Played through the Silverpine quests 10-20 on my BC trial. So much has improved in that area. The worgen vs. forsaken quest line was epic.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

Just did BFD myself, same deal. Almost unchanged.

I really recommend SFC, quite epicly redone. I wonder how they decided which dungeons got the proper treatment and which ones got shafted?

*edit* I find it really strange that these brand new players are going to come into the game and see it as such a mixed bag. So far everything I've done has fallen into two categories:

Amazingly redone:
Ashzara
Deadmines
Shadowfang Keep

Disappointingly unchanged:
Mulgore
Ragefire Chasm
Blackfathom Depths

I think only SFK and Deadmines were touched up, considering they are the only two 5-man old world dungeons capable of Heroic 85 runs(as far as I am aware). Hopefully in newer patches other past instances get more love. Ran Razorfen Down tonight and the shitty escort quest left still had people complaining of "I didn't confirm it before it started!" problems...myself included.

Being Alchemy/Engineering sucks at times like this. :lol

I hit 85 though, so I guess I can do all of Hyjal and make sick money

The quest flow is better in in most zones though. So it won't seem that bad.

Overall I've been happy with the new leveling experience. Getting all the quests at the beginning of a dungeon is a really nice change even if most of the low level ones are pretty much unchanged other than loot drops.

I've been debating on playing a Goblin or a Worgen and decided to try them both to level 10. I will play a Worgen Rogue (+1% damage, Free Sprint) and a Goblin Mage (+1% Casting Time, Extra Blink).

A couple questions...

1. Do Rocketboots take you out of combat? If so I may have to try playing a Goblin Rogue as it would be a nice way to get into stealth from combat without using vanish

2. Has anyone found out if Darkflight shares a global cooldown with Sprint? If so this racial is not nearly as good as Id hope'd it would be

1: No.
2: No they dont share a cd, its only 40% now though.

I just played through the Forsaken quest areas to lvl 25. I was very impressed. It is a lot of fun and it is cool having a certain lady with you pretty much the whole way after lvl 10.

My copy of the CE just arrived this morning from play, 5 days late lol.

But lol play.com's incompetence works in my favour, they sent me two... I ordered 1, got charged for 1.

Thanks play.

The only two dungeons that were crazily redone were deadmines and shadowfang keep, because they are heroics at level 85. Others had some changes or trimming (sunken temple, stratholme) and some are getting trimming/changes in patch 4.1 (wailing caverns).

48 Worgen Druid here. Got tired of my 4 years old Paladin (from Holy to Prot to Retri to Holy again...:lol ), looking for something similar but more fun.

I love how Restoration works and I will probably use it as my main-spec... also Worgens are soooo cool :D !!

I am so looking forward to lvl85 atm... my Server is very very slow in raiding so it's not a matter of staying behind progress... just a matter of personal achievment :D

Are there any Alliance inns in Vashj'ir? I want to park rested without having to do it at SW then take the portal back.

edit: sry DP

There's almost always an innkeeper inside the different caves with questgivers. Never noticed if i was getting rested in there since i usually log off in SW after doing the cooking & fishing dailies and buying a few parchments to use with the inks made with the herbs i gathered during the day.

Bummer! It also sucks that you can only use the seahorse mount in Vashj'ir.
The tooltip says something 'Only usable in aquatic zones'. If Thousand Needles isn't aquatic, then what is?

Just one more picture, I think Thousand Needles is the best redesigned zone so far.

From the tooltip... "Summons and dismisses your subdued Abyssal Seahorse. This is a very fast mount. Can only be used in Vashj'ir"

Goldshire also got a massive overhaul ... Oh no wait, they didn't touch it at all, except reworked the quest VERY SLIGHTLY.

so? You can't expect them change every single zone in the game, especially just for one expansion. I thought the work they did for 1-60 was an amazing (FREE!) content patch.

do you specifically have DX11 turned on? I thought I read that sun and spell effects only reflect on the water if DX11 experimental is turned on.. just making sure because I have it in the config but just wonder if I'm getting anything extra with it.

edit - yes, there are tons of zone specific things now. You are a general in Stonetalon Mountains, you get the boat in TN, you get the sea horse in vashj'ir, etc. on one hand it can add a little bit of immersion to the game, on the other hand there is definitely the feeling of a carnival ride with many zones now.. "what's this zone's hook?"

I think much of it just comes down to blizzard asking (both themselves and us) "Where do/can we go from here?"

I finally started a worgen warrior yesterday. I love the story and I was surprised by the cutscene !

New talent system is even better now at low level... My warrior regen too much hp. :lol

You gain xp when you are mining (maybe not new).
The new UI is perfect, I don't need addons to do the quests now.

Yes I can, as it's part of the storyline. Shouldn't be pumping "Oh Azeroth is changed forever" when it's so sporadic and some zones barely saw any love.

EDIT: And I obviously meant Elwynn Forest, not Goldshire specifically.

Yea even some of the seemingly unchanged zones have been restructured to make the leveling process more straightforward. In Teldrassil, for instance, the quests are grouped together by location and once you finish one spot you just move on. There is considerably less running back and forth.

