Mrbob said:Yeah I'm debating between this two as well since I just finished HL2 (Go read the official thread and help me figure out the story! :lol). On Friday morning EB is going to have Rome for 30 bucks so that sounds like a great deal. Or maybe I'll get Vampire? I dunno! MGS3 is the next full plate meal for me, so maybe I should just finish that first? :lol

One thing I've not seen mentioned, have they included the old "retirement" option which used to grade your success (or failure) and then detailed your old age in dire poverty? (Or at least thats the only result *I* used to get, varying grades of poverty....)

There's an item you can obtain (medicinal herbs, I think?) that will help stave off the effects of aging. I'm not sure if there is anything that can reverse the process, however.Help! Any way to improve my guys health

AstroLad said:Anyone able to compare this to the original in terms of how long it takes to progress, etc.? Is it "faster" than the original? One thing I hoped it retained is that ability to have a pretty long career and just kinda let things slowly develop if you want.
Unison said:It seems a tiny bit faster, but that is probably because I am being very aggressive. I am not really focusing on trading or changing the balance of power. There is an absolutely huge amount of stuff to do in the game, so you can theoretically play forever.
Also, I should admit that I am on the easiest difficulty level. I'm sure progression isn't as rapid on the harder ones!

Anyone else think it's just ridiculously slow? Any way to speed it up or something? If you end up far West, you're looking at a very painful trip back East.
