I think I have finally put my finger one why i could never stand The Voice and X Factors setup. While I still love idol.

I think its because on idol you start with simple auditions, just you and the judges, no music, no staging, minimal drama. Just the contestant and some of their backstory. Then its hollywood which is more staged but still doesn't feel like a production. It keeps rising to the finale.

With the Voice the drama peaks during the auditions and with the X Factor (only watched British version) it stays consistent the whole time. I never feel any rising action with any of them. I much prefer a less staged/rehearsed audition process.

I'm enjoying Britney as a judge. Her and Simon pretty much run it. Talent was kind of weak. The pretty nursing student with the daughter in the beginning was the only one that impressed me.

If that crying girl was the big moment of the episode as far as the talent is concerned, then honestly I'm really disappointed. This is the FIRST episode of the season with BRITNEY as a judge. It is practically GUARANTEED that they will get their biggest audience TONIGHT.

They should have front-loaded it with amazing performance after amazing performance after amazing. fucking. performance. Instead I was largely bored. NOT a single contestant tonight was great like the amazing performances we got last season (remember when Stacy fucking SLAYED?), and the cheesy editing was really overdone.

If it wasn't for you gerls I honestly would have changed the channel.





Britney was much better than I gave her credit for. But that is really the ONLY good thing I can say about this episode.
