Cry-Ed to me. When I finish GTO I'll probably watch that.

APPRIVOISE!

I like him. He's so outlandishly evil, it's refreshing. I could care less than he just virtually pistol whipped two of the side characters that I don't care about, it was just too awesome to watch.

Can't imagine walking around with this....

Yeah, I mean, who would wear that when they could have one of these!

I dunno, though, these full-colour, all-over print t-shirts are a weird trend. I mean, I've got a whole bunch of really nerdy anime shirts that I pretty much exclusive wear to conventions or events (might wear this rather less exciting Puchimas shirt to 009!), but those things are more than a little too gaudy for me.

Januar is great to have around, and AlbaRos was as usual pretty funny. I do like the names the characters have, named after the calendar months and numbers, too bad were only a few episodes from finishing though, wouldnt have minded much more of this anime as its a great part of my Tuesdays/Wednesdays.

Finished season 1 of Working! It was delightful. Lovely bunch of characters, and just plain fun.
OP of the forever.

But what's up with
randomly introducing a character in the last episode like that? I figured she'd pop up eventually because we were seeing her in the background all the time, but that was underwhelming. She was just appeared like she was there the whole show.

She's "normal", "normal" people don't stand out.

I'd say that's the entire joke. The most "normal" staff member happens to get the least amount of spotlight. It's rather funny.

Yeah, Working is such a fantastic show and season 2 is just more of it. Also the EDs for both season are just as fantastic as the OPs. :D

I figured the "normal" bit was all part of the joke. It could've been delivered a bit better.

So the Beautiful Cresta getting destroyed every single episode is perhaps the greatest running gag ever. Seriously, as horrible a human being as Vice Principal Uchiamada is, you can't help but feel for the guy when his car gets totaled EVERY EPISODE. How can his insurance still cover this?

Futari wa Pretty Cure 25

Porun wasn't that bad this episode. He really just took Pretty Cure where they needed to go though.

But now Pretty Cure are faced up against Jyaku King. They look boned. Wisdom is also with them though. Maybe he's super powerful with the Prism Stones or something. He better be capable since he's the one who guards them.

Porun isnt that bad. He cries, but he's still not as annoying as the other two. And he is way cuter.

Yeah, I mean, who would wear that when they could have one of these!

Hooooly shit that shirt is expensive!

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
So is it like a normal thing for highschoolers to live alone in Japan, or is it just something anime does to avoid having to involve the parents in the show?

There is really no excuse for the state of CG in Japan.
My brother was flipping through channels this morning and on Nick Jr. there was some really cute CG show called Peter Rabbit. It seems to be a normal 30 minute series, but the CG animation work was on a level I dont think I have ever seen in anime before. It was kind of ridiculous how much higher level the CG was than what we are used to seeing. Makes me wonder what the budget was of the show.

Oh right, anime-related game sales from the weekly Media Create thread:

03./00. [PSP] Uta no Prince-Sama: All Star # <ACT> (Broccoli) {2013.03.07} (¥6.090) - 67.217 / NEW
14./00. [3DS] Doraemon: Nobita to Himitsu Dougu Hakubutsukan <ETC> (FuRyu) {2013.03.07} (¥5.229) - 12.768 / NEW

If I'm reading the thread correctly, this is actually the best first week sales ever for an UtaPri game.

The UtaPri games sales have been improving with each new release.

Funnily enough, after being at work eleven years, only two coworkers even know I like anime, because I mentioned it. Most people dont know.
I'm pretty closet about my hobbies, specifically my love for Halo, games in general, cartoons and books (Yeah, not a lot of book readers in my close proximity). I'm more open about movies and TV-series though, always a good or decent conversation starter.

Destiny was really weird experience for me. I could see why people don't like it at all as critically speaking it really had laughable plot twists, some horrible characters and some oscar winning dialogue but I still enjoyed it. It was delicious trainwreck. I also wanted to see Shinn get his ass kicked (Shinn was really horrible like you said).

SEED Destiny was actually my 2nd Gundam show and introduction to SEED in general, so I'll always have a certain fondness for it in my heart.

A that's why the last episode is my favorite.

Saint Young Men OVA

While, as usual, I don't like comedy anime and so this didn't do a huge amount for me, I did laugh once!
when the cat offered itself as food

I really like the way it looks - the "crayon" shading of Buddha and Jesus's jeans and hair, the colour choices in general and the way the manga designs have been adapted are all really interesting. The voice acting's decent too.

I just wish I liked anime comedies more so I could appreciate this properly :(

Neon Genesis Evangelion - 4

This seemed like a bit of a bottle episode. Shinji spends most of the episode in self-reflection and self-pity. He finds himself such a nuisance that the only viable alternative in his life is to simply run away. This is probably one of the episodes where people start to dislike Shinji's character, but I still feel for him. At any rate, through a bit of soul searching and dialogue with his class mates, he forego's hopping the train away from his problems.
One of the many signs that Evangelion isn't going to be your normal robot-action series is that they are willing to dedicate an entire episode to a single characters mental state right at the start of the series. They haven't even introduced all the cast properly and yet they're willing to dedicate so much time to something which would probably only end up as a couple of scenes in a different show.

Bleach 230 - 242 (rewatch, dubwatch)

Still as interesting as it was the other times I watched it though now with english voices. Muramasa having Seraph Lamington's voice (Disgaea) and Sode no Shirayuki having Temari (Naruto) voice were the most memorable aspects for voices and the fights Sode no Shirayuki as well as Old Man Zangetsu v Ichigho and Hichigo taking the stage are still my favorite parts of the Materialized Zanpaktou filler arc. Still is Bleach's best filler arc and definitely second to the Arrancar Saga as the best arc in the series.

You need to rewatch the ending (both endings) if you believe Anno is condoning closeted and introverted otaku lifestyles. Unless you are talking about GAINAX's infamous mishandling of the property for the sake of converting it into a straight up cash cow, but I don't think one can hold the actual material liable for that kind of misappropriation.

Judging by how much money they've made it seems like they exploited the property correctly.

You didn't see my post comparing the intros from the US at a certain time period to the one Japan used for Golgo 13 and Kingdom right?

The show is done in the UK, which has just as much as good CGI as the US but they don't use it as much. Yes, there shouldn't be an excuse. But theres only 3 good CGI studios in Japan.

Yes I saw them, but this Peter Rabbit show really hammered the fact home. And it was just a silly kids TV show. But the animation quality in it was amazingly smooth and realistic.

I didn't really think of it like that. It makes me appreciate it a bit more. And if it did appear in a mecha series (say... something like Rinne no Lagrange) it would probably feel terribly contrived and like a distraction. Here, it's really natural.

which makes the massive disasters with companies in the CGI and VFX industries all the more concerning. When 60% of the industry is owned by one company, your gonna have massive dislocations.

Makes sense, considering Beatrix Potter was British and Peter Rabbit is one of those series of books which is pretty much mandatory for primary schools to have somewhere. I'd compare the books to something like the Very Hungry Caterpillar for ubiquity amongst British children.

Priceless ep.9

Oh shit, everybody quitting Miracle Thermos, that just put a big smile on my face.
Enomoto is clearly the hidden hero of this drama.
Will watch the finale tomorrow but I can say that this was a really neat drama.
