Personally outside of the standard shotgun, which did feel a bit weak to what I would expect, ever other aspect has been quite pleasing to me. Even the mix has some very good binaural use in creating distance and a nice circular soundscape (close your eyes and you get a great sense of where things are) but that could be due to the fact I'm using a set of decent headphones and an external DAC & amp combo. I don't think there's too much wrong with the sound design but from what others have reported there does appear to be issues with the engineering.
It's so bizarre that these elements of the game seem to be getting the least attention. Thief was another game that was wrought with these problems and much like Wolfentein it was another game that really seemed to rely on these things being en pointe to play properly. More so in Thief, but yeah. Weird that this stuff passes QA for some reason.
I assume this might be what the day one patch was meant to fix - but that patch was never offered to me on Xbox One or PS4. Not sure if it's because my account is Australian or what. :/
