That's what I did 2 years agoPotentially for me, I get rid of XSX and can stay fully focused on PlayStation. But its speculation at this point as to what gets ported. I expect more and more Xbox fans will jump ship to PC...
Xbox.
I will add that if they're not 3rd party by the end of 2024, no one can deny that the "Xbox tax" is real ever again. This is taxing the brand, taxing console adoption, constantly prodding and pushing negativity and openly insinuating that you shouldn't buy anything from them. If it was all based on misunderstanding and exaggeration, that's truly going to be a statement about gaming discourse.
I'm willing to wait and see what happens, one way or the other. We'll either learn about their 3rd party transition this year, or I'll learn how stacked against them the entire industry narrative really is with relentless negativity trying to tear them down constantly and push gaming into a console monopoly. I'm fine learning the truth either way. Let's see how it goes.

What would be really bizarre, if it came across better technically than the XSX with a 60fps mode.I'm going to Platinum Starfield

According to reddit it's not happening
There have been a bunch of posts lately that Xbox is giving up consoles to just publish all games on other platforms. These are unsubstantiated rumors that random games could go to other platforms and people are taking as gospel. Consider the facts:
Xbox had a leaked hardware roadmap that shows they're working on future consoles and controllers
There are at LEAST 4 AAA first party games being released next year on only Xbox and PC
Xbox just purchased Activision and ZeniMax with the intent of developing an Xbox ecosystem, including an Xbox mobile app
All official statements from Xbox indicate the console will continue be the center of Xbox
Matt Booty leads Xbox Publishing, and Sarah Bond leads all Hardware and development. Why would you promote Sarah Bond (heir apparent of Xbox leadership after Phil) for a business you don't plan to support going forward?
Based on the games under Xbox control, Xbox will have the revenue to invest in more hardware, not less. Sony is able to invest so heavily in hardware and games because of their revenue from Call of Duty on PS. Xbox doesn't want a cut of that?
Xbox doesn't respond to these stupid rumors because it makes no sense. Why do Xbox fans need constant reassurance that Xbox isn't going away? Going 3rd party isn't going to happen, none of their recent actions suggest it would happen.
Please distinguish rumors from facts while you're doomposting.
The answer is for MS to spin off Xbox division and merge it with Sega. Dreamcast 2 in 2026!Imagine the pricing on PS consoles IF Xbox was to stop making consoles.

I just have to break this one out again. Poor poor multi trillion $ company.

What lies? You have Xbox insiders talking about this. If you want accountability talk to Phillip Spencer who has been responsible either for software on Xbox or for the entire division for a very long time.I'm just asking for the tiniest bit of accountability here. Me neither. They're not stupid. No matter how much people may want a PlayStation, one that is too expensive would be rejected by the masses. Pricing on the hardware would stay largely intact.I don't see the price changing at all
Christ. Who in the industry is against them exatly? Do they not own more developers than Nintendo or Sony? Conosle monoply? How?I'm willing to wait and see what happens, one way or the other. I keep on seeing this statememt, that's not how it works.
There are more market forces at play than "failing competitor existing" which contribute towards determining pricing.
Think prices would go down from NVidia if AMD left the GPU market?
What would they charge for the 5090 if there were no other options for next gen cards?
Pretty much my view too. And if they pull the plug…. Well there's always PC. I already play some of my Xbox games there and I've already own a bunch sony games on there. So no real need for a PlayStation either. If Xbox is out, I'll be a PC/ Nintendo gamer. And they had better come up with a way for Xbox owners to migrate their game libraries across to PC too. I wouldn't mind if they keep making controllers too though. Will not miss their proprietary hard drives!Xbox.

What are you talking about? It's some of Microsoft's own media plants reporting these "rumors" as well. And please, spare us with your sanctimonious "accountability" bs. Microsoft is the reason why Xbox is in this position. Quit blaming others for laughing at their miscues.I'm just asking for the tiniest bit of accountability here. There is still competition thereHeisenbergFX4 just look at sony dropping OLED this year, it won't change anything for LG and Samsung pricing
