Pair of daggers (that can work in combat) for the rogue legendary.

I might just switch to my rogue from my DK. My rogue is on a tawny wind rider ><

Wonder if we will be battling alongside Illidan.

Blizzard said something along the lines of that they thought that the story wasn't interesting enough, or that enough people wanted to see that storyline played out.

oh my god. combat daggers. That shit blows my face off. how long has it been since that was viable? I'm glad I'm actually in a position to get this legendary. I played mut from 3.3 until recently, and combat is a refreshing change. I have no clue how they'll set the speed for the MH tho. Good times to be a rogue. All 20 of us.

Speaking of rogues, i've seen so many cool looking fist weapons for the transmo stuff, i just had to play mine again. Especially since i'll be able to wield that badass fist weapon from Moorabi in heroic Gundrak, or the one from the last boss of heroic Shattered Halls. I'm hoping you can use a main hand fist weapon model for offhand too, but knowing Blizzard, we won't. :(

It just sucks that it seems fist weapons are only good for Combat.

And im that close to change the race of my rogue from female night elf to male worgen. Male worgen + fists = badass.

The new dungeons/raids sound cool so far. Ugh, and they are putting in a Rogue legendary? That's going to make me want to come back even more.

I'm interested to see how they adjust the daggers to make them viable for combat. Maybe slow the attack speed for the main hand when in combat spec? Who knows.

Caverns of Time

So the Deathwing raid is actually(well start in anyway) in Northrend? Kind of unexpected. Maybe it will put some life back into Dalaran. Unless they put some portal to the temple right into SW/Org.

Can't wait to see the 5 mans.

Possibly. MMO Champ says:
you enter the 5-mans AND raid through COT
. Is there a portal there in Dalaran? I don't remember.

There's no reason to go to the temple in Northrend. All the instance portals are in Caverns of Time.

Why would you enter the 3rd 5 man and raid from the COT? I thought those 2 were in the present?

Because you're time traveling in all the 5 mans and the raid.

You will enter the new 5-mans and raid in Caverns of Time.
-The first new 5-man is called "Endtime" where Nozdormu will show players the future if Deathwing wins.
-The second new 5-man, "Well of Eternity" is a journey into the past, the War of the Ancients specifically, to help Thrall recover the Dragon Soul to use against Deathwing.
-The third new 5-man, called "Hour of Twilight", has players escorting Thrall in present day to Wyrmrest Temple, where the final battle against Deathwing will take place.

Northrend Dragonblight and Wyrmrest Temple is in the past.

Yeah, good point. That's how I've been viewing it anyway. I mean it would clear up a lot of the confusion if they just phased out Dragonblight for those at level 85 but I guess that'd be to much work.

Maybe im being dumb, but it says right there "escorting Thrall in present day to Wyrmrest Temple". That's not in the past!

Well, entering Outland and Northrend in game is time traveling.

Edit: I get what you're saying.

The Deathwing fight(s) sound awesome.

The new dungeons sound good too.

Really kind of disappointed with the legendary daggers though. As people have already said, Legendary quests are the best, and the type of things they require you to do should be more widespread. We really need a high-end questing system that is challenging, rather than just quests which are a means to an end (leveling, or gold/rep/tokens in the case of dailies.)

The daggers really are pandering though, to make rogues feel better after maybe feeling a little left out (in PvE at least) compared to the other melee classes. It's like affirmative action for rogues and it kind of bothers me. I'm sure there will be people who had a rogue at 80, or got to 85 then dropped, that will be back from a hiatus, or switching from their DK or whatnot, just so they can grab legendaries.

It's a band-aid that really leaves me bitter, especially as a tank still waiting on a legendary. No, Shadowmourne doesn't count - sure I could use it as a tank, but it was certainly not designed for tanking. It was only good because of all the sockets (which were red, screaming DPS) and the massive amount of stamina.

And epic gems dropping in the raid? That's something we haven't seen since BC. Kind of messes with my plans of coming back to play (mainly) the gem market before the next expansion. At least until we get more details when the PTR goes up, it's not looking good.

Oh, and 8 boss fights is kind of disappointing. We've been lacking on quantity this whole expansion, and it's not like the quality has been much better (if at all) than Wrath and BC. They're just below a threshold that feels good. Sub-10 is almost definitely too few for a tier. I'd feel more comfortable with 12+.

I always considered leveling up as passing time. When you entered Northrend, you were at a different point in time. Now that we're all 85 we have more demanding issues at hand. We already slayed the problems of Northrend yet when we go back there we can still go into Ulduar and ICC. I'm guessing thats why they need the portals to show us "present time".

I don't understand why they didn't just give us a questline to have Dragonblight phase into current time.

