The Skyreach Challenge Mode daily yesterday was an absolute beast, although I hear that is one of the hardest ones.

It was a lot of fun. The trash was crazy. That blue bird after the first boss caught my group by surprise when it knocked off our tank from the platform lol

Well, I hit 100. I thought Nagrand was dreadful. Epic cutscene with
Thrall and Garrosh
though.

Now to decide if I want to tank or DPS. Guild needs DPS more but I like tanking, but then again history has shown I am awful at tanking with DK, so...probably DPS.

They got rid of the queues for the most part, but Garrisons are still a gamble at best during prime time on my server. :/

Trying to decide on what class to boost in the meantime. Never got a Warlock past level 20, so it's about time. On the other side Hunter has become much more appealing to me over the years with transmog and now Lone Wolf. Decisions.

So, the gear difference for Tanks and DPS is much much smaller now.

Check this out: (care of: http://www.wowwiki.com/Bonus_armor )
Bonus Armor originally referred to extra armor on any cloth, leather, mail, or plate items, or any armor that was on any other type of item, i.e. trinkets, rings, and necklaces.

Bonus armor was altered with the release of Warlords of Draenor to make up for the removal of Dodge and Parry, becoming a tank-specific stat. As with Spirit, it’ll only show up on rings, necklaces, cloaks, and trinkets. It’s clearly valuable to all tanks, and will be tuned to be much stronger than other secondary stats. Tanks will want to use items with Bonus Armor for those slots.

I have my pvp stuff from Ashran and mostly pay attention to the ilvl and the secondary stat I want, when deciding what to use for my tank set. (Basically highest item level with your best secondary stat)

I haven't tanked with my DK ever (never got him to level cap), but I play protection warrior and arms all the time:
Stat priority for protection warrior: (from: http://www.icy-veins.com/forums/topic/7168-warrior-60-transition-guide/ )
Bonus Armor > Mastery > Crit > Versatility > Haste > Multistrike

If I were you, I'd start building small tank set of those items with bonus armor, and play both. Play around with the Proving grounds, and get comfortable with both specs. :)

And now everything is fucked again on EU side. Jezus this never ends World server down and yet again garrison issues.

I would double check on this.. last night trying to login (US) I got world server down twice and the dreaded "90% boss". I exited out of WoW and bnet completely, launched them again and it was fine.

It is a known issue and i am not the only one see blizzard eu twitter and the forums. It's all fucked again.

It's down again? Got kicked out last night, tried to get back a couple times without any success. It's the only time I could play. :-

Unholy and Blood have pretty similar stat preferences too (Mastery/Multistrike), so you can share a lot of gear between specs, maybe just switching out your jewelry/cloak/trinkets. That's what I'm doing.

I still haven't played any of this expansion yet. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend.

HOWEVER...I've been listening to the CE soundtrack in my car and my god, it is wonderful.

Yea, the music has been consistently fantastic in all expansions, but really loving a lot of Draenor especially.

Probably been mentioned already, but DON'T use the follower upgrade tokens unless you have enough followers/tokens to actually complete the higher ilvl missions. I mistakenly thought that having a higher ilvl would increase my success rate on missions, so I stacked them on an epic follower and got ilvl 630. Turns out there is no difference between an L100 ilvl 630 and ilvl600 for missions that do not have a ilvl requirement. Now I have a bunch of 615 missions clogging up my available missions and I cannot complete any of them since only one of my followers is able to actually contribute to the mission in any meaningful way (have another guy at 606 who barely helps.)

It wouldn't be so bad if these missions gave a bunch of exp to help level people, but even L100 ilvl 600 followers are red to these missions as if they were lower level characters. The missions also take 8 hours and reward the same exp as a regular L100 mission (1500 exp.)

Play the class you enjoy. Don't pay attention to the flavor / rages of the month unless the only happiness you get from the game is dominating the DPS recount charts.
Yup. I love my Enh. Really fun class and orcs look great now. Still waiting to jump into the xpac but I'm still sticking with him. I don't care if he's bad now or later. FotM rotates hard to keep people playing, as intended. Eventually Enh will do fine.

Still, I prefer PvP over PvE by a little bit and don't mind being the underdog. Learning the class inside and out each xpac then when you get a bit of gear and a numbers pass happens, all those previous beatings were the foundation for you to lay waste.

