Pretty surprising reaction after DOFP, I'm sure I will still enjoy it.

The trailers have looked uninspiring to say the least but I could have SWORN I was just wrong and the reviews would come out solid.

Interesting

Well, maybe this will lead to a crossover between X-Men and The Avengers - surely Fox must be somewhat desperate to save the brand since this film is receiving middling reviews and Hugh Jackman is leaving.

Not that I've already made up my mind, but as suggested earlier, it wouldn't be the first time that X-Men peaked at 2 and tanked at 3. :p

Movie looks awful anyways like every Bryan singer super hero movie.

As a x-men fan I've long given up on the hope of seeing a good xmen movie in my life time.

Still want to see it just to judge it for myself. One of the reviewers I watch who was super down about it from the beginning was gushing about it so I wonder how mixed it will be.

Chicago Tribune - "X-Men: Apocalypse" -- 2 stars

There’s a joke at the expense of the long-ago, far-away third “X-Men” picture, the lousy one directed by Brett Ratner. But this one’s no gem. It’s simply large, and long (two-and-a-half hours, the usual length lately with these products). I remain unpersuaded and slightly galled by the attempts to interpolate the history, locale and tragic meaning of Auschwitz into what used to be known as popcorn movies. The dialogue has a metallic, tinny ring (where’s Magneto when you need him?). At one point Rose Byrne’s intelligence agent speculates, in her exquisitely underplayed way, on the intentions of their chief adversary. This surly, pushy Egyptian mutant god routine might well “end in disaster … some kind of … apocalypse.” Pause. Then McAvoy puts on his best Serious Actor face and solemnly adds: “Mmm. The end of the world.”

Not surprising. This is the eighth film in the X Men universe (not counting Deadpool) and only X2 is above mediocre.

DOFP is alright too, certainly better than the rest. Although it relies too much on the strength of its leads and not in balancing the cast or plot; it still manages to put them well together in the end I thought.

These impressions sound disappointing tho =/ Will still check it out.

I'm not even an x-men fan and I thought first class and Days Of Future Past were terrific. Really sucks to hear but I'll make my own judgement.

Crashing this plane... with no survivors!
I loved Days of Future Past, but the trailers for this didn't get me excited. The reviews don't sound encouraging, but I'll still watch it.

These reviews sound nothing like his prior xmen movies. I hate that he felt he had to adapt to the current landscape because it sounds like he kind of fell flat doing so

so those early rumours were true...

Why did release the embargo so soon?

Someone terribly misread the situation if the trend continues.

Has this ever happened in the past? A studio setting up such an early embargo date just to have it backfire on them?

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Looks divisive...

I've always maintained that Bryan Singer is just not a good filmmaker. I haven't enjoyed a single X-Men movie outside of First Class. I hope Fox bring in someone more talented and "in touch" with the genre for the subsequent films.

Yea but this time we can't blame it on Ratner (not that Superman Returns was any better)

2 out of 8, so yeah...it's foolish to expect much out of the series at this point.

X-Men 1, First Class and the most recent Wolverine were all good to different extents. I'd say the ratio before this film is 5/7.