Zones look and sound awesome, really looking forward to this patch.

Just because you enter the new areas through CoT doesn't really mean they can't be in the present, it could just be 'Now you've seen what will occur and what we have been through to prevent it, it is up to you heroes!' /teleports to northrend.

I mean, it literally means nothing, it's just more convenient if they're all located in a similar place.

Nah, he's right, they actually did claim the storyline was complete. Maybe they revised it later because they realized how blatantly wrong that was, who knows. Either way it was a pretty big slap in the face for the lore and a shoddy reason to skimp on our raid zone.

I have 2 alts approaching 75 and I was going to level up JC on both to play the epic gem market with 3. Heh. I could still do that next expansion.

I leveled up every profession except leatherworking this expansions and it's really not bad.

Anyway...

The dungeons definitely seem good enough to come back, at least for a bit, when the patch launches. Certainly more compelling than ZG/ZA. (They really should have at least one new 5-man every patch though. Sad that they skipped one to pair with Firelands. But again, they kind of screwed up with all that - we've missed out on a whole raid tier this expansion instead with the 4.1 crap.)

And we'll see about the gems. If I transfer, I'd be moving my DK (Enchanting/Alchemy) and probably my Warrior (Mining/JC) instead of the Shaman (Herbalism/Inscription) who was my second 80/85.

I have a Mage (Tailoring/Alchemy) and Paladin (Mining/Blacksmithing) both at 69 I think, but I could just reroll them if I really wanted to rather then finish them off and transfer. I don't have a job right now, so I'd really rather not pay for more than one or two transfers within at least a 3 month period.

Echo of Sylvanas: Spawned from shattered timeways and cloistered within the Ruby Dragonshrine, a maddened fragment of the Forsaken's leader, Sylvanas Windrunner, waits restlessly. Having lost everything and unable to find peace, this tormented echo aches for a chance to unleash her dark fury at anything still living within these barren, time-twisted wastes.

Echo of Tyrande: Once high priestess of Elune and leader of the night elves, this time-twisted fragment of Tyrande Whisperwind now wanders the desolate future of Azeroth. Enveloped by eternal midnight, she is forever separated from the comforting light of Elune and torn by questions about why her goddess did nothing to put an end to such madness.

Echo of Jaina: The tormented fragment of Jaina Proudmoore has been split and infused within the shattered pieces of her staff. To restore balance to the timeways, this echo must be defeated. However, the devastating magical power possessed by the once-proud ruler of Theramore is hardly lost to her time-havocked spectre. In this future Azeroth, she is only divided, and waiting....

Echo of Baine: Enraged by his failure to protect the world and, most importantly, the Horde, this time-ravaged shade of Baine Bloodhoof lingers within the ruins of the Obsidian Dragonshrine. Although he's still as powerful as the tauren high chieftain from the present, within this shattered future Azeroth, this guilt-ridden echo is little more than a discordant vessel of unquenchable malice and anger.

Sounds very cool.

Rokal said:

Pretty excited about the rogue legendary. A quest that actually uses stealth/pick-pocketing and stuff? Sounds really fun.

I'm tempted to power-level a rogue and main it for 4.3 to at least try the quest.

Furthest I've ever got with one is ~Level 12. And I've started a few.

Last was a Worgen Rogue, but if I stuck with Horde, I'd probably make an Orc/Goblin Engineer/Leatherworker.

I'm sort of upset that the first instance is only taking place in Dragonblight since I love seeing destruction to everything... That was one of the main reasons Cataclysm excited me. The fights seem awesome though.

The War of Ancients will probably be my favorite of the three. Hopefully a lot of lore comes from it.

I'm guessing next expansion is about Azshara and the lost islands and such as well as Pandaren's.

That small thing is supposed to be the Well of Eternity? The Well of Eternity was actually a massive lake which had three cities on its shores. That was supposed to bring Sargaras into the world? o_O

Really interested to see how they handle all of this time fuckery.
Cities are supposed to house hundreds of thousands yet all we see are 2-3 houses and 7 quest givers. Scale is a total bitch. I would think, however, that the Well of Eternity was such a big deal that they would at least make it memorable. The thing we're looking at is actually a stupid fountain doodad that we see in every other city.

What? that isn't a doodad at all, never seen anything comparable graphically to that besides the maelstrom (this looks a bit small to me, but looking at the pillars and statues I bet the sense of scale is decent from on the ground).

Yeah, I was exaggerating greatly about it being a doodad but look how pointless this fountain is (which is labeled Well of Eternity on MMO so it could be wrong):

patch43_8.jpg

It just doesn't match the scale I was hoping for at all.

