Interesting in that people who get suspended usually don't tweet?

Just interesting in that it could mean a lot of things; they were just speculating that maybe it wasn't a tainted supplement and that he maybe just took something knowingly.

I guess this explains why he lost the title yesterday? Feel bad for Roman though, he has been booked terrible, everybody now hates him, and now this. Good of him to apologize and not come with any excuses.

What was the point, Roman? Your ring attire covers 90% of your muscles. Sad, dumb.
Also the fact that even with the roids, he can still barely pick up guys like Rollins and Ambrose. I laughed heartily when he almost died trying to pick up Sheamus the same way. It didn't help when you got Cole talking about "there's that...STRENGTH and...POWER of Roman Reigns!" all the while he's struggling.

I'm guessing no, based on what his UFC 200 opponent keeps saying about him not being tested at all.
Lesnar has been tested at least three times since the UFC 200 fight was announced.
Wait, reading this thread people seriously think WWE didn't know way out this before money in the bank? A hahahaha of course they knew. Even Alvarez confirmed they knew but it was obvious anyway.
It's not like this is the first time they've held off on suspending someone, that was one of the earliest rules WWE changed since it was fucking up their story lines by having them being suspended immediately.
He mentioned that the test result was known before the PPV, but that its still mystifying that they mentioned the 3-way on Raw, since they knew it couldn't happen. That's about it.

So they wrote themselves in a corner but Summerslam's ME is pretty much decided.

The suspension ends a few days before the Battleground.

That's not a fact, nothing was announced as to what he failed the test for and WWE tests for a lot more than just steroids. More likely either a supplement that had something in it that wasn't allowed or a fat burner which has gotten several rosters members in trouble in the past.

What happened today..that's all on him.

Everything else..not really his fault. I don't think he's a great wrestler but I do think he's good and he's got potential. His matches with Styles are match of the year candidates for me so far. I am really bothered with the crowd chanting,"you can't wrestle" during his matches. Completely disrespectful to the performers. This is a situation where the crowd are trying to become the stars of the show instead of the performers in the ring. I'm all for freedom of expression at these events, but not to that point. I wouldn't shed a tear if WWE started escorting some of these disrespectful fucks out of the building.

It's not a favoritism thing either since they've done it for guys like R-Truth.

I mean, getting screen time and story to work with can be, but them's the breaks I guess.

I know it's not. Was merely piling on with the lack of strength observations/jokes.

Fans are upset - I would argue justifiably - over the way the WWE books their talent and shows. That said, a "you can't wrestle" chant for someone who clearly can and does wrestle exceptionally... something that Internet darlings like Styles and Owens and Daniel Bryan would all attest... isn't the way to express their displeasure.

They ought to be chanting "you can't commentate" at JBL instead of cheering for him. They ought to be chanting "you can't book" at Vince and Steph and their Creative team. They ought to be chanting "you can't direct" at Kevin Dunn.

But because they don't have easy conduits to do just that they simply deflect all of their distaste and scorn towards a stale product at Roman. He's an easy scapegoat for a flawed booking philosophy that values quantity over quality.

If anything, I'm upset at how some people (not in this thread, but in general) seem to be getting some sort of sick pleasure from this Roman news.

Reigns gets booed at NXT house shows when he's showed on-screen or mentioned, too. At the Concord NXT show after Mania, there was a marriage proposal and the guy said they named their kid after Reigns. The crowd booed and demanded that she say no (she said yes and the crowd cheered, but still). People don't like Reigns because he's shoved down their throats and booked exactly like Cena when he shouldn't be in, in an area where fans are smart enough to know who's being booked and why.

Him being suspended is justification for those people.

For me, personally, I think Reigns sucks. I'm happy he got suspended, but I'm going to be pissed when they brush this under the rug like it didn't even happen. And it's going to make me hate him more.

Dude shouldn't be dead lifting, it just looks awful and leaves at greater risk of injury and makes him look bad when smaller talent is able to do basically the same move even with relative ease even if it isn't a dead lift.

I think actually running with news of the suspension in story would be a bad idea. Smart fans are already on his case. Hell, that's most people these days. I don't know, maybe you have to run with it just so you don't look stupid for coming up with an excuse. Everyone knows.

I think it would be a good idea (although I don't watch WWE anymore so I'm probably the least qualified to judge this). But maybe have a storyline where the management is shook by Roman's suspension as well so they're looking for a new superstar to become top dog. So then you have four 4-man's, take the winner of each 4-man for a PPV match to decide who is the new Roman. Then have Roman come back and kick the winner's ass. Gotta make Roman look strong.

Whoa there, he's gotten better but exceptionally? He's still getting carried a lot in the big matches and needs to up his move repertoire.

Anything else would be better than the samoan drop, superman punch and spear combo he has going on now. Shake it up a bit roman.

The love Ambrose gets when he has an even smaller move set in WWE is pretty much the ultimate "IWC fans care about moves" destroyer in existence.

I wish Dean shook things up a bit too :(
It's crazy to think Styles still has things he's not even used yet in his 6 months in WWE

Ric Flair was able to have quality matches late in his career with an arsenal that was literally just Chops, Punches, Eye Pokes, Elbow Drops and the Figure 4

It's merely the WWE style.

Stick with 5 or 6 signature moves and only do truly special moves on special occasions.

If we admit that, then how can we try to justify our irrational hatred for Roman without seeming like hypocritical petty assholes who just want our favorites to be on top and want everyone else to suck?

Smaller arsenals don't work for everyone, imo.

Hogan and Flair had massive personalities to go with their sets as well.

That's really too bad. I thought I had just read that Metallica was coming out with a new album too. I guess after what happened with Mustaine they just don't have any tolerance for drug use in the band.

It'll be funny when he comes back he finally strips away that vest to reveal that his body is ripped as fuck. This will be the absolute best timing for his heel turn too.

People don't hate Roman because he has a limited moveset. They hate Roman because he was decreed to be the chosen one back before the Shield ever broke up. You could count the number of singles matches he had before his Royal Rumble win on one hand. That and the fact that he was super-protected and given tonguebaths by commentary (heel or face alike) before he'd done anything to EARN our respect in the first place was what led to the backlash. And, after a while, people just went with it because they hate being force fed who to cheer for while everyone else gets sacrificed to the 50/50 gods.

This has nothing to do with hypocrisy. Roman was put in a can't win situation by tone-deaf booking decisions. This isn't even about our favorites not getting pushed... that angle pretty much went up in smoke once Daniel Bryan was forced into retirement.

No, this is much more simple. This is a battle of stubborn wills between Vince McMahon and the fans. Vince books the way he does to spite his fans. The fans react the way they do to spite him... although, to be fair, the ultimate way to spite him would be to stop watching and not give him any more money but, hey, clearly some of them are incapable of voting with their wallets.

Roman is simply a guy caught in the crossfire.

Honesty Roman is just plain boring.

His personality. His look. His attire. His theme. His titantron. His moveset.

Nothing about him tells me he's the guy
