Witcher 3 gameplay from YouTubers from CDPR event

When he picks up the herb it seems to be from the PS4, the snowy monutain part afterwards is from the trailer indeed.

No. The same trailer was released on Sony's Youtube page and showed the exact previous PC footage featured in the original trailer with a DS4 button prompt pasted over it. That is where it is cut from.

Yeah, probably running on a monster PC. The only version they want to show.

Hell, even BioWare was out front with console footage of DA: Inquisition and showed it on PS4 and Xbox One with confidence. That is what I would like to see here, but unfortunately that is just not the case.
I can understand why theyre not showing PS4 footage, what I dont get is why theyre hiding the Xbox footage and only exclusively playing with a pad.

As long as they release console footage this week, I think it's fine. PC devs are going to PC dev. That's what they've been, it's the community that they cater to.

I am fine with that and I am glad that they have been showing some great PC footage. I have most certainly enjoyed it. But now it is time to showcase some quality footage for those of us who will be playing on consoles, beings the game is out in two weeks. We shall see.

Oh you are probably right. too bad and such a scummy thing to do.

What open world game on PS4 doesn't go down to mid twenties at times?

GTA V does. Watchdogs does. AC unity sure as hell does.

Maybe you don't play many open world games?

Τhe first 2 certainly dont, 99% of the time you play the game runs pretty solid 30 fps. I havent played Unity but it is a rather poor example, considering it is shit everywhere outside of nuclear powerplants and even there it is plagued with a billion issues (hence why I didnt playe it).

I also have infamous , and Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age (this is the one that drops in the mid twenties) and Shadow of Mordor, ACIV and they are (except DAI) all pretty flawless.

So I guess I clearly do play open world games and you dont have to come off with your poor sarcasm and all...

Point is so far almost every open world game plays well enough to consider it close to 30 fps. If W3 runs like GTAV, Watchdogs, Infamous, ACIV, Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor and even DAI I'll be pleased.

I am not expecting a 100% solid 30 frames per second, but I am not expecting a "20s framerate" either.

Also, once again CDP has , multiple times, reassured that console versions run very very well. So I am obviously expecting something along these lines. IF it turns out to be complete false promises, there will be the obvious repercussions (ie not buying the console version).

Agreed. It's definitely getting close to release.

If you ask more hardcore graphics oriented PC players then CDPR has betrayed PC community and taken route of parity so console versions look good and platforms powerful. That part of PC community has really ripped into CDPR for months now and keep doing so.

edit: okay, you're actually right, lol.

Really? That's stupid and sad.

I wonder if Kotaku is going to call them out much like xbox last week?

I wonder if we'll keep making baseless assumptions like "Sony just pasted PS4 buttons in", instead of realizing that in all likelyhood, they just got CDP to send them a version of the trailer for their system.

Seems to me there's a world of difference between showing a trailer that may use PC footage, but is in no way deceptive (unlike the 60fps trailer the MS guys tried to play off as being on their system, which isn't possible), and deliberately taking a trailer and modifying it themselves to look like it's for the PS4.

I see no reason to think this is anything but a trailer given to them by CDP for their console to match the XBO one.

CD Project sent xbox a video of gameplay and when xbox posted it people freaked out and later on they apologised for it, its the same situation just different company so I expect the same

EDIT: Until its confirmed to be ps4 footage in the first gif it will be labelled as PC since the footage first came from PC a few weeks ago, all we know is they changed button prompts especially when the footage is the exact same

People freaked because it was actually false advertising (60fps video for a game that can't break 30). Otherwise, I doubt it would've been an issue.

If anything, I'd put this on CDP and not Sony. I see no evidence to suggest Sony is altering other videos to put their own button prompts in.

I don't know who pasted the button prompt over PC footage, but it happened. And yes, it is deceptive to do that.

At any rate, I imagine it was CDPR who sent footage in both cases and Microsoft and Sony just put up what they got on their Youtube channels. But only the fake PS4 footage is okay? I see, lol.

MS never claimed that footage was running on an XBOX One.

Is this actually proven? Not that it is PC footage using a DS4, but rather that the buttons were pasted on? Where's the video forensics on that?

The fixed draw distance and also trees etc. disappearcing when going behind the camera are linked to Umbra. The rendering tech is finetuned in such fashion that it would be almost impossible to optimize it for different platfroms.

See:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPm3NXWcEec

Main differences seem to be, HairWorks, IQ, HBAO+, and possibly Volume Based Transluncancy on Vegitation. Also probably PhysX on clothing, cloth, buildings, etc.

Basically anything Nvidia exclusive, plus the normal advantages of PC like AA/AF and resolution/Framerate.

Half of the effects you mentionaed are NOT Nvidia exclusive, but Nvidia developed tech usable on AMD hardware too. Optimization will be another topic, though.

having high graphic quality, better draw distance etc is also false advertising for a console that would not be able to reach the PC quality footage.

Thing is, just about every company in the industry should be apologizing. Lets be honest, 90% of the multiplatform (PS4/PC/Xbox) games featured on those youtube channels are just unlabeled PC footage. Actual console footage is so infrequent that they have to put up disclaimers saying "This is really running on a PS4/Xbox". People called out MS only because of how obvious it was...
and because shitting on MS is in style

Great post. Also, cant wait to see it. Hopefully it is PS4 footage.

Dude, leave that poor girl alone. Why are you stalking her? :P

Seems like the usual upgrade from high to very high/ultra, then. And I'm expecting other stuff like higher res shadows, higher quality Post FX and better LOD.
Javin you don't get it, have you heard about love at first sight? 😅

What is that? :O

Edit: Oh look, old King of the Wild Hunt design is back. Not sure if to believe that to be in final game.

It's the stag monster we saw a couple of times with different mane/skin colors each time.

Hope to have an encounter with one, if they are still in the game.

You saw them already, swimming next to Geralt underwater.
