Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer (Rewatch)

I thought that might help me unwind and flush the Eva feels out of my system, but it didn't really... Great movie by the way. I should hope that when faced with an end of the world scenario that i'm as carefree as everyone else in this movie.

Speaking of Urusei Yatsura and Rumiko, I know people's thoughts on the TV series, but does anyone know anything about the Maison Ikkoku TV Series? I've been reading (and adoring) the manga for a long time and I wouldn't mind watching the series a bit while I wait for my ordered manga to come.

Aniplex USA still has no comment on Nekomonogatari Black for any sort of NA streaming.

I guess they're saving all their ammo/announcements for Sakura-Con.

The Light of El Cantare
Futari wa Precure Max Heart 38:

Wait, this show is only permitted a single "OMGZ [insert character] IS GOING TO TRANSFER! (EXCEPT NOT REALLY LOL)" episode per season. Now we've had one for both Nagisa and Honoka. YOU ARE OVER THE LIMIT, MAX HEART. Half of the season's episodes have involved lacrosse or field trips in some way so it's not like this show's creative bankruptcy is anything new to me though.

Thinking of watching Berserk. Some questions:

1. Is it a good adaptation?

2. I know there's two movies out right now and there's a third one coming. Do the two movies continue from where the anime series leaves off?

3. Will there be more movies that are intended to get closer to the manga?

First half was an excellent conclusion to one of the more memorable fights tying in the values that really make fights stand out to me, victory, respect for both parties, friendship and fighting for your friends that still live on and empower the character to do the unexpected making a way out of no way, and just camaraderie. Fortunately it stood out so well that I could easily overlook how terrible and awful the rest of the episode got.
Massively disappointed in how atrocious and terrible Lisa Lisa was. The only good thing was the epic muffler action but even that how could she not use it in a competent manner. Why did she have to put on such a terrible show in a cast of elite superstars like Caesar and Joseph. At least they were able to find ways to strike back. What did she do? Fall over and cry and weep and beg while falling to doom at the mercy of relying on Joseph, couldnt she do something, anything? We endured so many episodes with her for her to turn out this way that it almost felt as if she just has no necessity in this anime than just consistently failing to guard the stone (her second time losing it). I never understand why terrible characters are thrust upon us like that. Additionally, was almost hyped for Caesar to return when Smokey, and everyone else randomly arrived on this evening, but I guess, he cant return in the anime :( Ill never forget but his bandanna...

1. Not really. Lots of stuff cut out or rearranged. Still worth watching I'd say.

2. No, they start over from the beginning.

3. That's the plan right now.

Doki Doki Precure - 07

This show continues to deliver. Full on plot ep full of backstory (and lethal doses of Cure Sword being cute), Bel continuing to be a (largely) competent villain, and Mana's best moment so far
(HA HA HA HA)
.

Unfortunately next week is
that damn baby
, so uh-oh.

All these movie previews keep reminding me I need to watch Futari to Gogo already.

EoE is like if someone tried to make a movie that explains the second half of 2001. The Space Baby is a Space Baby. Why can't we just leave things alone?

I never understand how annoyed you seem at EoE "explaining" 25-26, when those episodes are a radio drama spelling out the psychological themes of the show, while the second half of EoE is self-indulgent madness that isn't honestly any clearer about what is actually going on.

Maybe I'm not remembering the movie well enough.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
There was never anything on the other side of the hill, only the pain and loneliness of being caged.

This episode actually stopped me from dropping Doki Doki after last week's. I still think they didn't really nail the atmosphere during most of the episode though. Next week should be interesting, in spite of the baby, because it'll be the first time Doki Doki will attempt to go full on comedy.

The animation was disappointing too, but that's only because I expected something similar to bigger battles, like Smile's mid season, but I guess that's unfair and they might have something better in the actual 20s.

It's been a while since I seen both, but I just never thought for a moment that I needed to see this final battle or the whole process of
gooification
. The show was always about Shinji, and in part his psychology, so ending it with an internal look at himself - complete with
fake school episode
was the best way to ground the show on the person that the show is about.

And seeing
Instrumentality happen in the movie, after the gooification stuff, just felt like an attempt to try to visualize that psychological struggle... and it just didn't come close to the perfect simplicity of "Congratulations". Maybe if they kept the live action segment in. :p

Izumiko is kind of a dull protagonist, she feels like, based on the plot like she would fit right into any typical otome really, especially second half with those scenes with the best character so far, Miyuki. His voice kind of reminds me of Yoshino Takigawa, sometimes. Anyway really cool character and I like his personality.
Too bad he has to transfer and be her manservant. The bandaged scene was painful looking and all that blood, I wonder if he had got into a fight and lost and thus thats why he had a huge change of decision?
Story is compelling so will definitely follow during the season to see it pick up and all the things its teased so far.

In the OP cant wait for Manatsu to arrive, dull ED.

I'd love to see a cut of the series that basically followed the original outline - first part of end of Eva with the instrumentality scene in the second half based on episode 26. It's not really what you're talking about though, I'm not fond of the idea of just throwing away the narrative and changing everything to a psychological focus on the main character. On the other hand, I preferred episode 26's take on Shinji's development during instrumentability than the movie's.
