Only 5 teams and no race box? An online pass for a handheld game? Serious serious bummer there, I guess I'll stick with my console wipeout.

Although I haven't finished it yet, I came here to say that this game is great. Screw 30 fps, buy it.

Epic OP. Does anyone have a high res version of that concept art?

It blows my mind that Racebox isn't included in the game. That's a massive oversight. Hopefully it gets patched in at a later date (and not sold as DLC).

I can't wait for the game but the long load times and reduced feature set are a bit of a bummer. Pure and Pulse never had any of these troubles. Personally, I'd rather they held back the title for a couple of months to finish it off properly.

There are only five teams - AG Systems, Auricom, Feisar, Pir-Hana and Qirex - bad news for fans of Harimau, Mirage, Icarus, Assegai, EG-X, Goteki 45, and Triakis

WHAT! GOTEKI 45! Are they selling these to us in DLC?

Add another bummer to the list: only 5 ships for Crossplay. Feisar, AG Systems, Auricom, Qirex, and Piranha. I guess Icaras is too fast for 30fps. -rolls eyes

Anyway, seems like the NA version of 2048 is updated. The Crossplay option is now there, and (unless I'm missing something), it seems like the Blur Ship and Blur Track options in Photo Mode have been removed. DoF was the effect that was getting the most/best usage anyway, but it's still an odd decision to remove the other effects.

Strictly speaking if this is a prequel in the timeline of WipEout, these teams arrived later. But I'm guessing DLC too....

Fun game is super fun but typically super difficult. Having a blast with it.
I wouldn't call it super difficult but getting used to the controls & the narrow track structure definitely does takes some time if you are new to the series. Wider tracks (a long awaited update!) should make things much more easier for the newcomers like the pr says.

Hey bros, check out the wipeout custom soundtrack mix I'm working on: link

the 2048 soundtrack seems pretty good but wipeout is best with your own tracklist

Hyped.

Wipeout is the closest thing Sony have to a system seller for me.

Ever so slightly dissapointed by some of the Racebox and team content cuts, but im ready for DLC. Just tell us what you're planning and I'll set up a direct debit right now.

Got the 2097 soundtrack ready to go but going to slap one together myself and will deffo try other peoples.

Hmm I'm totally confused then, I thought it was also coming to PSN and had PS3/PSVita play?

There is cross platform play between Wipeout 2048 on Vita and Wipeout HD on PS3. That might be what you're thinking of. It can be bought on PSN, like all Vita games, but it can't be played on PS3.

Ahh cheers Snuggler, makes perfect sense now.

It's the one thing that has me on the edge for a Vita, I'm in the mood to buy a new toy in Feb too.

This game won't let me take screencaps, like, anywhere. :(
Online, offline, during play, during pause -- no screencapping anywhere. I've done it in plenty of other games, but this on and Disgaea 3 have a problem with it. "You cannot take a screenshot of this screen" pops up.

The devs can lock the option if they want, so it´s not a "problem", just not enabled (lame, i know).

You should be able to export caps from photo mode though.

You can access photo mode and take pictures from there.

Thanks. I've opened Photo mode but how do I take a screenshot of a game from within there? All that seems apparent is taking pictures the way I would with a camera.

Sorry this is coming from someone not too tech savvy. I don't own a smartphone or stuff so this might be second nature to some people and I might kinda seem like an idiot. (And I am, but not because of this!)

I played the demo yesterday and left quite disappointed. The load times are not the only problem, but they are really unacceptable for this type of game.
The framerate disappoints after HD but it may be ok compared to pure and pulse. It felt worse to me but it's been a long time.
Quality of content in the final game will determine if the game is good or just ok. I recommend you try the game before buying a launch Vita "just for this game".

Going to pick up the cheapest Vodafone 3G monthly deal so that I can get this for free. Can't wait. ^_^
Got a phone that can also be a Wi-Fi hotspot? I'm gonna use that instead so I don't have to buy a 3G model or pay just for a 3G connection.

Been playing this at work and enjoying it immensely. Controls are nice and responsive, although the default setting will need changing - it sets R to accelerate and L to brake, but you can change it to make those the airbrakes and X for accelerate. Movement/Touch controls are very hard to get used to so I stick to the buttons and analog stick.

30FPS is a little weird after WipEout HD, but makes little difference and things still just fly by at breakneck speed. Loss of Racebox is also a bit disappointing but I'm enjoying the Single Player enough not to be bothered.

Only thing that really bothers me is load times. It takes a good 35+ seconds to load each race. Even when you restart it takes another 5 or so for some reason.

All in all though I'm thoroughly enjoying it and have already pre-ordered it for release. Looking forward to the 22nd and getting this for myself. :)

Sure have, but I'm still going to get the 3G model and at least try out the full 3G functionality (bought a pre-paid 6 month 3GB/month SIM as well). The majority of the time I'll tether to my iPhone.

Perfect, that's what I'll be doing.

30 fps wipeout is fine by me (pulse and pure were great). But does anybody know if the game runs at screen res?

Preordered.

That said, I did play the game at Gamestop and the load times were atrocious. Inexcusable.

Was tempted to get this, but the slowdown I keep hearing about has broke the deal. I can live with a 30fps as long as it is solid, but not with slowdown. This is definitely not acceptable for a racer.

Yep, that's linked under 2048 -> youtube -> ship porn

awesome videos, though, just wish Harimau didn't get snubbed :(

Apparently the Harimau group wasn't created until the 2090s or so. So it makes sense that they're not in here.

I am also sad about that though. :(

There´s a patch coming for that, IIRC

That would be great. I couldn't believe how bad they were. Not only that, but you have to watch the percentage numbers slowly creep up, which makes it worse.

Edit: Wait, no Assegai? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
