Fantastic.
Yeah, I was just coming to post that. In some circles (koff koff), people are saying OMG IT WILL MAKE THE GAME UNPLAYABLE! but like... I dunno... don't be a douchebag in chat and it won't affect you?
I can't possible see how this can be abused by cesspool guilds... <=Sarcasm
From the comments...
Will be interesting to see if we can get the recruiters of rival guilds chat banned. I know we're gonna try it, haha.

any player who is reported multiple times under the Spam or Abusive Chat categories will, after investigation, receive an account-wide silence penalty
Spamming. 24 hour ban. Get friends from other guilds to make reports so it doesn't look like an attack. Most of us have played on this server since Vanilla/TBC, so the forces we could throw at people would be pretty difficult to ignore.
It says they review the report.
" Depending on the type of report, players who are found to be abusive in chat or engage in inappropriate chat behaviors may be silenced from engaging in certain ways within the game."

PS, thisis pretty damn amazing.Illidan questchain
I mean the main issue is you're playing on a TV :/ The resolution is playable, but the resolution at a distance of many feet instead of at your desk is a big difference. I had to scale text up a lot when I played on my TV for a while,a nd that was just 1080p. You definitely can scale everything, but it's going to involve a lot of tweaking of lots of other mods sadly. I would try BetterQuestText or whatever that questing mod is for that stuff.

There's no chance they let you guys silence someone for advertising guild shit. It's more likely that you guys get actioned for clogging the system up with bullshit, in fact.
So if 150 people report someone for hitting a guild recruitment macro every 2 minutes, you think we're more likely to see an infraction than they are? I doubt it.
I don't.

Whatever the case, this is going to be abused to hell and back.
Would I like to see less of the clueless right wing babble in trade? Absolutely. Can I live without people calling each other retards in public chat? Of course. Do I think this system will work? Sometimes...
youre saying just gear out on pvp boxes? no complaints here, basically what im doing now since im learning holy pally
Add me too, Ashodin#1707697 is fine for our group. We aren't trying to steamroll anything. We just want to try to get stuff. Feel free to add me: prophetfive#1343
It's about time they added MOBA style communication penalties to toxic communication reports. Now they just have to implement them properly, i.e. don't let a multi-boxer abuse them. If they do this right, it's going to be great. Something needs to change about the global chat channels.
How do World Bosses work in Legion? I just knocked one over while doing a world quest, but when I typed /raidinfo, there's no mention of a lockout... Can I knock it over again this week & get loot? I got 860 shoulders from that first kill...
They use this system in HotS and have done a great job with it. Anytime someone claims the system was abused on the forums usually have their chatlogs thrown back at them from the match they were "falsely" accused/reported for.
I have the UI scale up high-- forgot to mention that. But thanks for the advice. I had Chatter already, but I'll mess around with Bartender to get it to play nice with the rest of the game. I'm hoping Blizzard figures something out for text on big resolutions and screens as 4K and the like become more popular.
It says they review the report.
It's ya boyJust a heads up, if you're playing Alliance on a US server. Asmongold who is a big WoW youtuber is doing free Moose runs on July 15th starting at 8pm CST until he can't do it anymore.
Perfect for anyone who wants to get one and fall under those criteria.

GUILD CHAT
Because of the voluntary nature of guild participation, we take a more lenient stance in guild channels. Only the most severe violations (i.e. Racial/Ethnic/National, Extreme Sexual/Violence, Real-life Threats) will be considered.
I've had people suspended from the game for mildly annoying me by doing little more than reporting them, with no evidence, with just the word "griefing". For one of those suspension, a blue responded to me in game asking for proof and I pointed out that I'm not required to provide proof, just the report and closed the chat window.
Don't assume them reviewing anything means something.
WOW I am soooo disappointed. Anytime anyone on the team has a problem and gets toxic I report them, and type reported. But I guess when you do that they will report you for reporting them. I did not break any rules, but I am silenced,. Thanks Blizzard. do you even LOOK at the reports, or is the terms of service only for show?
For confimration, you were not silenced for reporting others. You were silenced for using chat like this:
2016-06-07 19:25:03LILI WHAT THE (double expletives) ARE YOU DOING (expletive noun)
2016-06-11 10:46:50 kill tracer noobs (religious figure) (obscene word)
2016-06-14 00:35:25 AWSOME the (offensive words) THAT CANT REPLY TO MY INSULTS TOOK MY PICK
2016-06-14 lol I will (politier word would've been 'mess with') with him the whole game now
Today I did two beta dungeons, Eye of Azshara and Halls of Valor. Both were quite fun, though I honestly think they might be the easiest dungeons have ever been. I was initially a bit worried they were mandatory during the levelling process in this expansion, but it seems they lowered the difficulty even more to account for that.
I mean, I don't want hardcore Mythic+15 dungeons during levelling or anything, but both times people were able to completely ignore boss mechanics and come out unscathed. I felt a bit silly being the only one running away from an explosion of light, for example, when everyone else was just fine taking the hit.

Bleah, I want to do all the optional bosses in Brawler's Guild but one of them drops from Darkmoon Faire prizes and that just ended last weekend. I guess I'll have to leave that one unchecked until it rolls around next month. Maybe I'll have my team of moths ready to kill Doopy by then.
Sorry Anal [Rupture], etc. fans but according to the guidelines spamming that shit in trade chat is a reportable offence. Albeit a minor one.
Brawler's Guild is closing once the next patch drops for a while and that's more than likely going to be before the next Darkmoon Faire, so you won't be able to fight that optional boss. Perhaps the item will still drop and you can still go into the Brawler's Guild are and turn it in, though.

Blizzard has a pretty clear set of guidelines:

They're using the same approach and scaling penalty for toxic communication reports from Heroes of the Storm, they record chat logs in game. I don't think there's been many, if any, false positives with HotS mutings for toxic assholes.
http://us.battle.net/heroes/en/foru... don't think they're doing anything wrong lol
I want this little guy as a pet in WoW.
And of course I lose my fucking GPU 7 days before the prepatch.
It's really doubtful the pre-patch is going to be the same day as the end of a PVP season. And we normally get a weeks advance warning anyway.
