I will add more as they come.

I sent a copy to my nephews sight unseen. They will already "love it" according to my sister.

I wonder if Sony will follow up with other decent content, or if this is going to be one hit wonder?

They announced several games for it, and they have Disney and BBC on board as well.

From the guardian review.
However, to expect that would be to miss the point entirely: it's essentially a digital babysitter. Any parent with Harry Potter-obsessed kids under the age of 12 and a PlayStation 3 will find it an absolute boon: you can park a bunch of kids in front of it and leave them to their own devices, safe in the knowledge that they should remain enthralled for at least an hour, and it won't be rotting their brains.

Sentences like this will always sound sad.

May as well add the cost of the tv and couch. Don't forget the coffee table.

don't forget electricity. and you probably need a house too to play the game, unless you wanna play it on the street. don't forget about health insurance, you might hit someone with the move. you really gotta think things through first.

Sony could expand into "Wonderporn" pretty easily. (Move is shaped correctly for it and includes rumble)

Actually though... Using Harry Potter to kick off the first book is very slick. I guess Sony & Disney could make a JEDI TRAINING wonderbook or something? Star Wars IP would fit right in smoothly with the concept.

Not sure how "Walking with Dinosaurs" works. An interactive book doing what? Do we paint a 3D dinosaur or something using a 3D paintbrush?

I could see myself getting the book of spells/wonderbook bundle for my fiancee for Christmas, since she already has the Move. Would be a nice gift since she's a huge Harry Potter fan. Wasn't planning on it before, but $39.99 is a good deal.

The Gamespot video showing tons of content is convincing me to pick this up.

For my future kids of course.

wat this doesn't make sense

New customers = don't own a system yet. The main reason to making this stuff is to bring in new customers to the ecosystem. The cost of entry on this is very high consider the audience they are going for. Also, it seems so far it is only being marketed in PAL land.

And Just Dance main reason was what? What was the price entry for that? Where were you complaining then?

And what's the alternative here? Lower the PS3 price just for this? Give out the game for free?

Seriously... rolleyes.gif

What's the cheapest PS3 now? I can see a bundled system for like $150 late next year or once ps4 is out, with more content selling pretty well, it'll get more moves out there too, would help if the moves are compatible with PS4 (don't see why they couldn't)

New models are $270 and old models are $250. A $300 model would have lost a bit of cash but would be nice to have a bundle for new users under the $300 cap.

Wow.............

Seemed to me like a really good idea from Sony since e3 (whether it needed 1/4 of the conference is another matter). I have no interest in Sony myself but I hope it works out, thouhg I worry it will be left undeveloped.

Dang it, I was going to continue the series with "you'll need a TV and a house to play it in".

This would be massive if it were a Kinect game with the usual Microsoft advertising push.

But Sony. So it's probably being sent to die.

You don't need to go far to see the argument is nonsense. Just replace wonderbook with any other game. '60 dollars for halo 4 and 200 for a 360? Fuck this shit, most expensive game ever.' The new customers argument still applies, since in what situation would the console maker NOT want to bring in new customers?
