This has to be the weakest buildup to a Mania ever, I can't believe that Vince thinks this is acceptable for the biggest show of all time.

ftfy

the main event is undertaker vs shane mcmahon

How many years have you been watching wrestling?

I'm serious, because if you think THIS is bad you really need to go back and watch the 93, 94, or 2003 builds to Mania.

god the amount of people blaming PG for this

going back isn't gonna fix this, vince will still be in charge and the writers will still be the same

The Attitude Era was absolutely deplorable trash. What is it you liked?
Nonsense. This is just what people tell themselves nowadays as a kneejerk reaction to the "we need more blood, puppies and swearing" line of thought.

In actual fact the Attitude era's real strengths were in its booking. It was compelling and unpredicatble. Go to the network, pick any Raw between 1999-2002, and just look at the crowd. People cheering! And booing! People losing their frickin' minds at every little thing, because what they're watching is exciting, and the drama actually matters.

Blood, titties and Mae Young giving birth to a human hand are just side effects of a far superior product all round. Where the talent were booked to their strengths, rather than micro-managed into corporate shills with scripts written by committee.

While ratings might be shit the truth is people keep pouring money into it. They are fine and have no reason to chance. Even people that criticize the show here then have subs to the Network or buy shirts and stuff.

Currently watching WWE when eating breakfast or working suits me. It's trash but it works as background noise. I do wonder if I should stop watching it because it really is terrible.

Also trying to be edgy for the sake of being edgy doesn't work nowadays. TNA's attempts at this when they cram swears and "extreme" violence in their angles are cringy as hell.

This is what happens when you play to an audience of one, who plays favorites regardless of what the audience thinks.

It's pretty sad when the glorified house show I attended at Road Block will end up as a better show than Wrestlefuckingmania

There's zero chance that Reigns-Trips outdoes what Ambrose-Trips put on.

Not only that but the so-called 'Developmental' brand's PPV card absolutely shits on Wrestlemania.

smh...no chance pal. They had hot crowds. Trash in-ring. Trash stories aside from Vince/Stone Cold. Everything else was junk.

It was a low point for wrestling. Nothing redeemable.

I remember back in 1997, ECW's first PPV, the crowd booed because Lance Storm didn't try to cave in RVD's head with a chair. It's nice knowing things have not changed at all.
I don't mean fucking hard clock him. I mean proper open hand wrestler punches ala austin/rock/everyone ever except from hbk and Shane.

Jericho and the rock were legends on the mic. Makes even new day look like middle of the mall crap tbh.

Hot crowds definitely helped too but also some of that roster in attitude era was incredible.

Is it worth subbing then unsubbing just to watch wrestle mania?
I like Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon but thats about it.
Anything worth watching from Mania involving those two will invariably be available on YouTube.
It IS probably worth subbing and then unsubbing for NXT Takeover Dallas.

Holy shit. That is fucking stacked

I want to see everything there so bad except for the crews one.

Man the wrestlemania card is looking hilarious in comparison

Okay, I haven't watched wrestling in over a decade but..is this...is this normal? Is this what wrestling has become? I hear nothing but complaints about Raw but...really...this is real?

This is what wrestling has become.

Alas, if you're just sticking to WWE you're missing a whole world of amazing shit, and this is JUST Lucha Underground.

Wednesdays at 7 Central on El Rey. Entire seasons available on iTunes.

If WWE leaves a bad taste in your mouth, there are alternatives that to everything better.

I have to agree with the folks who say that the "attitude era" was a golden time.

Just the sheer unpredictability of the ridiculous crap I was tuning in for kept me coming back over, and over, and over.

Um, Stone Cold throwing Kurt's medals in the river?

Stone Cold bringing a milk truck in to the stadium and blasting The Rock?

Hulk VS Rock?

They always had a way of setting up these stories in such a ridiculous fashion that had you HYPED AS ALL HELL to see what happened next.

Also, to my knowledge at the time, wasn't Raw and Smackdown 3 hours back then too? I mean before they split and had different wrestling rosters. I don't see what's so strange about the time slot.

If you want unpredictable storylines I highly recommend watching WCW over WWE

Boy, they're somethin else.

Raw was 2 hours during the Attitude Era. Not 3.

Stone Cold had the beer truck. Angle had the milk truck.

Watched them all. None of them were as bad.

The main draw of this show is a 50 year old who wrestles once a year against a non wrestler.

Bret Hart in his prime doing anything is automatically better than that.

Bring back Chyna!

I remember the Late 90s, early 00s.

Her intercontinental flights with Jericho and the banter was ace.

You had wrestlers who you actually gave a toss about, The Rock, Steve Austin, The McMahons, HHH, Undertaker came back amazingly one year and put out The Big Show.

And Mick Foley and his dirty sock. The amount o times I felt sorry for him as he collapsed through a cage.

The stories were crap (HHH marrying a drugged up Stephanie) but the wrestlers were entertaining and most were really well liked! Something that is missing now.

It's going to need new wrestlers and heroes o old to turn the tide and a shorter time slot.

Also that wrestlermainia is an embarrassment!!! I mean in the old days Shane would have been pounded by the undertaker at the start of Raw, only for Shane to pound him with a chair 2 minutes before the end so HHH could win the fight. It was paint by numbers sure but Shane isn't a main attraction, he is a weasel who always gets the last laugh.

Folks not wrestling at Mania

Sting
Cena
Rock
Daniel Bryan
Randy Orton
Seth Rollins
Bray Wyatt
Cesaro

Rock might actually end up wrestling in the New Day match. Would be crazy to have him wrestle unadvertised but it does mean zero expectations for the little wrestling he'd be able to do.

Sting - Eh
Cena - Unfortunate. He's been having outstanding matches
Rock - Don't care anymore
Daniel Bryan - Obviously unfortunate
Randy Orton - Eh
Seth Rollins - I miss him badly
Bray Wyatt - Eh
Cesaro - So handsome

That NXT show is the real main event of the weekend. Nakamura/Zayn is bigger than any match on the Mania card.

I see a lot of people make the claim that rock can't wrestle or take a bump or anything like that but this dude is like one of the most physically fit dudes ever.

I feel like i'm missing something in saying that i don't see what it is that suggests rock isn't capable of putting on a halfway decent match.

Shit, if sting can go in there and try to make something work, why couldn't rock?
