I would have preferred Sting not come back for this. He was right all along.

It's sad, but he might as well have jumped on the merchandise sales at this point. He was right all along about how he'd be treated though.

It's gross how they're still shitting on wcw, even in those roundtable discussion shows they have on the network. Winners write history though.

I just love that the end of the Main Event just made Reigns look like a complete tool. A fresh guy comes in does some damage to Brock but is now about to be basically taken out of the picture by Lesnar and his F5:

Do you a) Let him drop Rollins then attack or

b) Drop him before he drops Rollins thus allowing Rollins to escape unscathed and beat you because you've been getting your ass kicked for 15 minutes.

Naturally Reigns does b and the yeah looks like a complete moron.

New resepct for Roman I hope you guys have a little bit more for him too.
I've never disliked Reigns. I was happy that WWE was finally putting a young guy with a lot of potential front and center in their biggest show, but just felt that Reigns was a bit underdeveloped in some key areas.

I feel that online wrestling fans are a bit odd when it comes to supporting new talent. They will whine endlessly about how WWE leans on old talent, needs to start making younger talent look strong and viable, but seem to have little tolerance for deficiencies that come from being newer talent. I think it's perfectly fine to think Reigns needs more time in the oven, hell I agree with the sentiment, but the venom the guy has gotten has always felt pretty dumb.

Perfect avatar.

This is what is really dumb about it all.

If Sting was too disgusted by WWE's portrayal of WCW guys, why'd he come back at all, especially when he's old as fuck? It makes no sense.
I would hope, and think, that there will be more to all of this than what we saw last night, but it is the WWE, soooo....

So yeah, I hope Reigns leaves the title picture for now.

A Sheamus feud would really be nice in my opinion. Keep him face, and I'm sure the tougher fans will either cheer him or get off his case, since people will eventually respect the guy for working his way up.

Hi WrassleGAF,

What's the difference between a MARK and a SMARK?

Thank you for your time.

Mark = your casual wrestling fan who gets excited about everything WWE wants you to get excited about

Smark = your "smart" wrestling fan who follows backstage news and complains and can still get excited about certain things when WWE wants you to be excited

A mark gets caught up thinking the show is real. A smark prides themselves on not being marks, but think they know the inner workings of the show well enough that they can tell what's scripted or not. They can be just as easily manipulated as "casual marks." Everyone is a mark honestly.

Eh beaten lol

"We Win Again" -- JBL

Yeah, pretty much says it all.

As I said over at the WM 31 post on the Off Topic. My problem with that match was the illogical thinking behind the aftermath and the hand shake.

Wasn't Sting cutting a promo on HHH's heel tactics scathing him for how he had manipulated his way to the top not a week before this match? So HHH uses heel tactics to win the match and then Sting shakes his hand afterwards like it all meant nothing?

Then an hour later, HHH is out there verbally burying him with the whole "We're the Authority and we always win" shtick.

The problem for me is that none of this makes sense within the context of the story they were building to begin with. The story was never about WCW vs. WWE, it was about Sting standing up to HHH's corruption. Once they started introducing the WCW element, I knew that Sting was most likely destined to be buried. Like everything, they start off with a good idea and then they somehow manage to screw it up.

This was burial 101. They gloated with the whole "we won" bit. Hell, the only way that the authority got their just desserts was at the hands of their own home grown talent (and Rousey)

I've seen people try to defend this, but the whole thing just reeked of burying for the sake of burying. Can't say I was too surprised either. As soon as they started playing up the whole WCW part of it, I just knew there was no way they were letting someone attached with WCW stigma go over at Mania.

So I can't say I was too surprised, I honestly was expecting this...
This
No, the real problem with Sting/HHH was the commentary constantly shitting on WCW like it was 2001 all over again.
And this!

Horrible, HORRIBLE WrestleMania moment. Worst WrestleMania ever
Sting came back for this? To get pinned by HHH? Seriously?
SERIOIUSLY?

Sting should have avoided WWE then. Like... forever!

What a load of garbage.
JBL: "We win!" Yeah, screw WWE and screw HHH!
What a horrible company.

I would have preferred Sting not come back for this. He was right all along.
Exactly! Don't know what Sting was thinking.
What a horrible thing to do in the end. HORRIBLE!

Exposing the gawd damn business..

The thing about the Sting match...and the reason that there was no real surprise like Goldberg or something was because all the dudes in that match have been appearing on TV a lot lately. Since the NAO made up with HHH and Hall/Hogan started appearing on TV again they've all appeared a good amount in the last year. It almost felt like it was just HHH giving his friends a WM payday and they didn't want to open their wallet to bring in any real attitude era guys that would have been a surprise.

Yes it did. Had to do a double take last night. Also, what time is Rusev's career's wake and graveside service tonight?

They better do something good with him. He's the main reason I've been watching. Needs to stick with Lana too but that doesn't seem likely.

I don't understand what they were going for during the Sting/HHH match. I just don't understand.

Can someone compile a list of the last twenty matches HHH has wrestled, and how many he's won? I guess the biggest positive will always be that he wasn't given the streak, and Lesnar was. Thank God for that.

Somehow I feel like HHH will feel like he's the best one to retire the Undertaker, though.

I never once fantasized about a match between HHH and Sting. What a waste.

Another bright side was that fucking beautiful lariat/clothesline by Lesnar, I was laughing by ass off in delight when he hit that. One of the sweetest clotheslines I've ever seen. I actually think Lesnar is slowly taking over as my favorite wrestler of all time.

Also I bawled at every reference of Macho Man last night. I miss him so much.

Nostalgia match. That and Vince can't have a WCW guy beat a WWE guy. Standard HHH backstage politics really.

I don't know about his last 20 matches, but he's basically like 50/50 in his last 3-4 years of matches.

Maybe I'm just still hurt that he beat Brock and made Brock look weak for a bit.

Hyped for R.A.W., hoping for an NXT debut.

Im curious if they are going to let Daniel Bryan shine. The IC title stigma worries me, but a feud with a heel Ziggler should be a great guarantee of that title getting proper attention.

just re-watching god the camera work is terrible in the wwe like close up after close up after close up with a slow zoom out, you miss all the good things. ex 1. seth rollins going for 2nd curbstomp on brock, brock lifts him up, zoom in on brock and his torso and you just see reigns going for the spear a second after, your barely see it, right after that seth going for curbstomp on regins why the fuck do you zoom in on seths upper chest and face, then cut full screen right after he hits it.....wtf are they thinking

Yeah I agree. What's worse is the constant "let's show all these guys on the outside get up together and set themselves up for the high flying spot where we all get taken out"

It's so glaringly awful. I despise so much of this, because NXT really shows how it's done right.

I've watched the show in fast forward, and the one segment I watched entirely was The Rock and Ronda Rousey. This guy is really good at working a crowd, it's ridiculous. The whole thing was pretty funny.

First time I've watched WWE since I went to a live RAW back in October.

They booked that main event really well. Has a wrestler ever been made to look as strong as Brock? It's pretty great. I guess maybe WCW Goldberg but he wasn't taking this many finishers. He was also a shit wrestler, and certainly not about that suplex city life.

I don't care about HHH not putting Sting over they're both old as fuck, but fuck Cena though.
