Due to having seen the show first on the US DVD release ($200 price point and all), I have a lot of love and nostalgia for the US version. I think it fits the show quite well. It gives the show a sort of epic feel to it.

My thought was that maybe Tsukuba would be a better matchup for the next opponent, but I'm not really sure about that. I doubt it's just Nishida being a jerk, so I figure it's not just him thinking Komano is no good.

Reiko Yoshida said it was one 'cour', and the most interesting thing is that she precisely mentions the 'community' component of the show and how the characters from the market were implemented on it as a way to soften and don't rely too much on a very focused romance story for all the series' episodes (http://ultimatemegax.wordpress.com/...et-naoko-yamada-x-reiko-yoshida-conversation/).

Heartiels are really adorable. Seekun is the first, and she likes to say desu a lot desu. Perhaps as much as Suiseiseiki desu. I hope it doesn't wear out quickly desu.
This Hikari girl is really mysterious. She is really quiet and seems to be able to use telepathy or something. She also has a habit of straight up disappearing.
Meanwhile, some crazy stuff is going down in the dark world. The Zakenna are host to a strange boy who will definitely end up being an evil little shit. He even conjures up evil spirits in his shadows. I wouldn't trust him.
Oh yeah and the ending theme is totally awesome for some reason. I like it better than the first season's.

Man I love Shiho episodes, even if this one was basically a rehash of a S1 episode. She's a great supporting character. It's bullshit that Hikari gets to be the third wheel and not her because Shiho actually has a defined personality while Hikari is always, always a braindead deer in headlights.

So TAN only has the dub, and it's kinda awful. I wonder if I should just wait and get it on DVD or something because it's so bad. Though I kinda saw it coming after I saw in the OP that the dub was done by the ever-so-prestigious Coastal Carolina Recording Studio (no offense to the good folks who work there).-

Epic conclusion for JoJo vs Wham.
I like how they ended the fight like gentlemen.
. Also that ending of the episode, I knew what happens but it was well done. I will miss this show when it is over.

More silly hijinks involving Seekun trying to fly and find the queen desu. Also the other little supporting characters playing hide and seek with the cast in typical mahou shoujo fashion.
Hikari is still mysterious as ever. Definitely a rather vapid character. But Honoka is in this show and will carry it through as best she can. Because she's Honoka and better than you.
That ending theme is SO FUCKING CATCHY. OH MY GOD.

I don't recall the dub being that bad. I did watch a long time ago though.
I did like the Utena dub, so maybe I'm just as deaf as I am blind.
And to answer your question. Yes. Absolutely track down the DVDs of this long yet rewarding season. Its well worth the time and effort!

So close to the end, got all emotional when they had that one song playing as everyone declared their aspirations to stand on top of ginga and then being so glad to be on this best team ever. Its been so long that weve been with them all and seen them mature though still retain some traits (kota and aoto, for example). This grassroots team better win I hope and someone better make it to world classplayer, Im hoping Kota-kun.

If I have to get used to it I probably can. And maybe it gets a bit better as the show goes on.

Ultimately, Miyuki and Natsume are going to be living together and I really have no choice but to watch it whether it be through subs or dub.

Well thats all I have time for since its an extra work day (hopefully this is the last day I have to train someone, but the new dispatcher seems to have the hang of it) so no more Precure.
Off tomorrow but thats Sunday and its usually a time to visit family, so Monday. Yes Monday I shall marathon as much of this show as possible. To be honest I don't find it that bad yet. Maybe I really am just so conditioned to anime of varying quality that I don't give a shit anymore. I do like Deen and Bee Train.

I appreciate that they didn't do the monologue thing with the foreign players... they didn't do that with the pool games either actually.

Louie really is the best sitcom to have come out of the American industry in probably the last decade though. Nichijou doesn't stand a chance. lol (Sorry Ultima lol).

Hikari's story is really just all kinds of messed up. Good guys should not (I think this is mentioned as soon as she appears, but I forget) literally
permanently brainwash people
. And then (later details)
she has that weird sexual tension with the shota dark king
. As much as I dislike her, Hikari did bring some freaky unique plot strings with her - pretty much the only things out of Futari wa that haven't been recycled by a later series.