Fun times ahead for all classes. I do wish Unleash was pruned tho. Such a shit ability the way it is. Press it because it exists. Too bad its on the GCD.

I'm just gonna say it...the dungeons in this are way too fucking difficult. With the DPS and support squish it's almost impossible to find a tank that can survive and a healer that can heal enough all in one group. And this is just in normal dungeons. I can't even imagine heroic or raids.

I am not having any problems with the LFD tool, heroics are barely noticable more difficulty, as usual.

not comparable to BC back then, I wish heroics were that hard again

I've had the exact opposite experience in my dungeons.

Ehhh, disagree. They are harder than wotlk/mop dungeons but still easier than bc/cata dungeons. You don't really need to CC on most heroic packs as long as your group is good at interrupts/stuns. I think they've struck a good middle ground with the difficulty, I'd personally like them to be a bit tougher, but, that's what challenge modes are for if I want to go that route.

cc in heroics? I havent seen that since bc

Those Challenge Mode Gold reward weapons looks soooo good. Hope I can get them one day.

Does it unlock for your whole account or just the character that won the CM?

My core group of friends bailed on WoW before challenge modes were a thing, so I'm really looking forward to them. WoD has brought a lot of them back and so far everyone thinks it's the best since TBC/Wrath days.

Odd, I just got DC'd and now I can't connect anymore. It just sits at connecting and then tells me I've been disconnected from the server.

Let me guess. You finished a dungeon that started in the garrison where you queued? :D
Same thing happened to me. Did not try to log back though.

In my experience, CC was needed in heroics right at the start of Cataclysm.

Yep, I remember that too. Unless you were godlike gear-wise, it was needed once more. And people hated it.
Good old BC was great, because it was new. We al got used to so much easiness that the CC era's return was not tolerated.

I've been sitting on this for about 5 mins since getting home. Perhaps related to current server woes?

Don't stand in bad stuff.

For the garrisons if you need resources I'd suggest killing rares and tracking down treasures. I got about 1,000 GR yesterday doing that so that I could get my garrison to level 3.

As for heroics, I don't find them too hard (only one I haven't healed is Skyreach) but early on when I had shitty gear I did ask a rogue friend I ran with to sap a mob from time to time. It basically comes down to dps avoiding unnecessary damage and having to prioritize who gets healing (tank > dumb dps). Some times you need to let a dps who likes fire die in order to keep the group alive.

I will admit I hate healing monk tanks, fine with every other tank.

Eh? I've run four pre100 dungeons, no wipes in any of them.

Once you gear up they're really not. Heroics are so easy now on my healer, at ilvl 621.

Yeah, heroics are as easy as ever. The first day I could feel my butt pucker a bit tanking some of it, but now just 15 ilevels later I can let the pug healer die to whatever they die to and just solo many of the bosses with whatever dps is competent.

Yeah, just had the whole group wipe at ~40% on the first boss of UBRS and just soloed him without deactivating the stuff on the bottom :P

Then all 3 DPS died on Zaela and me and the healer killed her :p

Man, healing dungeons in this expansion is.... interesting. I just popped 93 and tried out the Iron Docks for the first time. Something that probably hasn't happened to me since Gnomeregan in Vanilla (where I finally understood how the hell to heal in MMOs) happened: A tank rushed in instantly and pulled about 3 groups, and I just straight up couldn't keep him alive. Sure enough, the entire group takes damage, and I get overwhelmed trying to keep everyone alive (including the tank just getting BEAT ON), he dies, cusses me out, and just drops group. I haven't felt that freaking useless in a looooong time in this game. The last time was probably Patchwerk in Vanilla Naxarammas. No matter how skillfully I play my spells just don't seem to heal enough!

Maybe it's just a Discipline priest thing, but it feels like i have no adequate big heals at all. If a tank drops to 50% health I feel like I'm already losing the battle. I'd chalk it up to my gear just kind of stinking and everyone still being used to the faceroll dungeons near the end of MoP, but it really felt like I had no good answer for 4 people all being low on health. I miss Greater Heal, and instant cast Prayer of Mending, and Renew, and Penance causing Grace. Maybe I should just switch to holy? How is the questing as holy? I was going Disp mostly because I assumed it would make doing quests easier.
