You see, WWE is entertainment.

eSports is sport.

WWE does not belong on ESPN.
You know what does belong on ESPN?

Are we actually discussing this?

You can apply that logic to every job. I'm pretty sure being liked by corporate isn't a sport.

But ESPN stands for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network, and since WWE is "sports entertainment" it counts double and should get more coverage

damn it

he's right

they should cover episodes of gotham on espn too. I'm serious. that would be great. just trying to break that shit down would be entertaining as hell.

it would also be cool if they actually covered WWE instead of their segments being a 5 minute commercial for WWE but eh

So here's my question - was the original spot Sting NO-SELLING a turnbuckle powerbomb? Because if so, what the fuck? Even Cena gives the moves a few seconds before kicking out and making them ineffectual as fuck.
WWE style is to get right up and feed into a bigger spot. Cena's 5 moves of doom and many other people's signature combos are based on it. Most popular variation is just clotheslining a dude, and he pops right back up for another one. Everyone's got a different philosophy on match pacing and style, though.

I know they feed into a bigger spot, but the fuck is bigger than a turnbuckle powerbomb?

Like sure, Sting should kick out. But it looks like he was trying to kick Seth in the dick a second after he took the move. Like seriously, Sting? Lie down you idiot. Shit is worse than fucking Taker thinking he can seriously go move for move with Brock.

Typically it feeds into another move for Seth, this time however it does look like Stang would no-sell it and start a punch trade or something.

Don't forget, Stang does have a Hulk-up.

The problem with ESPN covering WWE is how they cover the sport. Was Billy Gunn's firing for drugs covered? Will any negative story about the WWE be covered? Did they mention the Internet's reaction to the Reid Flair angle?

ESPN are running paid ads for WWE on SportsCenter, except they're presented as actual news. It's pretty lame.

The way they work with the NFL as well is pretty gross.

ESPN is a fucking horrible channel that caters to the lowest common denominator, who gives a fuck whether they show wrestling or not

I've never been more bored and just disconnected from pro wrestling, so I'm not surprised to find many others are feeling the same way.

What do you think it's going to take for Vince McMahon to give the 2015 or 2016 version of the meeting he had where he asked for input from the talent, which started the Attitude Era?

Survivors Series was a massive disappointment, forget the outcome, i didn't even enjoy the actual Reigns/Ambrose match. Who wants to watch the WWE upsell Sheamus as world champ on RAW?

And the ratings slide continues.....

Raw Viewership for 11/23:

8pm: 3.190
9pm: 2.990
10pm: 2.712

Avg: 2.964

there was interest last week because the tournament format was, well, INTERESTING

then they completely fucking botched it and went with the worst possible outcome at SS... no one should be surprised at this rating.

Never. there's no WCW, and the company is public, so they screwed themselves.

I'm starting to feel the same with Raw. It's starting to become like Smackdown, except 3 hours long. It's becoming hard to stay awake watching it, and I'm less motivated to watch it every week. It's become stagnant. And VK doesn't seem to give a shit about his boring product.

I'll keep my network subscription just for NXT alone.

Same. I never watched raw live on tv. DVR skim through. Lately, I haven't bother to that at all.

The only thing wrestling related i continue to be excited about is attending Lucha underground tapings.

NXT is on hulu, and is only 2 dollars a month more than the WWE network to get rid of the commercials while getting access to all of Hulu's other content ad free as well.

Yeah, but WWE also has a ton of great original content that's totally worth watching. Breaking Ground, Table for 3 and a ton of great archival content. It's a heck of a value even if you don't keep up with the current product.

I just read up the show reviews from time to time and it's unfathomable how absolute shit this has become.

#BringCenaBack

Why? He's not on the writing team and it was garbage before he left. That's where the changes need to happen.

Right now, they could bring Savage back to life, but they'll give him a shitty angle and scripted promos and it'll still be shit.
