WWE Raw drops to lowest TV rating in 18 years

The Steiner vs HHH feud was one of the most hilariously warped things I've ever seen. It turned into a man on man porno without the sex at points.

Then in HCTP we got to recreate that shit. Lol. It's so sad that I remember this crap actually feeding in to it. What were they thinking.

MVP and Matt Hardy did it better eventually

Scott Keith has an E-Book of every Raw in 2002, and his ever increasing insanity at the Steiner-HHH feud is pretty God-damn hilarious.

Looking really bad going into 'Mania.

http://www.pwtorch.com/site/2016/03/22/march21rawtvratings/

March 21: Raw scored a 2.44 rating, down three percent from a 2.51 rating last week.

The overall TV rating has steadily dropped each week since the Raw after Fast Lane…

  • Feb. 22: 2.73 rating (post-Fast Lane/Shane return)
  • Feb. 29: 2.63 rating
  • Mar. 7: 2.59 rating
  • Mar. 14: 2.51 rating
  • Mar. 21: 2.44 rating

***

– DEMOGRAPHICS: The key demographics are perhaps the most concerning of all two weeks before WrestleMania.

Raw fell off the board in males 18-34. M18-34 declined two-tenths of a rating to easily the lowest TV rating of the year.

Raw also lost one-tenth of a rating in adults 18-49 to the lowest a18-49 rating of the year.

Males 18-49 fell one-tenth, as well, and tied for the lowest m18-49 rating of the year.

WWE needs to get hip with the younger demographic again. Other wrasslers are trying.

Watched it on mute last night, Shane is fighting the undertaker? smh

Since Undertaker hasn't had a good match since Punk and is likely just past it now, at least it's a match we could have some bumps and swerves to keep things interesting. Just be happy it isn't Taker V Sting in a zimmerframe on a pole match.

The male 18-49 demo just realized that The Walking Dead finale is up against Mania this year.
And the matchup they're most excited to see in the next couple weeks isn't Roman Reigns vs. Triple H. It's Batman vs. Superman.

After the AJ/KO match (which should be taking place at WM), the rest of Raw was.......

Booty.

Even the crowd started chanting "This is Boring" during the main event.

I have to admit I'm not a fan of the PG era. I stopped watching due to it. I'm sure upping it a notch or two wouldn't hurt ratings.

Sounded like a fun crowd. I only managed to catch the opening with Roman just so I could see how much Philly would tear into him. Well...that and only half of the show was recorded because my box is terrible.

Brooklyn's next, right?

I am one of the many who dumped it after DB retired and have not looked back. It is pure trash, not worth the time commitment at all, they need to fire all of their writers and let the wrestlers sway from the script.

last night's show was god-awful, shit tier garbage

I can't believe I watched it

Cancelling my network sub after Wrestlemania. I'm sick of the constant commercials, having Reigns rammed down my throat and my intelligence insulted on a weekly basis

Yeah I chose Walking Dead last year-- watched the main event live and then caught up on the rest of the show with the benefit of fast forward. That's the plan again provided I re-up the Network.

Hire back Vince Russo.

I don't see how anyone who's listening to him lately take about Raw's flaws could disagree. Listen to him on Austin's podcast. Even if he's an idiot, he's better than these idiots.

Aiii

So not worth it

No. No he is not.

And I don't even watch RAW anymore.

What he said on the Austin podcast makes sense. Vince needs to come back. The vignettes need to come back.

The show is written so badly that they'd be better off with absolutely no script. Just have the wrestlers make up random shit on the spot. I guarantee it'd be less nonsensical than the shit they force them to say and do right now.

You could throw a dart at a list of Writer's Guild members and find someone who would recognize and correct most of the problems Russo talks about. You don't need him, you just need not-McMahon. There's the rub.

I've been really enjoying his analysis on the podcast for the past couple weeks, even Vince at his worst is better than the current product.

Yes, yes he is. I watched the last few years of Nitro pretty recently and goddamn, even if there's some stupid shit, at least everything on that show has a purpose.

Right. At least he tried to do something that fans would find entertaining. Sometimes he succeeded. Sometimes he didn't. But at least he tried. Roman Reigns. Jericho vs AJ Styles. League of boring. The Wyatts. The story behind Undertaker vs Shane McMahon. None of that is even trying.

