With HDR on the rise, we get more 'whiteouts' and they suck

Noticed a lot more of this these days. A lot of media replacing fade to black to whiteouts or white transitions and it fucking burns my eyes. You're sitting there watching a nice film/show, next minute you are squinting like fuck for a gew seconds as your corneas protect themselves.

Seriously! I was looking so forward to HDR with all of the hype, but it’s just so underwhelming to me. Instead, I love the constant 60 frames per second, quick loading times, and quick resume.

I shit you not. I had this tab loaded (on iPad) among others. As soon as I switched over to this tab it reloaded and I got a full white window. Stop messing with me OP.

Bias lighting helps with this, right? It helps keep your pupils at a consistent size while the brightness displayed by the TV changes.
Helps, but doesn’t eliminate it. A full white screen in HDR is pretty blinding in a room that’s dark other than the bias lighting on the back of my tv.
