Listening to Alexi Lalas declare that the US should beat Wales as if he has no clue what the tournament is all about is priceless.

London Donovan had to set him straight.

Most Americans don't get that each game is like a nation's Superbowl.

Form and skill level can be outdone by passion and football gods.

People always say after every world cup that the coach of the US team should be fired, but we're just not that talented, I'm sorry. We always manage to qualify by virtue of being in concacaf , and usually manage to squeek through the group stage, but after that reality is unavoidable. It is what it is. It will be the same this time. Just enjoy the ride and try not to take it too seriously, then switch to rooting for England once we're eliminated like we always do.

These games matter so much that the atmosphere is unrivaled and it really can be amazing even if 1-1. That's the beauty of the sport or at least one of them.

I'm not a fan of flipping and embellishing everything and can understand the Neymar memes but it's still the best sport in the world.