Russo is a pretty good producer who needs a strong editor on top of him. The problem has been that Vince is not the person you want as the editor.

Russo may be fine at analysing and critiquing the booking from the outside but it's a completely different story when he's actually in control. You just be swapping the current mess for a different kind of drizzling shits.

I really wish Vince would ..go away.

Just retire goddammit. Triple H is so in tune with the product and Shane can go away too.
CM Punk would disagree with you on that and so would I. The internet idolizes HHH because of NXT but the truth is the "talent" moves up and he can't do anything with them in the big show and you can't keep blaming Vince, they are flat characters 90% of the time. Outside of Seth Rollins, who in this generation has grabbed the brass ring? Look at how shitty Neville has been booked, you can't give HHH credit for one thing and not blame him for another. Look at how badly even HHH fucked up Daniel Bryan and then like an asshole takes credit that it was "all part of the plan". You're being worked to think he is a savior.

Nah, it's currently the drizzling shits. Russo would be a more solid kind of movement, but you're still in pain and going more regularly than you should be.

Huh? None of this is on the Network. Is that a smart move?

There are 5 hours of main WWE content each week (not counting stuff no one watches like Main Event, Superstars, ect). There is 1 hour of NXT each week.
If there were 5 hours of NXT each week, that product would be stale and uninteresting.

Some Manias are kinda bitter to rewatch, the ones where the wrong guy was pushed hard and in hindsight you are like "ew". Lashley, Khali, Luger, Nash, Miz and now Reigns.

You will rewatch Mania 32 in 10 years and go "oh yeah, i remember when they tried pushing Reigns, i wonder at what toll booth he works at now?"

These Raws are flat for numerous reasons obviously, its not all Reigns fault, but he is suppose to be the main good guy. Bill Goldberg rise in WCW was around a year, similar to Reigns, and even those dumbasses at WCW did a far better job.

Friend.

Friend, please.

What are you even talking about? You're not going to wonder where he is. In ten years, Roman Reigns will still be the headline, the main event, the icon, and the whole damn show.

Best case: Return of the Attitude Era. Worst case: The product sucks, it's absolute shit; so it's basically exactly the same as it is now. It can't be any worse.

The Attitude Era was absolutely deplorable trash. What is it you liked?

This has to be the weakest buildup to a Mania ever, I can't believe that Vince thinks this is acceptable for the biggest show of the year.

So are you talking about HHH's booking ability or the initiative of the talent? You're kinda arguing against yourself here.

it was without a doubt the worst episode of raw i've ever seen. wrestlemania is so fucked. i've watched nearly all the raws the past few years and while there have been boring ones and shit ones, i've generally enjoyed myself. but this one was beyond bad. like, i'm about to have a panic attack, what the fuck is happening, where am i, kind of bad.

there is absolutely ZERO heat in any of the matchups. people are either booing the main face or too bored to even interact. vince walked out to crickets. he said that this would be takers last match and noone gave a fuck. 10 days out and you're still trying to set up a match for the ic belt. they literally just grabbed a couple of guys and somehow put them into a ladder match. thats it. out of the 6 main card wrestlers, only 2 turned up. how the fuck is dean supposed to generate heat with a guy who doesn't even show up? even worse, shane vs taker, neither of them were there. hhh was on screen for about 5 seconds in a really fucking weird, car attack segment, where the booed 'face' is assaulting him and steph in a garage. the us title is between kalisto and ryback. holy shit. its the worst build up i can remember for any card. seriously. i just dont give a fuck about any of the matches beyond aj and jericho. and even that was somewhat fucked up. they put on a solid match but then the distraction rollup? FUCK OFF. its the exact same storyline as charlotte and becky too. fucking pisses me off.

No WCW and there is no Austin or Rock walking through that door. Ain't happening.

This is what happens when you play to an audience of one, who plays favorites regardless of what the audience thinks.

It's pretty sad when the glorified house show I attended at Road Block will end up as a better show than Wrestlefuckingmania

There's zero chance that Reigns-Trips outdoes what Ambrose-Trips put on.
