Witcher 3 Director has left CD Projekt following allegations of workplace bullying

Aren't they working on a next gen version right now? If so, this kind of news is the last thing I want to hear or read.

I'm probably in the minority that prefer working with screaming and demanding people that most would considered toxic. At least no BS and hypocrisy,

That's gaming corporate culture for ya. Crunch, whining, tweeting about anything from bad companies to bad bosses, dickish bosses, somehow Bobby Kotick running a game company makes salary/bonus among the most out of all US, companies etc....

It's like the typical gaming company has no idea what HR policies are, and has zero training or employee handbooks that outline basic ethics and standards all employees should follow.

The wild west.

Lol "embattled." Someone's really that desperate for clicks.

This company is becoming worst by the minute. Sad for all the hard working devs but the c-lvl management is pure garbage

I have no real problem as long as they don't pick on certain individuals constantly. I love demanding bosses though -- The ones that set you a task that you considered impossible before they pushed you.
Bosses are usually under a lot of stress and empathy works both ways.

I've seen so many children break down when a boss asks for simple changes to their work. Running to HR, leaving work early, screaming.
The lack of ANY skin in the workplace is a real problem and just as serious as bullying in my opinion.

Demanding bosses help you improve. It's the undemanding ones that let you be stuck in mediocrity forever. I guess certain people nowadays are happy with that and believe everyone else should be, so they don't look bad in comparison.

A great director/ developer pushed out because some sjw were probably told to focus on their job instead of virtue signaling on twitter all day.

Some bosses are angry that they are in hot water and take it out on employees.

CDPR been getting ripped for its handling of CP2077.

Lmao, workplace bullying..

I'd love to know what he said.
No kidding. Lord knows he could've made some "harsh" or "edgy" jokes that were clearly jokes and people got "hurt" about it. Especially with how things are going nowadays.

If he WAS in fact "bullying" to a degree where it was messed up, well, then that's a first and entirely not okay. But I'm curious where the line was and how close he got to it or went over it.

I don't condone the bullying, but if that kind of management was what got shit done at CDPR, then they are probably going to start missing their quality benchmarks without him.

I have seen a few companies in which a workaholic asshole rules with an iron fist, but is also the one carrying everybody else to success. The moment they fire these assholes suddenly the whole org falls apart, and that's because nothing in the company culture worked as promised other than instilling fear into the employees.

What I mean is that CDPR has tons of challenges ahead, and might never be the same company after this.

Is "workspace bullying" soy code for "my boss yelled at me because he actually expected stuff from me" ? One has to wonder.

Workspace bullying excuse is lame. Every workplace has a boss who is a piece of shit. But they also get shit done. I'd suspect the director of a movie or game has to be a bit of a hardass to get everyone to play together.

I have had bosses who were complete pieces of shit, so I have no sympathy for this guy but if we just start making people resign for yelling and screaming then we are going to be left with an industry with a bunch of entitled snowflakes who will never ever take any direction from anyone.

How honest is this reporter? i dont know if the way he reports it is true or not.

Anyway, I expect more devs to leave, CDPR is following Bioware steps, they at max get 1 more game out as successful after it will turn out to be disaster, they will hard fall and close. Unless a miracle happen.

There was one tard who used to work at my company and left. One of those young people who think you can just work from home when you feel like it. I wonder if he complained to HR about being bullied by the boss on his exit interview when the boss asked this:

Boss "Hey, I need you to be in the office more. Can you come to the office for a meeting?"

Tard "No. I'm working from home."

His boss and I had a good laugh at the defiance. This type of shit went on for months. Good thing he left too, because he was on the firing line as it was the last straw ad firing him would had required severance pay to get rid of him. But good he left for free.

Sad to see the situation at CDPR, if you have asked me in November 2020 what i would imagine will be CDPR situation at May 2021, i would have said they will release their DLC for Cyberpunk after winning GOTY and gaining massive praise for their game across all boards and Gaming circle jerk is crying again because people like them. LOL
Turns out its a huge plot twist, they went downhill and now Jason Schreier is feasting on their bad reputation for clicks. Damn.
Will they make a come back or its over for them? anybody can predict?
