This isn't even the first quest like this (fucking trees...).

Someone at the quest design department needs to be fired.

this looks like a fun way to start launch.

Honestly after 5 fucking expansions you'd think they'd learn that having the opening zone be so fucking funneled was a terrible idea. Oh wait, they did in WotLK. But for some reason they decided that was shit and this is better.

Atleast alli and horde have different opening zones, no?

I always thought everyone cramming into one starting zone, the ganking, fighting for quest items was always a part of the charm of a new xpac release. In a few weeks it'll all be business as usual anyway.

I've been wondering what I could do while I wait for my copy of WoD, and then it hit me: for the first time in 2 years, Pandaria is almost completely empty. I can finally farm rare spawns in peace!

Does anyone know yet what class will be the ideal tank class at 100? Same for dps and heals at 100? Trying to figure out what class I want to get to 100 first. I've been out of the loop for a long time. Played a monk tank in MoP briefly, but was disappointed how weak they felt then although I enjoyed the class overall.

What in blue hell is happening in this picture?

Holy shit, is this what I have to look forward to when I get home?

409 person queue 6 hours before WoD. Oh boy.

That's a whole server trying to complete the same few quests.

And yes, probably. Unless your server is low pop.

Guarantee you a lot of people had that exact same idea.

Stuck on These Colors Don't Run for an hour with 0/8. Think I'm gonna call it soon and wait for hotfixes.

I just got to that one. "Out of Range". "No Valid Targets". This is bullshit.

Edit: apparently it has to be a mob you've killed yourself. Which would be fine, if I'd actually seen any live mobs in the 15m I've been here.

They do but some realms are so skewed...

On my realm there is probably 30 Horde for every 1 Alliance player. And I wouldn't be surprised if the difference was higher.

They have the tech to split zones into different instances. It's used brilliantly in Tanaan. It was flawless. Why not use it in the first zone, too? It's bumming me out. Tanaan Jungle was brilliant, it's a superb intro. Really got me into the mood to play, then it's essentially impossible to do that.

I always thought everyone cramming into one starting zone, the ganking, fighting for quest items was always a part of the charm of a new xpac release. In a few weeks it'll all be business as usual anyway.

There's about 30 seconds of lag. Seriously. You click on something, you wait, it might work. Might not. Probably not. Then you click again.

I'm just going to go to bed and hope it's less busy in the morning. Really disappointing though; WotLK and Cata were pretty smooth. MoP had an initial hurdle that on some realms was as bad as this.

If you're on anything but a low pop server, or Blizzard release a lot of hotfixes quickly for you US folk... tonight is going to suck. I'm one of those people who usually ignore those who say "oh just come back tomorrow" (fuck that, I want to play my game now!!) but honestly... just come back tomorrow.

Anyone still buying the physical CE?

I've been buying them since WoW launched ten years ago but i'm slowly running out of room...

They don't care since it's no longer a problem after the first day or two. Shitty, but not surprised.
Just thinking maybe there's a usefulness to them by doing this crap because it seems to be in every expansion haha. They would definitely have learned that lesson by now if that wasn't the case you'd think.

I don't remember MoP, Wrath, or Cata being anywhere near this bad.

MoP had a bad one in the Panda starting zone at one point in beta, but when they opened it up to the annual pass folks that became a rather obvious issue and they fixed it.

That's what I think.
I doubt they spend time designing around this sort of thing when it only affects people for about a day. Sometimes even just maybe 5 or 6 hours. And I think that's fine. No point designing their quests and zone structure around something that'll only be an issue for a day.

I feel like Wrath was pretty bad waiting for the boats and shit right at the start as Horde.

Or was that Cata? Can't even remember anymore haha.

That's the reason why I don't play at launch :P

How hard would it be to create a version of some of these quests that was different for just the first week of the launch, though? Like, if there's one item to interact with, maybe make 10 or 20? Just for the first week, then hotfix it out.

Easy fix. Massively improves the bottlenecking situation.

They split up the starter zones much better in Mists, Wrath and Cata. The only bottlenecks were mob respawn timers, which didn't get fixed until after CRZ became a thing.

You can use the stone next to the flight path next to your garrison, worked for me

The tower quest though.....fuck this I'm gonna get some sleep

Caved in and decided to boost shaman. Sad part is I'm already planning to level a druid soon too, but I want to wait until heirlooms are put back in so I can do int leather.

Well it might do something, because in the past I've always taken time off work and burst my way to Max (Missed out on Realm First Warrior in MOP by like 20 minutes) and what you find is that people naturally just give up. Some people go do dungeons spam instead. Other people try out new features like Pokemon in MOP or this time they'll probably go muck around with their Garrison ETC.

Usually by the time you get to the mid-way point, the zones are practically empty. In Cataclysm there was almost nobody in Twilight Highlands/Uldum/Deepholm when I got there, MOP was similar in that once I hit Kun-Lai/Dread Wastes/Townlong there was again just practically nobody.

I don't think they do it on purpose, but the persistent folk will definitely end up ahead and it usually does create a "wave" kind of effect through the leveling zones, so it gives off that impression.

Looks like that zone needs a roundabout. They should have consulted European traffic officials.

Just picked up some pizza and drinks for my all night grind. should be fun. Haven't been this excited for wow since Lich King

All tanks are relatively close in terms of survivability, except I think monk needs some buffs. Warrior are topping followed closely by the remaining 3. I myself main a paladin tank. But you can't really go wrong with one. Fury warriors are quite OP right now. No idea about healing. Classes are reasonably balanced in wow where 1 class will be op one patch and then it will get hit by nerf hammer and something else will be op. Play whatever you enjoy the most.

Oh I thought you were speaking about thé old heirloom up to lvl 85 and 90. The only heirloom that goes up to 100 were weapons dropped by garrosh hellscream on any difficulty higher thab LFR. They dont drop anymore

You guys know that Auxilla (the guy that hit 99 so fast) is Athene right?

It's not Athene. He lied, and was called out on his stream. Then he went offline. Then he disabled the youtube video comments when people called him out again. That shaman is another streamer.

So glad I won't be joining the NPC-clicking hysteria on minute one! I'll be there 3-4 hours in.