Jesus the Goblin starting area 1-5 is ugly. I mean, I know its suppose to be, but oh god. So glad to get out of that place.

Elwynn Forest didn't need fixing. You'll get to Westfall in an hour. Tell us how you feel then.

Even Kharanos is much improved even if it is mostly the same stuff. You're guided to places closeby with a set of quests that all overlap in a single area. There is much less running around and feeling lost or deciding between two different areas.

Yeah, that's what makes me feel like a lot of the bitching is misplaced. A few extra flight paths and reassigned and tightened level ranges goes a long way toward speeding things up.

Such a weak excuse, they didn't need to overhaul every area, just give them a polish besides the quest so you don't see the exact same stuff for the millionth time if your a veteran player. Even the tiny scorched area on the opposite side of the lake in the Human starting area is refreshing, despite everything else looking exactly the same.

I reached level 81, and got some new pieces of equip -a few quest rewards, a few drops and a few I crafted- but have to sadly admit that while I love seeing my stats improve, I find myself unwilling to drop my old equip because these early armors are ugly.

I thought Inquisition would be useless as a Holy Paladin, instead it rocks. I just need to get some mod that gives me a big visual cue on screen so that I can clearly see the timer for it.

Nope Infact my Card is DX10, ATI 4870, with Sunshafts set to High and liquid to Good

I thought Elwynn's quest flow was reworked very well. It's not the most exciting of zones but compared to original Elwynn it's great imo. God I hated how much running you needed to do 1-20 as alliance...

Man this expansion really made me love WoW all over again. Almost done with Hyjal then I think I'll head back and finish that underwater place, I got pretty far there.

Being Elemental is friggin insane, damage output is redonculous however.....resto seems heavily nerfed or is it just me? I've played my shaman resto for a good 2 years and it just seems weak for the first time ever. I'm assuming this is because of the addition of mastery?

Chain heal feels sooo weak and Healing Wave is just about pointless. My new lesser heal wave (forgot name) costs a ton of mana. Maybe things will get better at 85 with more mastery points. It just feels like I have to balance too many things as a resto shaman.

The questing and quests / areas themselves are incredible once again. Can't wait to get outta work and play.

Really, only two of the zones can be called "untouched" - Deadwind Pass and Silithus.

A close third is Arathi, which apparently has a couple of changes but nothing major.

I think those are the only 3 zones without a quest overhaul at least.

Oh no, I agree about the quests themselves - Everything is obviously streamlined about 3000% better but that just isn't enough to make me wanna start a new character. I had hoped we would see changes to every zone, visually that would make it feel fresh and new but the work done on each zone is so sporadic. Some zones got so much work done to 'em whilst others barely got anything.

All I'm asking, besides the streamlining of the quest is something visually refreshing so you actually see something new. Really want to start a new character but I've done the 1-60 thing about 20+ times and I know every area by heart ... I want to see something new now, just a bit of touching up :(

Gilneas->Darkshore->Ashenvale->Stonetalon as Alliance

Kezan/Tirisfal->Silverpine->Hillsbrad as Horde

From there, STV, WPL, EPL, South Barrens, Thousand Needles, Badlands, Searing Gorge, Blasted Lands, and maybe Un'Goro seems to get a whole bunch of love.

Also, you can swing some instances to shoot you full levels, thanks to quest givers mostly being inside the dungeons themselves now.
Good instances in terms of quick levels:
RFC
SFK
Deadmines for both
Stockades for Alliance
Scholo for both
Strath for both
Sunken Temple for both (do the Swamp into series from the quest giver outside first, tons of free exp)

I'm overwhelmed at how much content there is. My worgen druid is level 22. My goblin shaman is level 6. I haven't touched my 80's yet or the new zones for max level.

What price is it, then? We've been paying $15 a month for years and nothing really changed in the world and quest lines until right now.

Yeah, because it's part of the expansion storyline.

My bank is half full of various old armor sets and bows that I refuse to throw away for nostalgic and/or aesthetic reasons. At some point I'll have to throw stuff away, even though it hurts me.

(I think just yesterday I finally sold my freaking fire resistance set for Vanilla raiding and I still felt wrong about it. I have a problem.)

You don't have to own the expansion to get the content. It's free, and you're crying that Elwynn Forest hasn't changed much.

Seriously, you can't possibly be this stupid. They didn't do this for charity or to show gratitude towards fanbase support, it's to push their own agenda; the expansion storyline. I didn't say it was part of the expansion content, said it was part of the storyline genius. So not only are they doing it because they have to but because even Blizzard knows their 1-60 content is stale as 5 year old bread.

And stop calling it free, it's not free unless you think mommy and daddy paying for the game is 'free'. I've been a subscriber since the release of the game basically and bought every expansion, I like the game but every content patch pushed I don't consider free.

Blizzard isn't a political activist group.

No shit. That argument still doesn't take anything away from the fact that the world changed for free.

Then it's brand new content for the same price as you paid for years as the world stayed exactly the same. Get it yet?
