What is NXT Takeover? It is a live 2 hour special event which is basically the PPV events for the WWE NXT brand. NXT is WWE's developmental territory run by Triple H. The product is often much better than the main roster and this show has several potential match of the year candidates.

NXT Championship Match
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Kevin Owens
Following a volatile match contract signing, the hotly anticipated Feb. 11 showdown between NXT Champion Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, originally a non-title match, will now be contested for Zayns NXT Championship. Enraged, and focused on settling the score with Owens, Zayn agreed to defend his title after NXTs most controversial prizefighter scoffed at the original terms of the match and demanded higher stakes.
Former friends, Zayns and Owens careers have been intertwined from almost the very start, and with Owens much-ballyhooed arrival to NXT in December came big expectations that the two warriors would end up in the same ring eventually, either as partners or opponents.
What nobody could have expected, however, was the vicious and unforgiving manner in which Owens betrayed his longtime ally at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, powerbombing Zayn onto the ring apron moments after Zayns hard-fought NXT Championship win. The scary attack sidelined the newly crowned champion for weeks, and when Zayn finally did return, he was again attacked by the dangerous Owens.
This all set the stage for Zayns plea to NXT General Manager William Regal for a match against Owens on Feb. 11, a fight that now also has NXTs top prize on the line.

NXT Championship No. 1 Contender's Tournament Finals
Adrian Neville vs. Finn Bálor
At NXT TakeOver: Rival, the next Superstar to challenge for the NXT Title will be determined when Adrian Neville and Finn Bálor go toe-to-toe in the NXT Championship No. 1 Contenders Tournament Final.
For weeks, the NXT Universe has watched excitedly as a field of eight Superstars has been winnowed down to just Neville and Bálor. The Man Who Gravity Forgot, who held the NXT Title for nearly 10 months before falling to current champion Sami Zayn, advanced to the final round by defeating Tyson Kidd and then Baron Corbin. Irish-born sensation Bálor, meanwhile, stomped his way into the finals with wins over Curtis Axel and respected ally Hideo Itami.
At TakeOver: Rival, the two dynamic and highly popular Superstars will meet for the first time in an NXT ring. What can the world expect to see when Nevilles blink-and-you-missed strike combinations and aerial artistry are pitted against Bálors world-renowned arsenal?
Will Neville leap back into the NXT Title scene just months after losing the championship? Or will Bálor, who has taken away the collective breath of the NXT Universe since debuting in September, force his way into title contention for the first time?
