Actually, the thread had gotten back on track afterwards until this page, when people decided to ignore all the actual box-office talk to focus on an already deaded conversational cul-de-sac.

But hey

I didn't even notice that shit until now, we were discussing the international prospects of Rogue One until that weird report about 2.3 billion popped up

Sorry guys, its getting late and I am a little bored sitting here (for the record Id never marry her crazy ass)

Dont post her pictures. You dont know if she would like that.
But to be fair i think you should think about marrying her

Cameron finally released his nod to Star Wars taking the domestic title. Typically classless Cameron.

Not really (obviously), but I'd pay real money to see him release something similar. Or hell, any acknowledgement at this point.

hehe this is great

I see this thread being active so I come in to check what's happening, only to discover the most bizzare shit ever.

The Revenant made 2.3m from preview shows. Pretty solid for its type of film. Should hot at least 30m this weekend.

I guess Leo is one of the last reliable box office draws

I thought Ford was great in the film.

Seriously? He was amazing in it, I didn't know people disliked his performance. Ah well.

Ford gave his best performance in over a decade.

fuck outta here with that nonsense.

I had the feeling that he didnt really cared - There were two scenes that were great, the Its true scene and the one on the bridge.

I have to admit that I havent seen any Ford movies of the last ten years beside Indiana Jones - Still had the feeling that he was much more interested in the whole thing there

I'm really looking forward to this one... Opens in five-six weeks here. :| I feel though like its BO chances could be hurt by less than stellar critical reception...and uh its budget ballooning up to twice the original amount, of course.

He's not pointing out the lowest grossing film in the franchise. He is pointing out that Spider-man, a Marvel comic movie which was released in 2002, outgrossed Attack of the Clones, a Star Wars movie which was released in 2002. It's a pretty great counter point honestly.
Thank you for getting it. Sorry that I cropped the image that removed the year on there.

I thought Ford was his usual average self. Bare-minimum effort. He didn't suck, he wasn't superlative either. He did his job. And that's probably better than him actually "trying". If he tries you get a scenery-chewing performance like in 42.

Ford just did as Ford always does. Plays the same character in everything just with various levels of grumpiness

Tom Hanks is a beast
That amount and the only franchise stuff he has done is Toy Story and Da Vinci Code

Looking at the totals though it seems a bit unfair on Sam Jackson
The grosses for Star Wars 1 & 2, Jurassic Park and most of the first phase Marvel movies don't count

Ford was great--when compared to recent Ford. He didn't just growl his way through the script. There was nuance in his actions and emotion to his speech.

Unfortunately, he's so old, his movements were much more slow and deliberate, which made him stand out a bit (especially during the action scenes).

This thread got weird while I was gone.

Mon-Thu, TFA made approx. $28.2 million compared to approx. $28.4 million for Avatar. If it keeps pace this weekend I think $1 billion is happening.
