Witcher 3 gameplay from YouTubers from CDPR event

Isn't it obvious? PC.

PC, but I don't think mine qualifies as 'fairly' beefy, so I'll step aside for some real opinions.

I think if you have a "fairly beefy" PC, getting a PS4 version can only be considered a disservice. :-P

It's PC version for me

Both. Originally I had it preordered for PS4, the collectors edition.

Then I picked up the PC version for 13 bucks off GoG.

I recently bought a 970 FTW to play my Steam games at 4K. In my Witcher Wild Hunt hype, I ordered a second 970 FTW in hopes of playing Ultra 4K @ 30fps.

So I will be playing on PC
3770k
2x 970 FTW SLI
16GB Ram
W8.1

But I would have been happy to play my PS4 version as well, as it looks great. The real reason I am going PC is because I have a 4K TV I will be playing on.

If I was playing @1080p he choice would be less cut and dry. Although 60fps is nice. It would depend on your setup.

If you have both your PC and PS4 hooked up to your TV. Play it on PC.

If you have your PC hooked up to a monitor, and PS4 hooked to a TV, and the size/comfort difference is large. Go PS4.

It's a 200+ hour long game after all.

Thanks for the replies. I've got a 970 as well. I suppose The Witcher would be an excellent candidate to utilize that power. Couch be damned :P.

I'd pick my 1440p monitor and comfy chair over my couch any day of the week, YMMV, but my monitor at 3 feet takes up much more of my field of view than my 50 inch at 10 feet. It's just a more immersive experience.

I also have a family, who would be pissed if I bogarted the TV for 200+ hours :p

The Witcher 3 |OT| Let the Ploughing commence.

The Witcher 3 |OT| To Plough or not to Plough. That is the question.

The Witcher 3 |OT| Ploughing now on multiple formats.

Pretty much, playing at 1440p beats sitting on a couch far away a TV, not to mention the chair I use is about as comfy as a couch anyway + my amp and dac being at my PC I'd also need an extender cord for my 598's. No way a TV is ever gonna output the same quality of sound.

Of course he has like a 65+ inch 4K TV. If I had that I too would be hooking up my Pc to it and telling my family to go watch TV on the PC :p

Of course most peopel don't have a Tv setup like that, and if they did, a PC is the only way to get the best out of it in terms of gaming, not a console.

If I had a 65+ inch 4k TV you bet I wouldn't be waiting for the next series of nVidia cards and would just blow money on 2x titan x like right now hehe

The latest pics blow Witcher 2 out of the water. Geralt looks so much better now. Their modelers have improved a lot.

A lot of the characters in the Witcher 2 seemed to have legs that were a little too small for their torso's. Doesn't seem to be the problem here.

I thought Letho had the best character model in Witcher 2. So far all the main character models in this blow him away.

Well, as I recall, some utter jackanape tweaked all their verdant assets by hand in TW2, so maybe we'll get lucky and that'll happen again.

Also, has the LOD behavior described above actually been confirmed? Granted, it seems very likely given how it worked in the previous iteration of the Red Engine and also given some of the middleware they're using, but still, Geralt was nothing if not an enormously hopeful fellow..

I do find it hilarious that the "utter jackanape" is the guy you're replying to..

About the assets, they are using Umbra which AFAIK needs assets to be locked down as it's tweaked so carefully for each game. Creating separate versions would be far too much work.

Ciri blinkin' all over the place.

Gotta stop watchin' Wild Hunt stuff, if I hope to get through 2 before the 18th. >_<

Have there been any videos posted that show off any differing character movement speed transitions?

My biggest complaint as I'm playing through Witcher 2 right now is the character movement speeds. It seems like there are only two options - a slow walk or an all out sprint. And the sticks are extremely sensitive anyway so it's pretty jarring at first and then just turns into annoyance. There's seemingly no middle ground or pressure sensitivity at all.
