I am shocked that Identity Thief is doing so well. Every preview I have seen looks like the most unfunny thing on the planet. I laughed more at the Movie 43 trailer than any promo material for this.

And people complained about The Last Stand. Die Hard 5 made that look oscar worthy.

Jesus christ Bruce why the hell would you sign up for such a piece of shit? I'm sad I watched it despite seeing the bad reviews. It really is that bad and nothing else interested me.

I think John Moore is the main guy to blame. Never has a hack of a director ruined other franchises so well. I really hope this guy doesn't get a job anymore.

Probably make 20 to 30 million on it and maybe even got a cut of the box office

Haha loved that bit. Don't know why he's embarrassed over Moonlighting :(

Probably reminds him too much of the good old days, where he didn't have to do shit like this for a buck.

Heh, the funny thing is that he really doesn't have to either. He chose to do this and EX2. He still gets genuinely good roles, like Looper. He's selling himself out.

you laughed while watching the trailer of Movie 43?

Saw Die Hard 5 yesterday and it is just so average and mediocre in every way that it shouldn't even be seen as a Die Hard move at all. Other than the face that Willis is playing John McClane againe, its hard to see this as part of the same franchise. I felt the same way about number 4, but this one takes it further. Hopefully this is the nail in the Die Hard coffin.

This was more or less my thoughts. Saw it the other day with coworkers.

Wasn't a bad movie, but nothing too great about it either. It's just really an average action movie with Bruce Willis thrown in just because.
At least it didn't go way over the top like Die Hard 4, but there were little nitpicks here and there.

Some funny one-liners, but it was really just average overall.

- A fairly soft week after last weekend
- Identity Thief will probably win the weekend, and will also be the first 2013 film to break $100M (sometime in the next week)
- Good Day to Die Hard is living up to its name. Looks like the film will finish with maybe $60M domestically. Overseas will save it though.
- Dark Skies is opening fairly soft. First day was about 65% of what Insidious debuted with. It is ultra low budget though.
- SLP continues its crazy run

I'm trying to think what the last movie I saw in teh theate was. I think it was Total Recall. Everything is just home theater watching, especially if its coming out in the Jan/Feb months.

The TV ad I saw for Die Hard had the big text of "#1 MOVIE IN THE WORLD!"

oh, marketing. you crazy bastards.

Well, it was the #1 movie worldwide last weekend so they aren't lying. We'll see how those overseas drops looks this weekend though.

The Hobbit is out in China and numbers for its first couple of days are pretty soft. $1B is going to be a close call. I still think it will make it there, but it might end up under TDK's $1.008B.

I don't understand how Identify Thief can possibly be making this much money when it looks so fucking terrible.
