I might have the opportunity to work on a cruise ship for one term as a video production assistant.

Essentially, my role will be to film weddings, corporate videos, promotional stuff, etc.

Anyone ever had the opportunity to work on a cruise ship before? What's it like and would you recommend it?

Knibb High School football rules.

I play the drums, my teacher was telling me he went on a cruise ship as part of the band, he said it was good and bad for different reasons.....Good because he earned quite a lot of money, and there was really nowhere to go to spend it, so he saved it up. Also he said it really improved his skills playing every night - athough that might not apply here.

The bad side of it was he had to share a cabin with another musician so it got on his nerves after a while (also might be different in your case). Also, once you're on the ship thats it - you can't leave (obviously) so its quite a big commitment to make.

It's really sad if you get sea sick on a cruise ship for chrissakes.

Lots of people get sea sick on cruise ships... WTF is so sad about that?

Id imagine its much easier to get seasick on a cruise ships because they sail more like bricks than ships.

I hear it's pretty good. You usually get your own cabin and depending on the cruise line, you can do excursions when you guys port. Plus, you get paid well. I'd do it.

So long as you aren't the guy that almost drowns in the swimming pool on the cruise ship you should be okay. If you ARE that guy though...

*unimaginable things here*

Don't be that guy.