The pic of it turning green and such looks pretty cool graphically and very similar to the maelstrom whirlpool but I was hoping a lake would summon Sargeras, not a pool. I understand the one in Hyjal is a pool but not this one!

I'm assuming we're getting help from Tyrande, Illidan, and Malfurion. Some pics indicate that they are there helping us. I even think we may get help from Alexstraza and co. (at least Alex. There's a pic of her in the background on mmo). These characters of such power are getting ridiculous. I mean it seems like we're eventually going to be fighting Titans lol.

Like I said earlier, I'm betting that Queen Aszhara is our next enemy.

During this time frame, Illidan was actually on Azshara's side, then left to gather vials of the Well to make a new one later.

True but perhaps they display both sides of Illidan during this instance. Unless this starts off right when he decides he needs to get the Demon Soul.

Scale aside, it being cobbled together entirely out of old assets is kind of depressing, but I guess I wouldn't have really expected much else.

The picture of the fountain especially is like... any random scene from a Night Elf outpost.

I doubt we'll actually kill any of the characters who are meant to survive. We'll probably injure Azshara and she'll /arthas and fall back Wrathgate style.

Also, I'm beyond excited for the End Time instance. So excited.

I don't think we're meant to kill Azshara. It definitely will be one of those "you can't kill me, yet!" scenarios. Same with Mannoroth. Mannoroth died by Grom and Azshara is still active.

Yeah. Just making sure since it'll be exactly like the rest of the COT instances. End of Time and the "present" day one seem interesting though.

Why does anyone think that fountain is the well of eternity? The huge green pool of fel energy is obviously the well, the fountain is just a screenshot from the instance. If the fountain is the 'before' yeah that's pretty disappointing but it seems unlikely to me.

Nothing in the actual "after" shot looks original either, it's a heck of a lot of re-use if it's supposed to be a major set piece. This is the first, and only, selection of new 5 mans this expansion, so to me if they want to do some powerful backdrops it'd just be nice to see some nice new art design in them. There's some new models, that's cool, but the environments are where the game can really look good, I think.

Either way, I'm just sick of all that flash to begin with, honestly. I'd love to get an expansion pack that was mostly about Horde vs Alliance and some of the politics or deeper internals of the characters beyond the one dimensional. Gets so boring when EVERYTHING is this omnipotent horseshit. They try to play it with such a straight face too, which is odd for a company that's pretty solid at their self-depreciation and humor.

Some precisions about the transmogrification :
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3196342583

Since we announced the transmogrification feature coming to World of Warcraft with patch 4.3, we have monitored thousands of follow-up comments, questions and suggestions from players all over the world.

What follows is our current list of rules for transmogrification. This is a set of rules that we expect to change over time, and is not intended to be 100% comprehensive, but we hope that it can be referenced to answer most questions that players currently have about what they can and cannot expect to be able to do with transmogrification.

• The character must be able to equip both items.

• Only common (green), rare (blue) or epic (purple) items may be transmogrified. (exceptions: a select few of these items will prevented from being used to transmogrify if they are inappropriate)

• Items must share the same armor type (examples: plate for plate, cloth for cloth)

• Weapons must be the same weapon type (exceptions: Guns, Crossbows, or Bows)

• Guns, Crossbows, and Bows can be used to transmogrify Guns, Crossbows, or Bows.

• Main hand weapons can only be used to transmogrify Main hand weapons.

• Off-hand weapons can only be used to transmogrify Off-hand weapons.

• One handed weapons can be used to transmogrify a Main hand or Off-hand weapon.

• Using an item for transmogrify makes it soulbound.

• Using an item for transmogrify makes it non-refundable.

• Using an item for transmogrify makes it non-tradable.

• Heirlooms and Account Bound items can be transmogrified.

• Heirlooms and Account Bound items can be used to transmogrify.

• Legendary items cannot be transmogrified.

• Legendary items cannot be used to transmogrify.

• Fishing Poles cannot be transmogrified.

• Fishing Poles cannot be used to transmogrify.

• Mailing an item strips its transmogrification.

• Placing an item in Void Storage strips its transmogrification.

• Vendoring an item strips its transmogrification.

• The displayed enchant will be that of the currently equipped item.

• There may be individual items that are excluded from being transmogrified on the basis that they were originally added to the game as absurdities. (examples: a weapon that looks like a fish, or a chest piece that is invisible)

I'm sad about the main hand/offhand weapons... i really wanted to dual wield this : http://www.wowhead.com/item=37631

Just read that the random dungeon finder will have tier drops (lower item level than normal). I also see that there will be no tier from Valor.

Now I see the random raid finder wont have a lockout shared with normal/heroic, but will it have a lockout in general?

Looks like skilled people will have a reason to run random raid to transmorg if they like the tier enough.
