Just like TFA.This thread has died
It just didn't have the legs
Jan 14When will it hit #3 WW?
As an aside, the rumor about Daredevil season 2 premiering the same day as BvS is so fucking hilarious to me. Could that actually hurt BvS' opening weekend?

The mayweather fight was a different medium?Of course not. They're different mediums.
Now we finally know why Hunger games under performed - Jessica Jones. They'd be foolish to just rush in blind like that

We see u Disney!!!!!Now we finally know why Hunger games under performed - Jessica Jones.
I forgot about that small territory. Yes, it should be #3 this weekend. It will be earlier than that. Say $50M on the low end for Tues-Thurs worldwide (Monday was $22M, but overseas territories typically get new releases on Wed-Thurs so I expect those days to drop off some). Low end domestic this weekend will be $40M. Low end overseas for holdovers should also be $35-40M. That's already knocking on Jurassic World's doorstep without factoring in the first two days of China's gross.
I'm expecting TFA to move up to #3 of all time by Saturday. Sunday would be the worst case scenario.
The mayweather fight was a different medium?
You dont fear the black bars? SPOILERS WILL GET YAHThat was a way bigger cultural moment than another season of Daredevil. It was also a live fight. If you didn't watch it live, there was no point in watching it at all. Daredevil, on the other hand... what's the real rush?

What about the black bars in real life? You know those water cooler conversations that suddenly go quiet when you approach. Yeah ... what about those.
Just like TFA.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPS
Avatar had close to an 80% 3d share, but the portion of IMAX and large format tickets was lower. I would imagine that its average ticket price was in the same general ball park as the Force Awakens, with ticket inflation and less Imax compensating for large 3d.

I wasn't comparing it to DD, just pointing out the different mediums fallacy.
Asking if it could potentially hurt it isn't the same thing as arguing that it would.
Then my fantasy will come true.It will hurt BvS badly. I see WB selling the rights to Disney.
How much we thinking TFA drops from Monday to Tuesday?
And then you got answered, and then you questioned the answer, and then someone pointed out your questioning of the answer didn't make any real sense.
No, Daredevil premiering on Netflix the same day as Batman v. Superman will not damage Batman v. Superman's box-office.

Monday results are out.
TFA with $8 milllion. Is the drop steeper than anticipated or within the norm?

Why do I keep on seeing that Cameron .gif?
Interesting. So where would is place in an all time admissions list? I remember BOM saying around the time that it's admissions were around where TDK's were.

Discount Tuesday. Increase.
You're a cool cat. No need to apologize, we had some jokes poking fun around you.I'm on my phone running errands right now, so I should have said I wasn't comparing DD to the Mayweather fight in the same post I brought up that point. I definitely would have if I were at my computer.
I never meant for my question to be interpreted as DD affecting it in a significant way, but more along the lines of the people on the fence who may have wanted to avoid the hustle and bustle of opening weekend.
I apologize for not being more clear initially. And admittedly, the demographic I'm referring to is likely very small. Just thought I'd spark discussion.
I keep forgetting that's a thing.
Saw Creed on a preview screen on a Tuesday night and couldn't understand why the theater was crawling with Wal-Marters.
From upstreamThanks guys, so judging by the recent result 900-930 million is where TFA should stand at the end of its domestic run? Impressive.
