What the hell. This UD warlock was the first character I ever created. I don't even have a single alliance character.

It's my old RL that has the gnome fetish, not me. Whenever we had to open a ticked we always asked the GM to change him to a female gnome with pink ponytails.
In Spires of Arak there are specific treasures that have always required archeology because they give Arakoa fragments, when you are doing the first few quest in Spires the guy can train you in archaeology.

I picked them all up a few days ago on a toon that didn't and still doesn't have archaeology.
Perhaps it's a glitch, perhaps it's been changed, but it happened.
How much gold have you people made this expansion?
I started with 330 k gold and now I have about 3.3 million.
It would have been more but I have setup 30 lvl 3 garrisons and bought mounts for about 500 k gold. I've also paid my subscriptions with gold since the token was introduced.
I am currently making about 5-600 k gold a month from gold missions, bags, enchants , transmog and rare mission rewards (the 675 6.2 missions).
I have all 30 chars on the same ah, across two accounts, two different connected servers. Half of these characters dinged 100 after the latest patch (300% xp pot + Gorgrond bonus objectives ftw). Half of the characters are not using their professions to make gold.

30 garrisons? I have 5 100s and will have every class at 100 before Legion, but that's it. No desire to level multiple classes. I'm running 5 max Garrisons for gold, but that's already leading to burnout. I figure I make enough to pay the monthly gold fee. I have almost 400k now and that's plenty for me.
I've spent around 800k just on mounts this expansion, and around 200k thus far in game time tokens. Haven't really tracked any miscellaneous expenses, but despite any issues I have with WoD in content, it's certainly been absurdly generous with gold. Total take so far is probably between 1.5 to 2 million. Only two garrisons.

Kind of surprised when I got ganked on my character, it's been like weeks since it happened. I'm happy there aren't more horde to world pvp because not having a glad sanctum or pvp gear makes you such food. Took a 150k envenom crit :|. World pvp for people looking for a challenge probably sucks but I think the allure of open world pvp was always a power fantasy and looking for advantages over others. I'm hoping the new honor system is less of a grind (I find it extremely tedious to gear up new alts in pvp gear) but given this expansion's numerous time gates I think it's going to fall on it's face.

Well I mean at the rate blizzard releases games SC3 probably wouldn't be a thing for another decade at least. So that's probably not far from the truth lol.

i'm pretty much of the mindset that Heroes of the Storm is essentially Starcraft 3. at the very least, they seem to have positioned that game as the eventual end of all of the storylines from all of their games. they all fight in purgatory for eternity... kind of poetic, i suppose

I am not even sure what to say to this. On one hand, SC2 was not great, and the e-sports scene for StarCraft isn't what it used to be with the new money going to LoL and DOTA 2. On the other, SC:BW was amazing and iconic.
It's a pretty sad way to go.
I'm pretty excited for the final SC2 expansion. Love the Protoss (love the Zerg too, but I'm too scrubby to play them ).
The next Starcraft game will be World of Starcraft. Believe! MMOFPS. Hopefully they continue with the RTS series at the same time though, unlike what they did with Warcraft.
Edit: Got Silthide, the Ironbound Proto-Drake (Ulduar 25 meta), and the Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher (ICC 10 meta) last night
Next tasks are the Vitreous Stone Drake, the Argent Hippogryph, the Cata raid mounts, and the Drake of the North Wind. Luckily I switched mains to my DK, so I can also farm MOP bosses once I get around to doing them.

Been doing premade Arathi Basins tonight and owning. Got Perfection and Resilient Victory which are both super hard to get in randoms

the love story stuff has kind of polluted the game, but in general its been okay. I hope the Protoss story elevates it a bit. Too bad we have yet to see much more of that pink haired girl, she seemed like she would have been a great recurring personality.
i think an animated TV show would be a fine fit for StarCraft, with the way they structured the story stuff in the games.
i think they are going to have to do a genre shift if they do another Starcraft game. The RTS genre isn't doing much anymore, I guess. I don't think it will be an MMOFPS, it'll combat with Overwatch too much.
Maybe it can be a tactical strategy game, like XCOM? Turn-based. I really don't know the numbers between XCOM and StarCraft, though, I'm sure StarCraft sold way more.
anyway, back to WoW. Only need 3 more tomes to get my legendary ring, i think? Unless there's something else before then.

Ugh I don't think that I wanna do brewfest anymore. The pet is cute but that's about all that looks appealing from the event.

It's worrying that they're holding it all back since the announcement, because it gives me pause to think that their Blizzcon lineup would be pretty thin without the Legion info they do have ready for the public.
It depends on how much they're willing to reveal about Diablo 3's next expansion. It's been mentioned only a handful of times, and with Legion probably taking center stage I would expect them to want to space out major announcements and details like that, but it's not like there's a total lack of stuff to show.
There's also Overwatch, and announcing various Beta rollouts would be a pretty big thing too with more game info.
I can't imagine Blizzard remaking old titles, but if they did, they would need to re-do all of WarCraft from 1-3 in the new engine. Because reasons.
WC1 would tie into the movie (and 2 and 3 would tie into the sequels if the movie does well enough).
Edit: They'll also have the movie to talk about.

I guess I should say that without Legion this Blizzcon threatens to be pretty unexciting because we already have gobs of info about the other IPs under Blizzard's belt. I want to play Overwatch. I can't say that about anything else that might come out of that convention. I don't play enough D3 to get hyped about an under-wraps new expansion. The only things to look forward to are 'am I going to quit WoW permanently? (if Legion looks bad)' and 'how much money is Overwatch going to cost me? (because I need it to be f2p)' Disappointment on either of these fronts looms high. If this is 3 days of 'go watch Warcraft, coming soon to theaters!' then boy howdy am I going to nerdrage.
The digital ticket is generally worth it for the coverage if you plan on watching it a good bit. Haven't made up my mind on it this year though

Yeah, honestly, the indepth panels are usually really good to watch anyway. I know you can just see them on YouTube after or whatever, but I tend to put this in HD on my big telly as its live and it's just pretty fun.
The ingame stuff is a nice bonus, and the more Blizz games you play, the more it becomes worth it.

So, are we just assuming a D3 expansion is in the works, or has it been formally announced in some fashion?
The problem is, there is always at least one guy streaming his digital pass stream, so the only reason to buy the pass for fence sitters is the yearly items.

Yeah, but you buy the pass you get to skip out on the memes and porn playing in the background on the stream.
I resubbed a while ago and started leveling a monk (hadn't played consistently since the middle of Wrath). I'm at level 40, and the dps spec seems really undercooked to me. I'm basically keeping tiger palm up and then alternating between jab and blackout kick. Are all specs this simple now? Is it just because I am low level? Am I doing it wrong?
It's because you're low level.
Windwalker Monks probably have more buttons than any other DPS spec at 100. Them and Enhancement Shamans.
Bit of both. You will have more abilities later, but they also pruned a bunch of abilities from classes at WoD release. Opinions differ on whether they pruned too much or not.

Finally finished the Hand of the Prophet rep grind on my alliance DK. Got my empowered augment rune on her. But man that sucked having to do it again. Really should be an account-wide thing.
